I have had to replace front rotors and all pads at 8000 miles, replaced all 4 rotors and pads at 22,000 miles. I am now at 30,000 miles and now have no power assist. This year and model is know to have issues with the vacuum assist pump, which Ford is not willing to replace. When backing down the driveway I lost braking and hit a sign on the other side of street opposite my driveway.

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The vehicle was taken to mike bass Ford (440-934-3673, located at 5050 detroit rd, sheffield, OH 44035) for brake repairs. The contact stated that the rotors and brake pads needed to be replaced, but were not properly repaired. The contact did not provide specifics about the failure he experienced. The dealer stated that nothing else could be done. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact back to the same dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. While the vehicle was parked in the carport, the contact noticed that the rear passenger side tire was flat. The contact called roadside assistance to the house and they determined that the lug nuts were severely rusted and four of them had to be broken in order to have the spare tire installed. The vehicle was driven to vicksburg Ford Lincoln (2431 n frontage rd, vicksburg, ms 39180), but the refused to repair the vehicle because the lug nuts were severely rusted. The vehicle had to driven back to the contact's residence and repaired by an independent mechanic. In addition, the contact heard a noise coming from the rear wheels while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that all four wheels and the rotors, brake pads, and ball joints needed to be replaced due to rust and corrosion. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 63,000.
2016 f150 truck, 24,000 miles. While applying the brakes, the truck will stop but the pedal continues until it hits the floor. The brake pads are good, brake fluid is full. I am taking the vehicle to a dealership on 7-18-18. Very unsettling to have a new truck and the brake pedal doesn't work correctly.
The vehicle has started taking longer to stop so I replaced the brake pads and rotors all around, this did nothing to resolve the issue. It feels like the system is telling itself to not brake using the abs even on dry roads or just not applying pressure to the brakes.

After about 35,000 miles I started noticing a vibration when I applied the brakes. Took to a Ford dealer who inspected the brake pads and rotors and was told everything was fine. Took to christian brothers one month later and was told the rotors were warped and needed to be resurfaced. 80% of my driving is interstate travel with very little stop and go. I also do not drive around with one foot on the brake all the time. Therefore my guess is that this was caused by a design problem of some sort. Rotor should obviously last much longer.

While under warranty the rotors became warped. I took the truck into the dealer and they ground the rotors which made them thinner and more vulnerable to warping which occurred immediately. Ford refused to replace the rotors. The pads were fine indicating that the problem was not an operator problem. I took the truck to an independent repair shop where they concluded that the rotors were not sufficient for the vehicle. They replaced the rotors with a more substantial rotor at a cost of $1400 and I have had no problem since.

2013 f150 v8 with 28000 miles has faulty front brakes. The outside pads appear to be working properly while the inside pads are not. The inside of the rotors are gouged and rusty while the outsides are in perfect shape. I see many other complaints about this same issue. The brakes have been grinding off and on since 15000 mile with normal use, and no off-road use.
In all braking scenarios, be it from 55mph+ to 0 or just a partial slow down the truck begins to shake and shimmy vigorously. It affects steering, stopping distance and is extremely unsafe. The issue is at its peak when coming to a complete stop at any red light or trying to brake and turn at the same time. Issue was diagnosed and seems to be a defect in Ford rotors as the brake pads are over 80% as stated by a Ford representative.
Complete brake failure. I had to replace rotors, pads and add brake fluid yesterday to my 2013 F-150 with the 3. 5 liter turbo boost. I have the receipts! I was told that the fluid was extremely low, pads were cracked and the rotors were wrapped. I spent over $700. 00 and I have less than 54, 000 miles on this truck. Worst brakes I have ever had, now the brakes are spongy and the tech. Has no clue why; brakes were bleed twice but still same issue.
Brakes requiring frequent service with brake pads breaking on passenger side and rotors needing turning. We have 50,000 miles on truck and brakes are scrubbing again. This will be the fourth time we have had to correct this problem.
"check brake system" lights keeps coming on for no reason when going 40mph or more. Only one time I have experience some brake loss in pedal pressure it took longer to brake. Especially on freeway. Brake fluid keeps going low more then more then normal. I've check brakes each one and have found noting. Brake pads are good and clean brakes and rotor and still same problem. Brakes keeps making noise when braking. It happens all the time I get on freeway. "check brake system" . It happened second day out the dealer.
I have had my vehicle for a little over two years and have had to have my front breaks and rotors replaced 4 times. The first time being within the first month of purchase of my vehicle. Ford did the first replacement for free, but I have paid for the rest. The rotors show unusual wear and warping every time. Even with new rotors and pads the breaks are squeeky and jerky. This has not caused me an accident yet, but I have had to replace the brakes every 20 to 25 thousand miles otherwise I feel like they would have failed.
After having the brake pads replaced at about 24,000 miles, I was backing up and lost power and almost ran into my neighbors yard. The mechanic is saying its the vacuum assist pump and possibly something else but this problem didn't happen before and only when I start the car and back up.
Brake pads are not lasting more than one year and is losing brake fluid.

The 2013 Ford F-150 will intermittently ride with the brakes engaged. When letting off the gas pedal it will quickly come to a stop (both on the highway and urban roads). Brake pads have been replaced twice (@ 55,000 miles) and I have noticed a considerable drop in the calculated miles per gallon since observing the issue. I took it to the dealer and they said that it was working properly. They did not hook it up to electronically to perform an advance diagnosis. They instructed me to bring it back when it acts up again. The problem is that it happens intermittently. The only way I could get the vehicle to "disengage the brakes" while driving is to come to complete stop, engage 4wd, drive a few hundred feet, then place the truck back into 2wd. This would normally reset the braking. Appears to happen in colder temperatures. Additionally, the brake pedal occasionally (every six months) will have a grinding pulsating vibration lasting several minutes. The brakes did not go out but it feels as if metal on metal is grinding which creates an unusual and alarming circumstance.
Pulsating brake pedal, shimmy in the steering wheel at 27,000 miles. Replaced all 4 rotors and new brake pads. 39,000 miles now, brake pads need to be replaced.
I was backing out of my driveway and felt the brake pedal get soft like I had no power booster. The truck was very difficult to stop. I had to pump the brake a few times before the pedal stiuffened up a bit. This has happened everyday since, but only in reverse and only if I go in reverse 1st. The pedal seems a little softer than normal going forward but not near as bad as in reverse. I replaced the front brakes on 7/25/2015 (rotors and pads- high end replacements) and that did not help the problem. I just replaced the rear brakes on 8/15/2015 (rotors and pads- again better than oem) and I can still tell there is something not right when I back up as a first action. The pedal still needs to be pumped a couple of times before it feels better.

Saw recent news article about f150 brakes. . I purchased my 2015 f150 last March 2015. With only 980 miles (yes 980) on it my brakes began to fade out. Ultimately they stopped working and the vehicle would not come to a stop as the brakes continually faded out. Brought it back to Ford who ran several tests and could not find out why this happened. They confirmed that there was a problem but did not know why. They told me same. The western u. S. Ford representative even called me to apologize. Ultimately they replaced my rotors and pads, not certain what else they may have replaced. I asked where all the parts were going that they replaced and was told by the rep that they would be sent back to their engineers and I would most likely never hear why the brakes failed. I do not have documentation. The vehicle was purchased and serviced at towne Ford in redwood city CA. I can prove this occurred by asking them for my work order which should be in their system if needed.
No brakes when the vehicle first starts up. Start vehicle, shift into gear, pedal does not engage unless it is stomped on and even then its difficult to stop vehicle. I have taken this to dealership where purchased. First time dealer replaced front brake pads with a modified pad and recalibrated the abs module. Second time they replaced brake vacuum pump and vacuum line. Third time dealer replaced vacuum line. All of these failed to solve problem, dealer contacted Ford tech line and Ford engineers told tthe dealer that it was a characteristic of the truck and could not be fixed we called Ford customer service and they opened a case. We recieved a callback from a Ford regional customer service manager and was told if this concerned us that we should just sell the vehicle and buy a new Ford since we have the z plan. There are no warning lights that alert you to this happening! I can not longer even drive the truck I bought because I do not have the strength it takes to stomp the pedal down when this happens. Im so concerned that this truck could hurt someone. Im a 58 year old women and Ford does not even care to resolve this serious safety issue.
Ford motor company brake issue: Ford motor company has had an ongoing issue with their rotors and brake pads on several popular vehicles for several years. The rotors prematurely wear and warp causing a reduction is braking power and an increase in braking distance, thus creating an unsafe, hazardous, and potentially deadly condition. The failure of the rotors, due in part to sub-par material and craftsmanship, causes excessive and premature wear/failure of the brake pads. Ford motor company is aware of this issue and has subsequently labeled the brake pads as a "wear item" not covered under warranty. With under 11,000 miles on my 2012 F-150, which I purchased brand new, I noticed a pulsation in the brake pedal and scheduled a service check with at the place of purchase. Autonation Ford in north canton, ohio advised that they "found front rotors corroded and pitted. Also found rear rotors in same condition. Rear pads were at 2mm. Turned front and rear rotors and replaced rear pads. " Ford refused to reimburse the replacement cost of the dangerously thin rear pads, claiming they are a "wear item", when in fact the pads were worn at an accelerated rate to that level because of the faulty rotors. Ford motor company has a faulty and dangerous product on their vehicles that needs to be recalled and replaced before it results in injury or death.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 55 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle started to make a jerking motion. The contact released the brake pedal and reapplied the brake several times, but the vehicle hesitated to stop. The failure recurred multiple times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The mechanic turned the rotors but the failure recurred. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer where the rotors were replaced. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken back to a dealer. The mechanic stated that the brake pads fractured. The rotors were turned and the brake pads were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 16,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. While driving 55 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to stop the vehicle. As a result, the contact crashed into another vehicle. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rear brake pads were saturated with brake fluid. The rear brake pads were replaced at approximately 18,000, 21,000, 35,000, 50,000, and 65,000 miles; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.
Deep grooves in front brake rotors afer only 2800 miles . Ford replaced left calip turned rotors ; didn't replace pads. After 5800 mi rotors again had deep grooves in rotors. Ford has had truck for 5 days; unable to get rotors is the excuse. I don't know what is happening. I hope they replace both rotors ,pad and the right calip. Rotor s may need to be the ventilated type.

After replacing the front brake rotors and brake pads during 8/07/10 - 8/10/10 to try and alleviate a problem with the brake pedal traveling past the accelerator when braking (normal braking), I had to return to the dealership with the same problem. It is a safety issue as I cannot allow anyone else to drive the truck who is not familiar with the problem. The dealership kept the vehicle from 8/11/10 through 8/25/10 with the service manager driving it every day to and from work to see if the problem could be replicated. The service manager said he noticed the same problem with the brake pedal going past the accelerator with normal braking; however, did not happen everytime. I agreed with that. After the service manager called the factory representative to discuss the problem, the factory representative said there is not a known problem and the braking system was within specifications. I was told by my dealership that Ford does not recognize the problem and they could not resolve the issue for me. It appears to be a design problem, as I drove several 2007 and 2008 F-150's that the dealership had on the lot. Each one of them had the problem I noted above. The 2009 F-150 does not have the braking problem I found out when I test drove one. The service manager at my dealership told me that the entire braking system was re-designed for the 2009 model year.
I own a 2006 Ford f150 truck with 44,000 miles on it. Over the past month or so it has developed a severe braking issue which when under moderate to heavy braking causes the vehicle to shudder severely and make it difficult to stop. It occurs evertime you apply the brakes. I have spoken to other f150 owners who have had the same issue on the same vehicle and the 2007 model also. The brake pads are in good condition, however the break rotors have a very unusual scratch patterns running from the center of the brake rotor surface to the outside of the surface. I have never seen this on a vehicle before. I do know that one fellow had to replace all 4 of his brake rotors on a 2007 model to correct the problem, not normal if you ask me. I have seen this same complaint on other consumer web sites for the same issue. My vehicle is still in this same condition, I am trying to get information on what is causing the failure before I spend $$$$ to fix it. Thanks for your concern!.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. While driving at approximately 30 mph, the wheels began to lock. The contact further inspected the vehicle and found that the lining on the brake pads were separating and causing the brake failure. The vehicle was not taken to an authorized dealer to be examined. The failure and current mileages were 52,000. Updated 10/26/10. The consumer stated the emergency brake pads separated from the calipers which caused the pads to bind up in the calipers causing the rear wheels to lock up. Updated 10/26/10.
