Car Stall Problems of Ford F-150 - part 2

On two separate occasions (different trips) while pulling a 21' camper on the interstate at 60-65 mph, my truck would immediately stall when attempting to start it after getting gas. I would have to rev the engine in order to keep it running and then a prominent "clunk" would sound when I put it in drive. It ran rough initially but seemed to operate okay once moving and would once again die out if the engine was turned off and re-started. Let it set for an hour while eating and it's okay.

The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also mention the backup camera intermittently failed to function and that the vehicle consuming oil. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Throttle body needs replaced after 120000 miles after car stalled into �limp mode� going highway speeds causing a dangerous situation. Truck diagnosed at baxter Ford south in omaha ne and anderson Ford in libcoln ne. This is a safety concern when the truck gave no warning signs and just hesitated and slowed down with little or no response to throttling. There are hundreds of cases of this with the Ford F-150 2011. There have been other Fords around that year that have had throttle body issues. I don't know why this is. It a recall?.

Approximately two months ago I purchased a used 2013 Ford F-150 from a local dealership in warren, michigan. Recently I received a notice in the mail detailing a recall regarding vehicles equipped with a 6r80 transmission � sudden downshift (safety recall 19s07). After receiving my powertrain control module software update approximately two weeks ago from szott Ford in holly, michigan, I expected my transmission to run smoothly. Six days ago, while pulling through a busy intersection, my vehicle would not leave first gear. Somehow, I avoided being hit from crossing traffic. Shortly after avoiding an accident, the vehicle then switched abruptly from first gear to fifth gear (going around 10 mph). After pulling into a parking lot I turned the car off. When I restarted the car, it started in fifth gear. The car would not go into manual and would not leave fifth gear. At no point during this time did an engine light come on. After switching the car into four-wheel drive everything seemed to be working smoothly again. I immediately took my car into the dealership once again. The dealership has informed me that everything is working properly and since no engine light came on there are no problems to diagnose or fix. Safety recall 19s07 did not fix this vehicles issues. Last night the same thing happened again. It would not leave 1st gear. I put the car in park and the car would sit in second gear then jump to 5th gear. Very dangerous pulling out in front of anything because the car basically stalls in oncoming traffic. Safety recall 19s07 did not work.

After towing a trailer for some miles (130 or so in this case) the vehicle stalls/dies after pulling up to a traffic light or stop sign. This repeated itself multiple times (7 in one town) and twice in another town before getting home. This happened with the auto stop feature enabled and disabled. System chimed at each occurence and indicated that driver should put truck in park and turn ignition key.

Widely reported- please read carefully! very similar to existing recall*, but not the same. Potentially deadly. Current recall does not address the sudden up-shifts mentioned here. 2013 Ford F-150 mfg defect: molded leadframe assy in 6r80 transmission symptoms: intermittent loss of speed signal causes sudden/unexpected slamming upshift from 1st gear to 5th when accelerating from a stop, causing a complete and unexpected loss of all acceleration. Indications: 5th gear suddenly indicated on display, dashes replace numbers on speed/mileage related displays (mpg, odometer). Speedometer may read 0, airbag symbol pops on, large orange wrench symbol may briefly appear. Pressing on accelerator does not cause downshift. Motor may stall. Remains in 5th gear without some other corrective action. Turning engine off and back on will reset the computer, and vehicle operates normally until next occurrence. Dangers: this could be fatal when pulling out into oncoming traffic, both from the side (pulling out in front of oncoming traffic from side street) or from rear (sudden, unexpected loss of speed/ no brake lights). Ford cannot fix this by re-programming the vehicle to ignore the faulty sensor any more than you can ignore an oncoming cement truck or train. Repair is approximately $800. If not recalled, owners may try to live with the risks or trade to an unknowing person, endangering lives of others. *this defective part is also the root cause of Ford recall #19s07, involving sudden violent down-shifts (not upshifts). Ford is avoiding the problem by re-programming the ecu to ignore the intermittent speed signals, allowing the transmission to fail more gracefully, defects to be repaired at owner's expense. This approach will not work for the up-shift problem. The defective part should be immediately replaced at Ford's expense to correct both problems.

Truck shuts off when pulling a camper and will not run after restart unless you rev the engine and quickly pull the shifter into drive and accelerate quickly. The instrument panel shows �auto startstop shift to p, them restart engine. � this has caused many near miss accidents. The vehicle will stall when you try to cross an intersection or pull away from a stop sign.

I've bought my 2016 f150 XLT fx4 SC 5. 0l used with about 69k miles on it and had it for nearly a year now. Since I purchased the truck it will develop a rough idle and will stall while at a stop light. This will happen when I make a multi stop trip, for example if I stop at the market on the way home from work, or sometimes even just returning home from work. So far this issue has only happened on city streets. Outside temps are no factors as this happens in cold wintery conditions or hot and humid weather. Every time the truck stalls, the cel does not come on or any other dash light except the battery light and I can restart the truck immediately with no issues. After the truck restarts there is no fault light on the dash and truck acts like nothing happened. I took the truck to an independent repair shop to have a diagnostic check and they could not find any stored codes or pending codes pertaining to this issue. The repair shop was also able to duplicate the issue but also noticed a strong smell from the catalytic converter. At the moment, it is unknown what's causing my truck to idle roughly and stall.

The vehicle was towed back to the contacts residence and was unable to be driven. We just took my 2016 f150 ecoboost to west texas over thanksgiving. Towed under 7500 lbs. Towed completely normal the whole time (15 hours) until the return trip home. About 2. 5 hours into my return trip (I was towing without my husband and with two young kids on a back highway with no cell service and absolutely no stops for 2 of those hours😯) I pulled over to see where my next gas station was and my truck died. It would restart but would die again. I finally figure I'm screwed, I'll try and just hit the gas and go. So I took off and blew through a stop sign and didn't stop until I reached a gas station, where it died when I stopped. . It was Saturday afternoon and all the repair shops were closed and there weren't any parts stores open. I finally unplugged the camper, thinking it was draining my battery and started it up and gassed it to get it going and didn't stop until I reached sonora and camped for the night, about 20 miles away. And then my truck was totally fine after that. I never hooked the camper back up and I had filled up the gas tank and put fuel injection cleaner into the tank and didn't have any more stalls. The only light that came on when it stalled was the battery light.

When vehicle is sitting still it has a rough idle. It will also stall at time when sitting at a traffic light. Vehicle is a 2016 f150 crewcab lariat fx4 with 5. 0 engine.

Vehicle stalls while driving and won't restart for hours. This has happened 3 times since may and twice since September 2018. Each time it has been taken to a Ford dealership and the Ford dealer says that they can find nothing wrong that can be recreated. I have stalled out on an 8 lane highway. This was an extremely dangerous occurrence. I recently had the entire truck serviced, from oil change to throttle body cleaning to spark plugs to transmission cleaned, axles cleaned. All of this was done mid August 2018 and still has not fixed the issue. I have 102,367 miles on my vehicle. When I looked to see if there were others with this issue, I found that there were many and that Ford is refusing to issue a recall to repair this extremely dangerous and hazardous malfunction. I am sitting on the roadway right at the moment, waiting for aaa to tow my truck to the dealership.

Transmission - molded leadframe malfunction on 5. 0 motor. The 2011-2012 recall for the molded leadframe malfunction also affects 2013 vehicles such as ours leading to the truck loosing power, stalling out, shifting on it's own from 5th to 1st and the other way leaving the truck a wreck waiting to happen at any time during driving. This risks the lives of the driver, passengers and everyone else on the road. When this happens you must bring the vehicle to a complete stop, shut it off, wait for computer to cycle, then restart. Ford should be expanding the recall to replace this deadly malfunctioning part at their cost. This has happened at least 10 times within 30 days of owning the vehicle which was bought from maxwell Ford in austin texas. The last time this happened it was in a parking lot after just starting the truck and backing out of a stall.

My 2013 Ford f150 is stalling at at any speed, and the wrench icon appears on the dashboard. Sometimes the engine icon also appears when this happens. It's off and on. The engine light does not stay on. I took it in for a checkup, and they said fuel system needs cleaning. Also, my transmission has started jumping at low speeds, and reduces the vehicle to and absolute crawl. . . . Less than 5mph. It's not a high speed problem. . . Just at lights ,complete stops and stop and go driving/traffic.

Driving and started to shake, has nasty rattle (death rattle) threw code p0355. Fixed the code by installing new wires $500. 00. Fixed for 2 weeks then started doing it again and code p0355 came up again. Has lack of power and shakes bad. Very much a hazard to drive.

My truck stalled while entering freeway lanes. I went from 60mph to 10mph and was nearly read ended. The truck finally stalled just as I made it to the shoulder. Two hours later, my truck stalled while doing 40mph on a surface street. I had to pull into a center turn lane to avoid blocking traffic. Fuel was at half a tank. Oil level was good.

Vehicle stalls whenever coming to a stop after towing for more than an hour. Requires the vehicle to be placed in park to restart, but will continue to stall out immediately. Dangerous at intersections and stop-and-go traffic. Also stalls (when towing) when attempting to restart after refuelling. Only way to get the vehicle to start without stalling it to keep the gas pedal pressed to keep the rpm above 1500; or wait 10-15 mins for engine to cool. No check engine/computer system error given at all. Only stalls when vehicle has been towing over a long distance. Occurred 20+ times a day over the course of traveling across the us and canada in July/August 2018. Took the vehicle into Ford service center in longmont, CO, but were unable to diagnose with no code. 2016 F-150 truck stalls or turns off when you are slowing down or coming to a stop on any road. It idles rough mostly when you slow down or stop but now the engine has turned off 4 times in the last 2 weeks. It started at 60,000 miles and about to hit 70,000 now.
