1 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 08/21/2018

Driving on hwy at 70 mph using adaptive cruise control all of a sudden it applied the brakes. Few days later it did again on hwy nothing around me. Stopped using it after second time. Lucky no one was behind me. Then after I got to my disination the next morning stater my truck first I noticed no power to the front driver & passanger windows then no a/c / climate control, no mirror control so started driving it then noticed tire warning light on but wouldn't show the tire pressures looked at tires and looked like they where fine. When leaving store was backing up and almost hit a car my warning sensor didn't go off now I noticed that all of my safety devices on this truck was not working. Now I'm wondering if my airbags are active. Drove back home from virginia to tennessee about 6 hr drive very carfuly. Next day straight to Ford dealer and is still there as I'm writing this. Very unsafe to drive. Did notice on the adaptive cruise control issue there was a recall on the 2015 models but didn't see any on the 2016.

2 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/22/2018

While using the adaptive cruise control on my 2015 Ford F-150 (king ranch), my truck will confuse a dump truck as a stopped or slow moving vehicle in front of my truck. This will happen if a dump truck is in the lane beside me or in opposing lanes. This occurs at sow and high speeds. Multiple times this has occurred at 65mph+ in traffic. The truck will very abruptly apply the breaks and the collision warning system will alert. This has almost caused very serious wrecks due to the speeds that it often occurs. This is also not a seldom occurance, it happens every time I pass by a dump truck. It will occur on any and every street. I took the vehicle to a Ford delearship and their solution had no effect on the issue.

3 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/14/2018

Adaptive cruise control engages brakes for no apparent reason. No traffic or obstacle was in front of my vehicle to cause it to engage the brakes at highway speed of 70mph. Messages as follows: hill descent control warning illuminated causing brakes to engage 3/14/2018. Forward collision warning 3/14/2018. Self-parking feature backed my vehicle into a large boulder beside my truck while parking. If it had been a person beside my truck, they could have been seriously injured or killed. Happened about February 15, 2018.

4 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/28/2017

Adaptive cruise control occasionally causes f 150 to make an emergency stop even though there is nothing in front of truck on a clear, sunny day. The truck was doing 70-75 mph 3 times when this occurred.

5 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 10/09/2016

My fiancée and I were driving down the highway, with no cruise control on, and suddenly my sensors go off as if I was about to hit something. Then after a second (probably was only a split-second, but it felt like forever), it went away. If adaptive cruise control would have been enabled, this would have caused the brakes to automatically press (I know because this has happened to me before). I was passing a semi, if that helps. This is a very dangerous issue (sensors thinking they are going to hit something, when it should be nothing). I wish I had a video of it happening, but it only has happened 3 times for at most 3 seconds in the the 1. 5 years I have owned the vehicle.

7 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/05/2016

Installed new front bumpers from ranch hand corporation shiner,TX 18003669712 they said all the safety features would work and the adaptive cruise. It doesn't and a big safety issue. I just want them to honor what they said they sold and to have safety features. I called them and not very helpful at all and rush me off the phone.

8 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/09/2016

I received a recall notice from Ford telling me to bring the truck to the dealer to have the adaptive cruise control reprogrammed. I did have this work done. After the work was done I had an incident where I was passing an 18 wheeler and the truck set off the collision warning alarm and applied the brakes hard. If someone was following closely it would have been a collision. There was no traffic in my lane for at least 1/4 mile ahead. Ford has not been helpful in resolving this issue and their only suggestion is to turn off the adaptive cruise control. I paid a lot of money for what I feel is an important and useful safety feature and want Ford to fix the system so it will not malfunction and possibly cause a rear end collision.

9 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2006 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/23/2015

Morning of July 23,2015, I was driving about 25 mpr speed when number three spark plug blow out of the cylanderhead on my F-150 triton v8. Took it to the local machanic shop walton's. Three hours later, walton's had to replace and resleeve number three cylanderhead and replaced electrical sparkplug wire, plus replaced all eight spark plugs. All at a cost of $543. 00. Not only this happened to me but walton's stated that I was the 10th person this week this has happened too. I presented the part to my local Ford dealership where we bought the truck (hall's Ford motor company) brand new in 2006 and paid cash to the sum of $30,000. 00. I asked them if they know of this problem with triton v8's. They stated they did but no know recalls and they too had several repairs come in for the same thing in the pass week. They also stated that the Ford motor company was aware of this matter but never let there customers know about this problem yet because there was no recall on file to let them know. This thing where the spark plugs come flying out of an engine can be very hazards, it could cause a crash or even give a person a heart attack because the truck sounds like world war iii going off under the hood and it may even start a fire. This matter needs to be taken care of by Ford.

10 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/06/2015

Adaptive cuisse control falsely detects potential collision when passing semitruck (18-wheeler) on interstate/freeway highways as speed of 70mhp. The brakes are automatically applied and collision warning message goes off in the dashboard center screen. This happens very frequently when passing semitruck, to the point that I either disable the cruise or get ready to punch the accelerator in order to prevent a rear-end accident in case someone behind me.

11 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/02/2015

When passing a semi truck on the left (semi is to the right of me) using the adaptive cruise control function, the truck slammed on its brakes and said collision warning. Car behind me almost rear ended me. This happens intermittently like 6 times in 3 months and only happens when passing a large semi and the semi is to my right. Only happens in day time and even then, only sometimes happens.

12 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/13/2015

Adaptive cruise control was set and engaged on vehicle at 75 mph. My vehicle was traveling on inside lane of four lane divided highway and came up on slightly slower vehicle traveling in the same lane at around 70 mph. My vehicle slowed down and tracked the other vehicle for about a mile before coming up on a slower moving tractor trailer truck in the outside lane. As the vehicle in front on my truck passed the tractor trailer on the inside lane, it moved over in front of the tractor trailer to the outside lane to allow me to pass. Instead on speeding up to 75 mph, my truck started to brake before I disengaged the cruise control (around 65 mph). At that time, I was located beside the tractor trailer near the back of the trailer. A vehicle following me had to brake due my truck unexpected braking and slow down.

13 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/02/2015

When driving at night in the far left lane going 72 mph with the adaptive cruise control on, the truck randomly slammed on the brakes and the red crash indicator flashed although there was nothing in front of the truck. If someone was behind me, it is likely they would have rear ended my vehicle. There seems to be a defect in the auto cruise control, although Ford believes this behavior is normal.

14 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/25/2015

On my way home from the lake, my vehicle starting idling rough. Pulled over to check things out, couldn't find any noticable issues. Retarted vehicle and engine started smoking. I raised the hood and smoke was billowing out from the coil atop the number 2 spark plug, drivers side, looking from front to rear of engine. Had thevehicle towed to bill collins Ford of louisville,ky. They informed me that the spark plugs needed changing. Upon removal, 4 of the eight spark plugs broke off in the engine head. This cost me $857. 00 to change 8 spark plugs that normally I could do myself. The breaking of spark plugs in this type engine, 5. 4l triton, is a well known issue, that Ford motor company knew about. Yet they have yet to do a recall. Instead, they developed a tool to take these broken sprk plugs out, yet the consumer still has to pay sometimes upwards of $2,000. 00 for the repair. Ford used a substandard part in their vehicles and refuse to honor the customer. They no lonegr use that type engine, but anyone with a 5. 4l triton engine from Ford will have to pay a lot of money to change eight spark plugs when the time comes. I could not put my vehcile into gear when this happened, that seems like a safety concern to me!.

15 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

While the cruise is set and traveling on the interstate, in this case 70mph, when I pass an 18 wheeler the adaptive cruise control senses an imminent collision while passing the 18 wheeler in the left travel lane. The adaptive cruise immediately alerts and engages the brakes. Fortunately, this has not yet resulted in a rear end collision in my case however I'm sure at some point it will with owners of these vehicles. This has happened twice since I purchased the f150 in January(2015) and both occurrences happened while passing a tanker truck specifically and while in the left lane- tanker truck was in the right lane traveling at a slower speed perhaps around 60-65mph. This defect to me appears to be very dangerous because if my f150 engages the brakes for no reason and there were to be cars behind me a rear end accident could likely occur on the interstate. Ford has been very slow in responding to this safety concern and has not came up with a fix for this issue. Many on internet are voicing concern however are told by dealers that the system is functioning as designed and sent on their way.

16 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2011 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/01/2014

This afternoon I got into my vehicle. After starting my vehicle I then proceeded to turn my rear defroster on. Once I turned my rear defroster on I heard a loud pop and then noticed that my rear window was shattered. I believe that their is a defect in the rear defroster of my 2011 Ford F-150 because this same incident has happened before.

Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Ford f150. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, there was a loud noise and she stated that she didn't know what it was. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnosis. The mechanic stated that the catylic converter needed to replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 28,750. Kw.

18 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2013 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/17/2014

2013 Ford f150 ecoboost supercrew (157" wb) when loaded exhibits pulse/bucking/shaking when taking off from a stop. Noticeably worse as more load is applied. Vehicle is rate with payload of 1500 lbs and it only takes 200-300 lbs in the bed to feel it and when you have 700-800 lbs it literally bucks. Had at dealer multiple times and been in contact with Ford tech line who all say that no damage or safety issue exists and to live with it. I paid $42k for this vehicle and now I can't even put anything into the bed to to unsafe starts that are going to leave me stranded. To make matters worse the computer tries to compensate for the vibrations and starts to lower power causing it to not go which is dangerous in left hand turn situations. The tech said there was nothing they could do as Ford states these are known issues.

19 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2011 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 04/16/2014

It was a 20 degree morning so I decided to use the remote start to warm up my truck before I went to work. I climb into the truck and go to back out of the driveway and noticed the rear passenger side slider is shattered. I've never hauled anything in the bed so nothing would have came into contact with the window. After doing a little research, I discovered that there are plenty of Ford owners that this has happened, one gentleman had his child in the back when this happened! fortunately my children were not with me at the time the window shattered. Hopefully Ford will cover this being that it's $800, but I'm guessing they'll tell me it's not they're problem.

20 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2013 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/15/2014

Vehicle would repeat law battery message. Took to dealer battery tests good. Vehicle would sometimes die overnight with a no start condition in mourning. 6 dealer visits and one new battery, "no problem found" from dealer. This vehicle could strand you at any time. I have a open case from Ford but problem continues.

21 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 08/13/2013

This is my second window regulator to break. The first was the rear passenger window several months ago. While driving on expressway at 60 mph I heard a pop and then air noise. (I seldom use the rear windows. ) the mechanic had to replace regulator and motor because that was all the dealer had in stock. Today I had window down about an inch while parked. Got in truck and raised front passenger window and heard pop. I knew what the problem from last time and with talking to other Ford truck owners. A friend has the same model truck and has replace three of the four regulators in his Ford truck. When I began driving the window dropped. This truck has never been driven hard or off road. There has to be some flaw in these regulators. I am 66 years old and have owned many different makes and model of vehicles and this seems to be a common thread for these Ford trucks.

22 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2013 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 08/02/2013

Vehicle went in for service, issue with engine stutter, dealership did pcm re-flash and updated computer program for vehicle. When I went to pick up noticed a/c fan running at high speed and not cycling off. Dealership kept for two more days only to tell me it new procedure in programming. When ambient temp outside is about 93 or above, a/c fan kicks into high speed and stays on because of high head pressure on the a/c compressor. The problem is that it sometimes never goes off while you are driving. It's loud and presents a hazard because of the noise and the potential fire hazard it presents by overheating the fan motor. Ford tells me they put out a bulletin on the matter that basically says this is the new normal. I told them it's a hazard and an unacceptable fix. Please help me to resolve this issue with Ford to fix the matter rather to to put a band-aid on it!.

23 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2004 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/01/2011

The driver and passanger window regulator failure driverside window came crashing down when I was driving down the highway on 12/01/11 all I heard was a loud pop then no window almost wrecked cause of the sound then a week later the passanger side window did the same thing but after I tried to put the window up after I got back home the dealer states that there still are no recalls on this issue after all the complaints I read online that goes back 5yrs why isnt no one doing anything about this problem.

24 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2011 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 10/01/2011

The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the running boards were too narrow and slippery, causing her to slip when trying to enter the vehicle. The failure recurred whenever it rained or snowed. The manufacturer was notified but offered no assistance. A dealer was notified but offered no assistance. The failure and current mileages were 11,860.

25 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2006 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/28/2011

To start out, it should not cost $1249. 00 to change one spark plug. . . Due to Ford's design flaw on their motor craft spark plugs which causes th em to break extremely easy, I am being charged to tear down my entire engine to retreive one spark plug!!! this is Ford's fault and I feel they should be held liable for the cost of repair. I have been told by several mechanics that Ford designed their motor craft plugs to break!! Ford is also the only one who can fix the problem. It was not until I paid over $400. 00 to change 2 coil packs that I was hit with this price. This F-150 woulonly do 30-35 mph on the interstate highway. . . I could have been killed if I was hit from behind!! these spark plugs should be recalled and I should be reimbursed! my truck is still at the Ford dealership after a week. . . I already paid $126. 00 for my motor craft parts by cash even before taking my truck to them. This is not right on the part of Ford to design a vehicle like that. Please investigate this defect problem so others are not charged like I am being charged. Please recall these spark plugs !!!!.

26 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2009 Ford F-150

27 Adaptive Equipment problem of the 2010 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/29/2009

Problems incurred second day of driving. . . Into Ford dealer @ 1800 miles. . . Now 30,000. Severe transmission hits @ start & stop violent slamming between gears and when dowshifting complete slipage/disengagement when backing up slight grade. Left front brake drags with wheel sliding on ice-snow, brake linings smoke and smell and rotor 386 degrees with others @ 124-160. In to 3-different Ford dealerships a total of 6 times and with factory Ford technician once and told twice by Ford dealer shop managers that there is nothing they can. . . Will do. "all" say they've re-programmed the transmission and cleared the learning curve. No codes stored or seen. . . . Ford has tried to tell me basically. . . I'm nuts and everything is fine. . . Have four written statements of other drivers of my truck as to what they've incurred. . . Makes no differenc. Have filed with bbb and going to arbitration, which from what all the other Ford f150 owners are saying. . . Will be an exercise in futility. . . And time. Have given Ford diagrams showing transmission problems. . . . Have given Ford written and verbal descriptiions of under what conditions it happens and to drive under same and expierence for themselves. . . They "all" refuse to enter my complete descriptions onto work order or drive it under conditions described. Have no idea why 3-400,000 Ford f150 owners do not file a class action. . . Only way Ford will respond. . . . . . . . . Will not. . . Cannot drive on ice/snow for fear of losing control when both brake and transmission problems may occur.
