Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While the vehicle was parked in the carport, the contact noticed that the rear passenger side tire was flat. The contact called roadside assistance to the house and they determined that the lug nuts were severely rusted and four of them had to be broken in order to have the spare tire installed. The vehicle was driven to vicksburg Ford Lincoln (2431 n frontage rd, vicksburg, ms 39180), but the refused to repair the vehicle because the lug nuts were severely rusted. The vehicle had to driven back to the contact's residence and repaired by an independent mechanic. In addition, the contact heard a noise coming from the rear wheels while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that all four wheels and the rotors, brake pads, and ball joints needed to be replaced due to rust and corrosion. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.

Another incident of a "death wobble" in the front end. Going down the hwy there is a significant wobble. Front end of truck shakes dangerously. Slowing to 20 mph resolves wobble but hitting a bump in the rd initiates this wobble again. This wobble has actually caused my truck to pull into another lane. I have had the alignment checked as well as new tires and balancing. Ball joints and other parts replaced. This is a factory issue and Ford has failed to address with owners. Deaths are a certain outcome if not finally addressed. Latest episode was last night but has been going on for years.

The fuel tank straps on my 2001 Ford f150 are completely rusted. Other areas have also rusted out such as the radiator supports - radiator and shroud dropped out and are hitting against the engine fan. The pick-up bed of the truck is also rusting out. Updated 08/11/11
the consumer stated when he inspected the straps, he found one of them completely covered in rust, but still in tact. Also, there was unusual rusting all over the underside of the vehicle. The entire lower radiator support was rotted out and the underside of the pick-up bed and other supports have major rust. Updated 08/12/11
the consumer stated when the support gave out the radiator and radiator shroud fell onto the fan that is mounted to the engine. Also, the ball joints and steering were wearing prematurely due to lack of grease fittings. Updated 08/30/11.
