Radio/tape Cd Player Problems of Ford F-150

On several occasion I have started my 2018 Ford F-150 and the navigation screen does not come on, so when I put it in reverse I have no backup camera picture. And while not safety related all the other functions associated with the naviagation screen are not operable (e. G. No navigation, radio controls, etc. ) after driving the vehicle and turning it off the next time I start the vehicle the navigation screen works.

The sync system fails to turn and/or shuts off without warning during vehicle use. The sync system includes navigation, bluetooth capabilities, radio, etc. My sync system has not worked for over 10 days now. A quick search online makes it apparent that this is a widespread issue over several different Ford models and several different years.

The sync 3 systems functions poorly or not at all. Often times it stalls, freezes or becomes unresponsive which can cause the following to happen. The screen goes black and I am unable to adjust the climate or use the radio. All functions are disabled. The screen get stuck with the backup camera on and all of the controls are disabled, including the climate control. The screen is unresponsive to the touch and the climate control, radio and all other functions do not work. The navigation gets stuck on the screen and the location is inaccurate and you cannot make other changes, including to the climate control. It does not matter if the vehicle is in motion or stationary as the sync 3 system does not function either way. This happens about every time I drive the vehicle but I had to enter a single date in the system. I asked the dealer about this but their response was "did you get the extended warranty?".

Back of camera screen failed. When putting truck in reverse the screen is blank. This same screen also displays the radio, and it is also blank. Happens when stationary or moving. At first the screen would go out, and after you drove the car and turned it off it would work again. Then it started to get fuzzy, and finally it went completely out. Unsafe if backing up unless you are aware that the back up camera screen is not working. I am the original owner and brought it to the attention of the dealer when it first happen when under warranty but because it was not failing they stated they would not be able to diagnose the problem, unfortunately for me it failed out of warranty and I paid to have this fix but I feel others may be having similar problems. If there is an issue perhaps this can be adverted for the future for other people .

On 5 separate occasions the dash display stopped working. Radio/cd player/backup camera would not work at all. The main concern is backing up at night in a crowded parking lot with the back of my truck loaded for a 9 day camping trip. I can not see out any of the camper shell windows at all. I could hit a parked vehicle or a pedestrian. This has happened 5 separate times.

Radio stops working causing the hands free phone, clock, and everything on the microsoft sync control panel to stop working. First time the vehicle was moving. The second time it was stationary. Dealer suggested disconnecting the battery to reset everything which worked for about a week then continues to do the same thing.

Rear glass shattered due to rear defrost shorting out. Started truck after some freezing rain and turned on the rear defrost. Started to go down the road and about 10 mins later on the highway I hear what sounded like a shot gun blast. The glass had shattered but was still in place. I taped it up. I do not have the money to replace this. This is a design flaw that could cause a serious accident.

Exhaust smell in cab. Have to drive with windows down to get rid of it. Ford says they can only help me when the smell is actually happening meaning I have to go to the shop right then and there. Also xm radio cuts in at out. Ford knows it's an issue but has no fix. It's at the same intersections everyday. They said keep checking in for possible fixed.

Just had my 2012 f150 fx4 super crew appearance package rear window shatter. Last night my truck is sitting all by its self on a flat surface I hit the automatic start as I'm walking out to my truck it's about 22 deg f out I hear this loud pop didn't know what it was then in the morning I noticed my right rear window was shattered. Hopefully Ford will cover this if not there's a chance my aftermarket warranty will or I will file a collision claim through my insurance. The seames to be an ongoing problem with these trucks and Ford should take the responsibility to correct it. I love my f150 have had it since brand new it's been great up until now besides the radio modular need replaced when it was just over a year old. Warranty took care of that no problem.

I started my 2012 F-150 and activated the front and rear defrosters. While idling in a driveway, I heard a loud pop, looked around and realized my passenger side rear windshield panel had shattered spider web style. Luckily I turned off the defroster in time and was able to duct tape the broken window. Unfortunately, tiny splinters of glass were already on my rear passenger seat, and I got some in my hands from taping it up. Thank god nobody was sitting in that seat. Temperature was low 40s, I was trying to get rid of a slight frost.

Getting on the interstate with my daughter and wife in truck and the gas pedal is stuck, there was no where to pull over so I took the next exit and put truck in n and shut it off. This was at 4000 miles. Called dealership they said they really couldn't help because there was no code. Then a few months later it happened again on the highway, this time we could pull over and my wife video taped it and took back to dealership and demanded something be done. They replaced the gas pedal in hopes that it works. This happened at 8000 miles. Also the rear passenger door doesn't latch in freezing temps. The dealership couldn't find a problem so it was not fixed.

Driving on interstate doing 70 mph (in fast lane) when truck stopped/stalled and I guess from research went into "limp mode". I was unable to press the gas pedal, it just shook three times each of which slowed it down incredibly, the check engine light was on and a wrench showed up, but the radio still worked. While trying to pull over almost wrecked (memorial day weekend and I was in fast lane). Finally able to pull over to side of road hysterical, shut off and waited a minute and it started. Drove rest of way home miles* with check engine light on and abs light on. I am scared to death to drive again. Not fun having a vehicle stall/quit whatever on interstate in rush hour traffic.

Got up and it was frosty and 24 digress outside so I remotely started my F-150 Ford truck went out 10 min later and got on drivers seat and heard a loud bang as if rock had hit windshield. Got out looked all around but did not see what had caused the loud noise finally gave up and went about my day. The next day about noon I looked in my rear view mirror and seen the rear window behind driver was shattered in million pieces but still in place. Window is also tinted so hard to see from outside. Took clear packaging tape and put several pieces on inside and outside to keep intact for now. Went to put preasure on tape to adhere to pieces and got several fine cuts in fingers. Contacted Ford sealed and said first time he had heard of this happening. Thinking that problem might cause this to happen again to the new windshield had to pay dealer to check if there was a electrical problem with controls. Said everything seemed fine and warranty was past and could not do anything to help financially when I called back to get reassurance that they would waranty replacement window if it happened again was told that he checked and this has been more comon then he thought, 4 this year already at their dealership.

I got in my truck to start it and it was completely dead. No fire whatsoever. Service traction control light was on and trailer park light or something was on. Radio, windows, doors, lights, everything worked. It just did not start at all. Had to have it towed. Dealership reset computer. Light still came on. Took it back a week later, because the service trac control light was coming on and staying on again. Can't find any thing wrong with it. This is a brand new truck. My lord. Something needs to be figured out with it. Why pay for a brand new truck that you are afraid to drive. Lucky this took place in my own yard, and not out of town or something.

Very cold morning, 3/4/2012, vehicle started by remote at 5:30am. Approximately 10 minutes after starting, I went out, opened both driver side doors, put my gear in the back seat, closed the rear door, got in the driver seat , closed the door, put seat belt on, foot on the brake, moved console shift lever to r, when a very loud bang occurred. It sounded like a shotgun. I looked around but did not see anything. Thought it may have been a window, but could not tell with salt spray on windows and darkness. I drove roughly 12 miles, picked up a CO-worker who got in and asked immediately what happened to your rear window? I called my local dealer a short time later and was told to bring it in to be looked at. I could not do that until Saturday 3/8/14. When the dealer checked it out, they said they would contact Ford and that it would take 8-10 days for a determination. They seemed to be unaware of a larger problem than just my window. After researching on the web, I found that this problem is not uncommon in this model and year. On Monday 3/10/14 after work, I got in my truck, only to have most of the glass fall out when I closed my door. It would have been nice if the dealer had taped the glass , I thought it was laminated. Because I now had a big hole in window, I stopped at a glass company, to see how soon they could replace it, with rain and snow predicted for midweek. When they called to check availability, they were told that there were none available, that there was a problem w/ the driver's side blowing out. I believe that Ford has known this for quite some time, as evidenced by web blogs documenting the problem and Ford's delay or denial in taking care of the problems. Some complaints have stated that children were in the rear seat at the time of the implosion. I would think that anyone exposed to the noise that it makes could be subject to hearing loss. Recall ?.

It was a cold morning in michgan and I turned on the rear defroster and started to work about 4 blocks from my house I heard what sounded like a gun shot. I could not see anything wrong at the time as it was dark. I proceeded to work as normal and when I came out to go home I noticed that the right rear glass in the rear window was shattered. There was shatter glass in the passenger seat thank goodness my son was'nt setting there like normal. I contacted the dealer and he said it was not covered under warranty and it would be 1200. 00 to fix. I have taped it up with a piece of plexiglass and am arguing with Ford. I researched on-line and found numerous complaints and decided to report to you.

Radio with sync, drops audio on left channel. Ford dealer could not duplicate but changed left front speaker. Started doing it again and this time I replaced all four speakers with higher grade triaxles. Still intermittently drops left channel. This happens on radio, sirius and sync, both services and phone.

Drivers side rear view mirror vibrates excessively when radio is loud or when driving at highway speeds. Makes headlights appear blurry or flashing like emergency vehicle at night. Dealer said Ford would not pay for new mirror assembly. Have had them look into it twice. Upgrading the complaint to the next level with Ford.

2008 F-150 radio and interior lights randomly come on while the the key is off, out of the ignition, parked in the garage, with the doors closed, the windows can be open or closed. Began randomly about 2 months ago (12-1-2010 @ 60k miles). No re-occurring pattern to the incidences. If the radio on/off switch is off the radio does not come on, but the interior light will come on. Local dealer replaced some sort of "radio module-$600. 00" but did not resolve the issue. Help; concerned about battery life and other potential electronic failures.

2005 Ford f150 6-disk cd/mp3 player no longer accepts cd's. I get error message reporting bad disc and its ejected.

All 4 windows have stopped working on my 2004 Ford F-150 truck also my rear slider is now failing and I have another window out and 2 more failing ! gezzzzz seriously expensive and frustrating ! I also have a problem with my 6 cd changer that came stock on my truck I have never been able to use it !.

When trying to lower the radio using the volume knob, the volume actually went higher until it couldn't get any louder. I was attempting to answer my cell phone, and couldn't hear the person due to the volume of the radio. It simply wouldn't lower. I feel this is a safety concern worth fixing.

Vehicle has a gap on driver's side door over the top. The gap causes noise inside the cabin of the vehicle while driving. It makes it hard to keep the vehicle on the road. Manufacturer was contacted with no results. The dealer installed a rubber sealer around the gap but this seemed to cause more noise. The radio, cd player and tv in the rear of the van stopped working. The rotors warped and caused vibrations when braking. Water had gotten into the left side park lamp. The seat belt warning chime and light failed intermittently, the dealer replaced the module.

2000 Ford f150 developed a problem with the radio equipment.

Display panel on the am/fm cd player failed. Apparently this is a common issue with all Ford factory radios. Called my Ford dealership to see if it would be possible to purchase a display circuit board, unfortunately it could not. Repair was min 250. 00 and a total replacement 500. 00.
