1 Electrical Jack problem of the 2019 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/28/2019

Factory installed tow hitch receiver tube is not level. The 2" square tube was not welded exactly perpendicular to the tow receiver structure. The 2" receiver tube is tilted down 1/4" causing the coupling to be "jackknifed" down. The top of the tow ball is not level which will contribute to uneven pressure / stress on the shank of the ball when towing a trailer. Using a 8" torpedo level will show the defect. Seven out of twenty-one 2019 new F-150 trucks I looked at the local dealership had the same defect. Uneven stress / pressure on the ball shank may cause the shank and ball to fail when towing the maximum 9000 pounds.

4 Electrical Jack problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 12/06/2017

Topic: sirius satellite radio uses a unsafe prompt which forces drivers to take their eyes off the road and hands off the wheel, while driving, in order to remove it from the screen. This prompt is their attempt at forcing consumers to call and subscribe to their service. In my Ford F-150, I am able to use a button on my steering wheel to toggle through the audio sources (such as am, fm, cd, or phone. Sirius satellite radio is also one of those options), safely. The sirius satellite radio was a feature that was already installed in the truck when it was purchased from the dealership. I have never subscribed to their service nor do I wish to. Unfortunately, every time I toggle through and get to the sirius source, a prompt shows up on the screen (see photo) and I am forced to take my eyes off the road and my hands off the wheel in order to hit close so that I can move on to the audio source that I am looking for. Sirus told me that there is nothing they can do to disable the prompt, and that the only way to disable it permanently was to pay them for service or pay a dealership to go in and remove the satellite chip. This situation is unsafe and unfair to the consumer. I should not be forced to use my own time and money in order have this safety violation fixed. This seems like a blatant contradiction of our hands-free traffic laws, which are meant to encouraging drivers to keep their eyes on the road. Sirius has essentially hijacked this safety feature in my truck and I would like to pursue a complaint. I am afraid this is an accident waiting to happen. They are aware of the problem and refused to do anything to help.

5 Electrical Jack problem of the 2008 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/12/2016

Wife is at the ncha eastern national finals in jackson, ms. This is a big horse even which brings in a lot of Ford f350, 450, and 550 to the show. People spend a lot of money on these vehicles over 60,000 dollars. This vehicle being as nice as it is, has a major design flaw. They are too easy to break into. Horse show is from March 7 - 19. As of March 13, 2016 in jackson, ms. There have been over 300 Ford f series pickup trucks broken into by way of the door handle on the drive side. The thiefs either take a screw drive and pry the plastic door handle off and have access to the inside the door and unlock. Or they drill right below the plastic and upward to hit the mechanical device that unlocks the door and they are in. Less than a minute for them to gain access. They can do the same thing to the rear door by prying the plastic off and access the inside. Ford needs to redesign this and get rid of the cheap plastic door handles. Need to issue a recall for all Ford f series pickups and install jimmie jammers so thieves cannot access the device to unlock the door. With the jimmie jammer, you can not use a flathead screw driver in the keylock and turn it to force it to unlock. In fact, Ford just needs to get rid of the keylock all together. You have two ways of unlocking the doors. Keypad or keyfob. Why do you need to door lock.
