About 1 hour into a commute, I attempted to connect to a call while using the car play function of the sync system. Upon connection, the speakers blasted as loud as they could possibly go, a terrible pulsing static sounds that scared me and the passenger and almost caused us to have an accident. The volume knob was indicating 0 and would not move and I could not lower the volume of the terrible sound. I pulled over and tried to restart the car a few times, but the sound would not stop until I left the car off for about 10 minutes. I've not connected my phone via bluetooth or car play since for fear that the sound may return when I am not expecting it, startle me and cause an accident. Though I am not certain of the cause. After about 10 minutes of the sound, I also noticed that the speakers were getting hot and I could smell the electronics or wiring overheating. I have a video of the sound but the dealer could not replicate it.

I recently ought a 2022 Ford F-150 off of a private seller. It had a clean carfax when I bought it. About a month after I bought the truck, on July 24, 2025, the following warning lights appeared on my dash all on the same day. Blind spot assist not available, cross traffic assist not available, and reverse brake assist not available. Also, my drivers side window would not roll down, and my drivers side lock/unlock buttons would not work. There were not any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. So I took my truck into gary smith Ford in fort walton beach, FL. On July 25, 2025 and they came back with the file I have uploaded below with the diagnosis and estimate. Of course the warranty has just expired a few months ago. We tried to make a claim with our insurance company and that was denied. I have also reached out to Ford customer service and they refused to help in any way. We were also never offered a loaner vehicle and my truck has been at the dealership for three weeks now. I am currently active duty military and this is now effecting my ability to report for duty, and causing my leadership to question me. It is also effecting my family as we now only have one vehicle. As you can see in the link below, the estimate is quite high. And it is extremely frustrating that Ford has refused to help in any way, and will not provide any logical reason as to why except that the warranty is expired. Especially since this isn't my fault at all. Any help in rectifying this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Somehow my daughter engaged park assist. She put her foot on brake and with it still on the break truck began reversing and do not stop till we ran over a mailbox. We even tried to turn wheel.
The vehicle is consuming oil at a 1 quart per 1100 mile rate. I have had it tested at a Ford dealer. There is technical service bulletin (TSB) 19-2365 for the year, make and model but Ford isnt offering a repair. The repair is approximately $14,000. 00 that should not be the consumers responsibility. Please help get a recall issued.

This is regarding Ford's known issue with their evaporator cited in TSB 22-2089. The evaporator caused a compressor to fail, which caused a power train failure notification in sync and on the phone app. The compressor is under warranty, but the evaporator is not, which causes a $3600 repair (parts and labor). According to the bulletin, the evaporator known issue is not considered a threat to life, even though it certainly is a threat to life to not have air conditioning in hotter states. The part is currently being replaced at our local dealership.
17 July 2025- vehicle did not start, instrument cluster blacked out, infotainment screen blacked out. Disconnected/reconnected battery myself everything worked. 21 July 2025- instrument cluster blacked out, disconnected/reconnected battery myself, everything worked, dealership still towed vehicle in to diagnose. Same day dealership said the battery was "a little low" so they put a small charge on it and everything checked out fine. They said when I disconnect/reconnect the battery the codes are reset. So I should hope that the issue does not happen again but if it does, don't disconnect/reconnect the battery. 25 July 2025- instrument cluster blacked out, drove straight to dealership where the service writer witnessed the issue and started a service file. Codes were pulled and in just the four days since it was last in the dealership there were multiple codes recorded (appx 40 over the four days). Diagnosis was a bad instrument cluster/computer module that is attached. It was replaced and vehicle returned 04 August 2025. 05 August 2025- instrument cluster blacked out, drove straight to the dealership, where service writer, service manager, and parts manager all witnessed the same issue. Started another service file. As of the writing of this information, 08 August 2025, the vehicle is still in the shop.

While driving through an intersection, my truck unexpectedly shut down. An error message appeared on the dashboard stating: "auto start/stop – shift to p, then restart engine. " I was in a lane with oncoming traffic at the time, so I had to come to a complete stop, shift the vehicle into park, and restart the engine. After restarting, the truck resumed normal operation and I was able to continue driving.
Water leak coming from above head speakers when raining apparently cause by faulty sunroof and/or components of sunroof. Can potentially cause a serious safety issue if water drips into the face/eyes of vehicle operator when driving. Dealer service center unable to reproduce the problem but consistently happens with significant rain. Dealer states a drain was not properly connected and was repaired but leak has not been fixed. Vehicle has been looked at two times by the dealer and they were unable to find the cause of the problem. No warning messages were given from the vehicle.
The 8" digital cluster has gone blank. I cannot see any gauges, mileage, fuel or warnings messages. This is a major safety issue that should not be on the owner and should be covered by a recall. I brought it to the dealer to perform a test on the cluster and they came back saying it would need a replacement for $1800. A digital cluster should last the life of a vehicle not go out in the first 3 years just out of warranty.
Truck has been at Ford dealership since July 9th for this recall. After updating the computer as mentioned in the recall, a “trailer brake fault” was displayed and we were left with no trailer brakes while towing our camper. It has beyond a “reasonable amount of time” to get this safety issue fixed. Compaign recall number: 25s15/25v132.
After receiving a call from mullinax Ford in mobile, al regarding a recall for our 2014 Ford F-150 raptor (recall related to unexpected downshifting), I brought the vehicle to my workplace on [xxx], where a technician performed the software update (flash) on-site. Before the update, the vehicle was functioning without issue. That same evening while driving home, I experienced extremely hard downshifting, initially in lower gears, and worsening over time. The truck now violently downshifts, primarily into 4th gear, and sounds as if the transmission is slipping. I drove the truck again the next morning and the symptoms persisted. I contacted zachary, the original representative at the dealership, who said it may be part of the “relearning” process. My husband drove it a week later after returning from a business trip and he confirmed the issue. It has progressively worsened to the point of being undrivable. We returned the truck to mullinax Ford for evaluation on 7/29/25, and they claimed the failure was unrelated to the update and that the transmission needed to be replaced, at our expense. The truck unpredictably drops gears at high speeds, creating a sudden jerk that could lead to loss of control. This poses a serious safety risk to both the driver and others on the road. The dealership performed the recall software update and later diagnosed the truck with transmission failure, but is denying responsibility. No other third-party inspections have been done at this time. There were no warning lights or issues prior to the update. The issue started immediately after the recall software was flashed and worsened over the next 24–48 hours. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and available for inspection. We believe the issue stems directly from the pcm/tcm update applied under recall conditions. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

A few months ago, my 2021 f150 started sending me repeating dashboard messages that there's a front camera fault and service is requested followed up with a message about how the pre-collision assist is not available. It's bad enough that this is a problem on a late model vehicle, but my real gripe is that the message repeats over and over non-stop, with a repeating chime to go along with it. It is a terrible distraction for a feature that I've never needed in a vehicle. I asked the Ford dealership about this issue, they said that it would be several thousand dollars to replace and calibrate. So now I'm stuck with a truck that chimes and flashes messages, over and over, every time I drive it. I can provide video evidence of the issue.
Transmission downshifts while driving transmission stays in first gear transmission bangs wrench appears on dash all control is lost.

Description: on July 7, 2025, I purchased this vehicle from autonation spring, texas. At the time of sale, the dealership did not disclose that there was an active safety recall on this vehicle. I only learned of the recall after the purchase, when I checked the VIN through NHTSA’s website. The recall remains open and unresolved as of today’s date. The arizona autonation dealership has had possession of the vehicle for service since shortly after the sale, but no recall repair has been completed. I was never informed at the time of sale that this safety defect existed or that repairs were outstanding. I am concerned that the vehicle was sold in violation of federal and/or state consumer protection laws regarding safety recall disclosures. I request NHTSA’s review and investigation into whether this dealership and manufacturer have complied with all requirements for recall handling and notification. --- key points for NHTSA’s file: date of purchase: July 7, 2025. Selling dealer: autonation spring, texas. Recall was active at time of sale. Recall was not disclosed to buyer. Vehicle remains in dealership possession with recall still open.
I was driving on the PA turnpike and upon hitting a pothole or bump the mount on the frame that the lower control arm bolts onto broke off. I was going under the speed limit with two small children in the car and a piece of my frame broke off after a slight bump. Every mechanic and person I speak to at Ford is saying it shouldn't have happened and they can't believe it. There was no warning and I drove onto the turnpike got almost all the way home before it randomly broke. I spoke with Ford and they are unwilling to help after running my VIN. They say unless I put a complaint in and you open a recall that they will not help me. This is a 2017 truck with minimal rust it should not be breaking off a simple bump on the highway. I had a 9 year old and a 10 month old in the car and the front left of my suspension broke away from the vehicle after routine driving. Something needs to be done about the situation Ford should be more concerned they have a frame break on such a new vehicle. Thank you for your time.
When driving for a hour ac shuts off and only blows warm air. Had everything tested and comes out perfect they can’t find an issue. Happened multiple times but reporting the most recent.
Back up camera does not work blank blue screen or freezes up or graney view can't see any possible hazards behind vehicle.
Back up camera is foggy, can't make out objects, when it rains hard and your backing up camera alert signal goes off even if nothing is there. When rain stops and there are a few dry days of weather the camera is still foggy and unable to make out objects. The service department can examine the camera and easily see the problem. The camera has no clear picture.

I have a power rear window, the tracks that hold the window in place have fallen loose to the point the window leans inward and which in turn wind and rain are coming in causing the interior is getting wet. This will damage the inside of the truck making repair costly.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -the electrical system malfunctioned causing a complete system failure and shutdown of the vehicle. The vehicle came to a sudden stop in an intersection and could not be moved. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -the vehicle instantly died going through an intersection causing the steering column to lock up, the parking brake to engage and transmission to remain in drive while the vehicle was stopped without any power. This was a sudden and abrupt stop where all control over the vehicle was lost, and I came to an immediate stop in the middle of an intersection. The vehicle would not restart. I could not disengage the parking brake to move the vehicle out of the intersection due to the complete loss of power. The transmission would not shift into neutral due to the complete loss of power. The hazard lights would not turn on due to the complete loss of power. If this happened on the interstate, I would have very likely been in a serious life threatening /taking accident. This is as big of a near miss that I can think of, and only because it happened on a neighborhood street when no other vehicles were approaching from in front or behind. This is a major safety issue. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -the vehicle is currently at the dealer for a diagnostic review. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -in process at the Ford dealership were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -the vehicle had been running for 30-45 minutes prior to this happening without any warning lights / symptoms.
Wrench displayed today, transmission was hard shifting trying to go in and out of gear.
A piece of reflective cloth like material has fallen from underside of truck bed and onto tailpipe and begun to burn. This creates a fire hazard for anybody using this vehicle. I have two of these similar trucks and it’s happening to both of them before 500 miles. I don’t know if the issue has been verified of reproduced by anybody. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the dealer or manufacturer. There were no warning lamps or symptoms prior to me finding this by chance as I was replacing a wheel.
The transmission in my 2020 Ford F-150 (10-speed automatic) has exhibited ongoing and dangerous shifting issues. While driving at normal speeds, the transmission frequently shifts hard between gears, surges, or delays engagement, especially between 2nd and 4th gear. On multiple occasions, the vehicle has jerked violently when slowing to a stop or accelerating from a red light. There have also been sudden rpm spikes and power loss without warning. The issue began around July 2025 [125,000 miles] and has continued. The safety of myself and others has been at risk due to the vehicle lunging forward at unpredictable times. This behavior has made it unsafe to merge into traffic or stop smoothly. No warning lamps have appeared, but the problem is reproducible. I believe this may be related to ongoing class actions regarding Ford’s 10r80 transmission. The issue has not been fully addressed by Ford, despite similar complaints from other owners.
Dear sir/madam, I own a 2016 Ford F-150. Over the past few months the vehicle will suddenly hesitate and downshift while driving and the mechanics symbol will appear on the dashboard. This happened to me a few times. At the end of June I had two different mechanics look at the vehicle and both kept the truck for a couple of days and drove it around and neither one could see a problem. I drove the vehicle from rhode island to pennsylvania and this happened 4 times during the trip driving on the highway!!!! it then happened again (with a witness in the vehicle) while driving. I could have been killed driving 70 mph on the highway during these times that the vehicle hesitated and downshifted. I researched possible recalls that I might have missed and learned of the investigation into by NHTSA by other consumers and I contacted Ford. When I spoke to Ford and filed my complaint I let them know I knew about the investigation by NHTSA and told them I could have been killed. It has been two weeks and I have yet to hear from them. I would like my vehicle repaired free of charge. We paid thousands of dollars for that truck and since this is a safety issue it should be recalled. Please contact me if you have any other questions. Thank you. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I was driving through rain on [xxx] and my truck was having trouble shifting in 4x4 mode. An error message appeared stating "4x4 service needed". I clicked ok and the message went away. Due to driving, I was unable to take a photo of the error message. When I called maguires Ford where I purchased the vehicle, they told me this message meant the system could malfunction and that I needed to bring the vehicle in ASAP. At first they told me there was no history of the error message and since they could not pull a code, there was nothing they could do. After reviewing a second time, they verified the error message did appear but they could still not pull a code so there wasn't anything they could do. They said most likely the rain got into the module and caused the system to malfunction. I asked how rain would get into the module and they didn't answer the question. No further investigation was completed and they told me to take the vehicle home. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
*transmission downshifted while traveling 15 mph *unsafe condition traveling on roadway *temporary loss of control *wrench appeared, shifted hard into first gear.
Backup camera stopped working on [xxx] right before Ford issued a recall notice for a backup camera issue related to a software update, but this VIN is not included. This seems highly coincidental. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
While driving my 2023 Ford F-150 XLT through a parking lot at low speed, I attempted to stop and shift into reverse to avoid a tight turn between parked vehicles. With my foot firmly on the brake, I shifted into reverse—though the gear shift was abnormally resistant. The system indicated the vehicle was in reverse. Despite keeping my foot on the brake, the truck suddenly and forcefully accelerated on its own, overriding my braking input. It collided with two parked vehicles before I was able to bring it to a stop by turning off the engine. The vehicle continued to accelerate even while I applied firm pressure to the brake pedal, which depressed all the way to the floor and failed to stop the truck. At no point did I press the gas pedal. After impact, the gear shift remained in reverse with a blinking red light. No airbags deployed. This was an extremely dangerous situation that could have seriously injured someone had they been standing nearby. Additionally, for some time leading up to the incident, I noticed increasing difficulty shifting gears even with the brake fully depressed. At times when in park the light for other gear modes would turn on. indicating the vehicle may be in another mode other than park. the brake pedal has also felt inconsistent, often requiring unusually deep and forceful pressure to stop, whether on highways, city streets, or in parking lots. This appears to be a critical failure of both the braking and transmission systems. I am extremely concerned for my safety and that of other Ford drivers. I am requesting a formal investigation into this matter.

This 2014 pickup was started at about 8:00 am and the manager went inside the building for a few minutes, (less than 5). A vender that was delivered petroleum product saw that the truck was smoking and on fire in the cab and he told the technicians in the shop who ran out with fire extinguishers to put the fire out. The doors had locked automatically with the keys inside the vehicle. A spare set of keys were acquired shortly and the vehicle was opened with the key. The vehicle was turned off and the hood was popped. A fire extinguisher was deployed while another technician disconnected the battery which then extinguished the fire. The heater motor had melted out of the dash and the dash had started on fire. The dealer was notified and we were told to call Ford and report to our insurance. We are self insured so there is no one to report to. There were no symptoms, problems leading up to this thermal event. The vehicle has 78,000 miles on it and is in great mechanical shape. I have reported it to Ford motor company and they gave me a case number [xxx] pictures information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
