Ford consumer affairs was sent a letter with this information, too. My 2018 f150 truck had issues with the 10 speed transmission. It’s been jumping, skipping gear, down shifting for no reason. Yesterday, 12/28/25, we were returning home from a holiday trip on I-95’s left lane of the highway when the truck down-shifted from 10th gear to around 3rd or 4th gear spiking the rpm to over 5,000 rpm’s for no reason on 3 different occasions. We had to move to the right lane after the 3rd time due to the wrench light coming on and the transmission temperature gauge maxed out at super hot and turn on the hazards due to only doing 50 mph in a 70 mph highway until we could exit. This was dangerous in so many ways due to the volume of traffic on the highway. Downshifting that much instantly was like slamming on brakes with no break lights. We were verry lucky not getting rear ended and causing a possibly tragic situation. Thankfully, we did not get into an accident. There were a lot of cars on the road, as many families were returning home. This is happening all over the USA with the 10 speed transmission and may eventually cause a tragic accident on the road. We took it to the cocoa Ford dealership on 12/29/25 and the diagnostic paper states they 'performed a koeo self test and found pq7f7 for gear 10 incorrect ratio. Verified fluid vented out of top of transmission. Tech rec overhaul. All one time use parts and rear main seal. Trans cooler. Due to parts/labor cost recommend assembly replacement. '.

Affected vehicle: drivers side door latch stopped latching entirely in frozen conditions and then thawed conditions. A frozen door latch, or a bent or kinked door latch actuation cable, may result in a door that will not open, will not close, or opens while driving condition, increasing the risk of injury. This year needs to be added to the recall. Recall 17s33.

I had just gotton on route 5 north from the agawam rotary. After I merged onto route 5 I drove a short distance then I heard a loud noise from the rear of my vehicle. Immediately after the loud noise my rear end kicked out and I lost complete control of my truck. I hit the brakes and tried to slightly counter steer and I still had absolutely no control over the truck. I then proceeded to go over a straight edge bridge curbing and then a bridge guardrail. I did not hit any potholes, their were none and I was driving in a straight line at approximately 40 mph. My truck was hanging over the bridge.
I just left my house didn't go no more than a mile and my pickup truck burnt to the ground for no reason at all. Total loss.

I left my house going to the store about a mile and never made it my 2013f150 5. 0 engine caught on fire about a block behind the saratoga txfire department before they could make it the truck front end burnt to the ground and melted hood plum off of it for no reason at all total loss.
In June 2025 and again in December 2025, when my truck stopped at a red traffic light and I applied my brakes to stop the vehicle, my two rear wheels/tires started to spin rapidly non-stop for 60 seconds or the duration of the traffic light, causing a great deal of smoke and noise. My truck acted like a "drag racing" machine on a short track revving its engine and spinning its tires for a very short burst of speed down the track. Cars behind me kept their distance and I thought my truck would bolt forward at any time causing a serious accident. I applied my brakes as firmly as possible, praying my truck would not lose control and bolt forward into the lane of traffic. In June, my mechanic thoroughly inspected my vehicle for four hours, going on a test drive, pulled off all the wheels and checked every pertinent component, ran 3 diagnostic code assessments and found nothing. When it happened again on December 11, 2025, I contacted another mechanic who told me he could not address the issue since it was a known Ford issue and to contact NHTSA and Ford (pe25-002). Finally, there were no warning lights on my dashboard when it happened during these two incidents.

My f150 2023, while driving at slower speeds on four different occasions while applying the brakes, the truck will start accelerating all on its own! I contacted a Ford dealer and they verified on their end that the truck has done this. I have also read from other owners having this same situation.

I was driving the vehicle this morning; the temperature was about 16 degrees freiheit outside and the truck had been sitting out all night. I had the heater on and the rear defroster on. I drove the truck for about 2 minutes on a 25 mph residential street and heard a loud bang. I continued to drive the truck and noticed the driver side pane of the rear sliding glass window had shattered. I did some research online and found several reports from individuals with f-series trucks that have reported similar incidents.

“I need to file a complaint because two dealerships refused to perform the required diagnostic for federal safety recall 19s07 on my F-150. They stated they will not replace the lead frame under any circumstance, even if the recall-related oss failure damaged it. Both dealers refused the mandatory recall procedure. My truck is showing all recall symptoms, including speedometer dropouts, prndl flashing, gear indicator cycling, and erratic shifting. I need Ford to contact the dealership and authorize proper recall handling. ”**.
The first indication of problems came when I tried to put the truck in gear and I noticed that the reverse light didn't come on and it wouldn't engage into the gear then as I was traveling down a three-lane highway in the middle lane the car started jerking and like it didn't want to go and then I got to a red light and the truck would not move so I was stuck in the central lane but after engaging the gear several times I managed to get the vehicle into a gas station parking lot where I call the dealership after finding out that I had the trouble code that was referred in the recall and the vehicle was towed to duval I mean it was told to hogan forward on atlantic boulevard . Where it's now under inspection.

The rear windshield spontaneously exploded while the vehicle was stationary. I confirmed this was not caused by any impact or debris. There have been several other reports on various websites of this issue, across multiple models including the f150 and bronco, and potentially being caused by faulty wiring of the rear defroster. Ford has not issued a recall and will not accept responsibility for this defect.

Water intrusion into the body control module (bcm) caused multiple safety-related electrical failures. The horn no longer functions, traction control activates and deactivates while driving, exterior lights remain on after vehicle shutdown, and the battery must be disconnected to turn off headlights. The issue presents a safety concern while operating the vehicle. Ford motor company was notified and documented the concern but declined assistance due to no active recall or program.
Problem description: the rear sliding window track on my Ford F-150 has detached / become loose, causing the window to rattle, misalign, and leak water into the cabin. While there is a TSB (ssm 50337) for window rattling, my truck’s issue is more severe, creating a potential safety hazard if the window detaches while driving or allows water damage to electrical components. Additional info: •occurs under normal driving conditions •photos/video available for review •this issue may affect other F-150s with sliding rear windows desired outcome: investigation and determination if this defect warrants a recall or service bulletin to prevent safety hazards.
The rear glass panel of the panoramic sunroof on my 2024 Ford F-150 (approximately 8,800 miles) suddenly and spontaneously shattered while I was driving. There was a single upward-pointing fracture near the front-center of the panel, and the rest of the glass fragmented outward from that point. There was no impact, no debris, no nearby vehicles, and no physical evidence of anything striking the roof or surrounding areas. No objects were found inside the vehicle. The sunroof is available for inspection upon request. This failure created an immediate safety risk. The shattered panel was directly above my two children seated in the rear, and falling glass fragments posed a significant danger of injury. A sudden overhead glass failure also presents a hazard to other drivers if fragments are expelled from the vehicle. There were no signs or symptoms before the breakage. The Ford dealership inspected the vehicle but did not identify any impact damage and did not confirm a cause. The failure has not been reproduced, but I found multiple similar reports from other Ford owners, suggesting this may be consistent with spontaneous internal stress failure of the tempered glass. Given the complete lack of impact evidence and the serious safety risk to occupants and other motorists, I am reporting this as a panoramic sunroof safety defect.

Fords around the 2017 year have an issue with their backup cameras not working which is the issue mine is having. When putting truck in reverse backup camera is fully fuzzy with green lines or just goes fully back. It still beeps and can detect something close, but the actual camera doesn't work anymore.
Vehicle was sitting in driveway running. I turned on the front and rear defroster to clear windows before driving. Approximately 60 seconds after turning on rear defroster, the back window shattered. Multiple reports online indicate this is a common occurrence in F-150 and should be looked into further.
The rear camera goes blank when put in reverse. The screen shows "rear camera not available". There were multiple recalls for rear view camera system but my year and model is not included. A lot of same complaints on the web regarding the same issue.

My 2025 F-150 tremor (5. 0 v8, 402a package with modular front bumper) has a large open area in the front bumper. Through this opening you can clearly see the front of the engine and related components. This appears to be a design issue rather than a one-off build problem. Other 2025 tremor owners with the same 402a modular bumper are reporting the same concern and asking whether a cover is missing from the factory. My concern is that the exposed opening could allow rocks, road debris, or off-road obstacles to directly impact vital components at highway speed or when driving on rough/uneven surfaces. This may increase the risk of damage, fluid leaks, or sudden loss of power/steering if components are struck. It also appears inconsistent with typical under-engine protection on off-road-oriented trims. I am asking NHTSA to review whether this bumper configuration provides adequate protection for critical components on the 2025 F-150 tremor and whether a design change or shield/plate is needed for safety.
I was just stopped at a red light and took foot off pedal and the vehicle didn't restart. The instrument cluster showed a warning saying "auto startstop shift to p then restart". This has happened 4-5 times in the past month.
Truck was in golden auto electric for transmission replacement and wheel bearing replacement. When the truck was purchased from rightway auto of gaylord there was a bolt missing from left side wheel hub assembly. Wheel hub assembly and transmission was replaced. An oil change garage informed me that there was a missing bolt on wheel hub assembly that was replace.
I recieved the recall. It states parts are available. I called my dealer in cortex, CO and was told they could not get the part to perform the repair.
Hello. I need to open a formal escalation regarding a serious safety recall on my 2025 Ford F-150 lariat hybrid. The recall is - rear axle half-shaft and hub assembly replacement. I contacted two dealerships: metro Ford and pines Ford. Both told me to just wait without giving any estimated date for part availability. Both dealerships also refused to provide a loaner vehicle while the recall remains open, even though this is a safety-related issue. One advisor even told me to continue driving the truck despite the possibility of axle failure or wheel separation. That is unacceptable. I do not feel safe operating this vehicle. I already filed an official safety complaint with NHTSA because this recall has been ignored for months, and I was denied safe transportation. I need this case escalated immediately to a regional customer service manager. I am requesting: a clear timeline and eta for the part, a loaner vehicle until the repair is completed, or a repurchase/replacement review if the recall cannot be resolved in a reasonable timeframe. Please create a case number and assign it to a regional manager. Thank you.
After entering my 2022 f150 lariat in a parking lot and starting it, I placed my iphone on the charger and I backed out of the spot I was in with my hazard lights turned on. I placed the vehicle in drive and turned off the hazard lights. As I pulled forward, a deafening sound came from the back seat of my truck that sounded like some kind of electric static with a popping noise. I reflexively pressed the break, ducked my head and tried to turn the volume knob down which did nothing. I pressed the stop/start button to shut the vehicle off and that did not change the sound coming from the door speakers. I jumped out of the truck because the sound was painful and proceeded to use a pair of pliers from a leatherman that I was carrying to disconnect the positive side of the battery; this too did nothing. At this point, I closed all of doors and searched the web on my phone to see if similar problems existed for other owners and if there was a fix. After about 8-10 minutes, the sound stopped. Based on what I read, this was a widely known issue on Ford f150 models between the years 2021-2024. Apparently, Ford has not responded to this yet. If this we’re to happen while driving, it’s would be shocking enough to cause a reflexive action that could put people in danger of a crash. I have video of this occurrence if needed.
Vehicle: 2013 Ford F-150 supercrew cab component: rear defroster / rear window assembly summary of issue: rear window glass shattered while driving when rear defroster was in use. Detail of incident: on November 2, 2025, at approximately 5:00 am, I was driving my 2013 Ford F-150 supercrew cab at approximately 65 mph on the highway near mogadore, ohio. The vehicle had been operating for around 45 minutes without issue. The outside temperature was about 43°f. I had the rear window defroster and side mirror defrosters activated. Without any impact, warning lights, prior cracks, or outside interference, the rear glass pane directly behind the driver’s seat shattered suddenly and completely while I was driving. There were no vehicles near me, and I inspected the glass immediately afterward and found no evidence of anything striking the vehicle. The failure occurred instantaneously and with a loud sound, which created a risk of driver distraction and could have resulted in loss of control or injury from breaking glass. After researching, I found that this issue is widely reported by other owners of Ford F-150 models online, particularly involving the rear defroster causing excessive localized heating and thermal stress, which leads to spontaneous glass failure. Many owners report similar conditions: cold ambient temperature + rear defroster activated. The glass was replaced at my own expense, approximately $800. Receipts and photographs are available upon request. The issue was not covered by recall, warranty, or insurance. The problem has not been addressed by Ford despite multiple consumer reports. Safety concern: this defect presents a serious safety hazard because the sudden shattering is loud, distracting, and may send glass fragments into the cabin. It could easily lead to loss of vehicle control or injury to occupants. The failure occurred under normal and intended use of the rear defroster system. Request: I am submitting this report to request that nhts.
The rear camera view displays the warning "the camera is not available" on the screen. A blurry, distorted flickering image is displayed on the screen. This is the same thing I see with my 2016 Ford fusion, whose camera has been recalled. I'm not sure if this is an intermittent issue or not, but yesterday it was a persistent issue.
Customer states that the frame of the vehicle has been compromised by corrosion. The vehicle only has 163,844 miles on it and it has major holes in the frame. The chassis could break in half prohibiting the use of this vehicle on the roadway due to the safety of occupants. I advised the customer of this of which they bought a frame repair kit (pre-cut over frame c-channel steel) to weld onto the frame to support a longer lifespan. The truck is now safe for the roadway.

Severe rust on frame, both sides. Mechanic refused to do service until rust situation is remediated. Said vehicle is unsafe to drive!.
The rear backup camera works off and on, as demonstrated by the attached pictures. It has been working in this manner for the past couple of years. It will work properly for long periods of time then go for days in the distorted mannger. The pictures taken were over a one day period. The worst part is that it acts up in the most inappropriate times. There is no specific reason for the camera to not work. No wiring is loose and the system has all appropriate updates. I suspect it falls along the same lines as all of the other recalls foe these cameras. I asked the dealership, which performs all maintenance on my vehicle, to check it out under the recall but they refuse and offer to charge me for repairs, which is why I am filing this notice.
Backup camera failure after dealer replaced entire interior main body harness.
Ford has issued a TSB 22-2372 regarding the rear camera image going blank when placing the vehicle in reverse. This issue clears by restarting the vehicle. The cause is a software error in the image processing module and sync 4 system. The danger is backing up without being able to see anything besides what is in your mirrors without the software update to fix the issue. Numerous children have already died because of vehicles without the safety of a back-up camera. I took my vehicle to the dealership to have it fixed and was quoted almost $1000 dollars to update the software. I complained and the dealership forwarded my complaint to Ford who gave "assistance" bringing the bill to $361 dollars. My question is why a mandatory recall hasn't been ordered for this obvious safety issue? luckily, I can easily pay this but what about those who cannot? I asked Ford (case #cxh-xxx) why they are not providing the fix for free since it is a safety issue and they used the excuse of the warranty being expired. Hopefully NHTSA will make Ford fix this safety issue for fellow consumers. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

The voice recognition quit working on my Ford sync. When I took it in for diagnosis, an update was attempted by the Ford dealer and wiped out my system, which means I have no back up camera, no radio, no usb ports, etc. I was told this is something I have to pay for to get repaired. The primary safety concern is, according to the dealer, the update cause the apim module to fail, which means I no longer have a back up camera unless I pay for the repair.
