My truck is making a ticking and whistling noise once it is cranked and running. Ford issued a recall on f150’s for a manifold exhaust leak with the same noises I am hearing. The recall # is 19s32. My truck has the same problem and issue as described in the recall. My year and model truck needs to be covered under the recall.

Vehicle lost all power and stalled while driving. Vehicle also stalled at idle when waiting at an intersection, and another time while waiting at a stop sign. No longer starts. Appears to not be receiving fuel and is returning code p0627 "fuel pump a control circuit / open" and will crank but not start. Required towing back to my residence. Fordpass sent a "service engine soon warning" stating "the powertrain control system has detected an electrical fault with the fuel pump and its associated wiring". The symptoms match those in 25v455 but this VIN number is not listed in the affected group.

Front engine cover leaking. I have had this issue twice with the same truck two separate engines. I bought my truck used and it was leaking oil. I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed it as the front engine cover leaking. Then before the dealership could get it in to be repaired it started having problems with the timing components. All the problems were supposedly fixed but then about 5 months later the engine failed due to a camshaft failure and I was told this was due to lack of oil. The truck was not even due for an oil change after the dealership had done the repairs. I saved up and bought a brand new engine purchased April 25, 2025. I had the Ford dealership do the first oil change on the new engine and then it started leaking. I took it back and it was determined that it was leaking from the front engine cover, the same as the old engine which I pointed out to the dealership and they informed me that Ford is aware of the problem but there are not any recalls for this. The new engine is under warranty as it isn't even 6 months old and doesn't even have 5000 miles on it.

There is a know design defect in the cam phaser on the 3. 5l eb motors. Ford knows this exists. They have since redesigned the phasor system to correct this defect. This isn't wear, or use related. It is completely a byproduct of a defective design. The issue is that the repair costs over $7,000, none of which Ford will cover. It is a known design problem. It is not due to wear, or accident, it is simply an engineering problem. Ford should be required to at least partially compensate owners for this known problem. My motor has less than 50,000 miles on it, and I just spent $7400 getting it repaired. That's about half the cost of a crate motor. It is simply not right for Ford to sell a motor with defective compmonents, and expect the owners to pay for their design problems.

24e08 for catalytic converter. Ford has a customer service program for other vins. This is not included. This is a widespread failure based on forms I have read across various year. I have 95k miles and have owned for 4. 5 years. They also stated the pcm software needs to be updated related to the catalytic converter. This is about a 3k repair. 24e04 covers this exact issue, but my VIN was on included.
Engine exhibits severe rattle on cold start ups. Occasionally a loud rattle occurs at highway speeds at random times. After research, I discovered Ford was aware of the failure of the cam phasers that produce this issue.

My vehicle cam phasers went bad. Cost to repair is in the upwards of $5000. Called Ford was unwilling to help pay for repairs. There was a TSB put out a year or so ago that stated that Ford knows about the cam phaser issue and would help pay for repairs. My cam phasers went bad this week and if not fixed can cause complete engine failure. They have apparently redesigned them a couple of times. I just don't get it, if it's a known defect in the 3. 5 ecoboost engine s how come there is no recall on them. I'm not the only one complaining check the Ford forums online. I have to get it repaired or pay for a whole new engine. Plus I have an active recall on my braking system for about9 months know.
Reported a burning oil/chemical smell to the Ford service center early August and was told nothing was wrong. 2 days ago same smell appeared accompanied with large amount of smoke while driving. Immediately stopped and found flames behind drivers side front tire in engine. Put out the fire ourselves with fire extinguisher and was towed to nearest Ford service center. Ford states was a mechanical issue with the front differential causing an oil to leak, cause metal shavings, and ignite in flames.

Truck is brand new and keeps having engine failure. Truck is not driveable on multiple occasions. Multiple dealers have assessed and goes unrepaired. First dealer cleared light and did not repair despite loss of communication codes present.
Cam phaser failure causing the engine to knock and eventually lose power. Cost $4,900 out of my pocket to fix with 64,000 miles on the truck. Reading online forums, this is one of the most common issues with 2018-2022 3. 5 and 5. 0 f150s. The vehicle has a history prior to my ownership of this same issue. Check engine light is triggered when you hear the engine rattle and throws codes for camshaft position error. Ford dealer replaced every sensor and harness on the truck before decided the cam phasers were bad, adding another $4,900 to my $2,600 bill. This was during my ownership of the truck between 63,000 and 65,000. First two thousand miles of ownership. Vehicle would stall at low rpm’s after highway use, stalling the vehicle while rolling into an intersection.

2017 Ford f150 with 2. 7 ecoboost since oct 2024 thru present error code p2450 with check engine light same issue with 2016 models and there are no recalls fore the 2017. Why??? after vehicle sitting off fore shoot periot check light comes on with same error code looks like your fixd sensor showed engine code p2450 on your 2017 Ford F-150 definition: evaporative emission system switching valve performance about engine code p2450 indicates a malfunction with the evaporative emission system switching valve, specifically its performance or operation, which may lead to incorrect fuel vapor management within the evap system.
I have a safety recall notice 24s55 / NHTSA recall 24v635 on my F-150. Ford requires 2-3 days to diagnose the problem due to current workload. During this diagnostic period, Ford refuses to provide a rental or loaner, leaving me without transportation. I use the truck for work, so I do not have a way to take the truck in for the recall without coming out of pocket for a replacement vehicle. My understanding is that this is a gray area, as Ford has not issued instructions to stop driving, so are not legally required to provide a rental vehicle during the diagnostic period. The fact remains I would have to take a financial loss to bring my vehicle in for this recall due to the diagnostic time. A simple solution would be for Ford to provide a replacement vehicle during this time. I discussed this with the dealership and the corporate number, to no avail.
Timing chain and gears need to be replaced. Check engine light came on. This should not be happening to a newer vehicle with 100,000 miles on it. I looked up other complaints and multiple people have filed complaints about the timing chain going out on their vehicle.

Truck is stalling at low speeds or idle when in drive or reverse causing me to get stranded in turns or at stop lights. No check engine lights have come on and the dealership said to wait but it’s happening constantly. Occasionally the auto start stop will say it’s failed but the stalling occurs when it’s enabled and disabled.
Ford issued a service bulletin for a computer adjustment for a known cam phaser issue on the 3. 5 eco boost engine while under warranty. This didn’t fix the problem. Now the cam phasers need to be replaced at a cost of thousands of dollars and Ford refuses to do anything to assist even though this was initially reported and taken to the dealer while under warranty. The internet is full of people with this same issue. The vehicle is at the dealer for repairs and they have confirmed this is the problem. Without the repair the engine will fail.
Auto start stop. This has happened on several occasions where I will be traveling at highway speeds and my 2018 F-150 10 speed 10r80 transmisson with a 5. 0-liter motor has died while traveling. I have talked to Ford engineering reps, and they say they have never heard of this. I have done research into the subject and there have been hundreds of reports of the same issue. I have an appointment scheduled for Ford to look into the issue.
Both left and right exhaust manifolds have broken studs that have resulted in exhaust leaks from both manifolds. The broken studs can be seen via a visual inspection. Exhaust leaks can be heard at engine start and during higher load operations. This failure is allowing hot exhaust gas to leak into the engine compartment creating an engine fire risk as well as compromising engine performance. The local Ford dealer confirmed the broken studs and exhaust manifold leaks. The failure was noted during a 100,000 mile service but the symptoms began to be noted at about 60,000 to 70,000 miles.

I had driven the car about 15 residential miles to home depot and back. As I was driving into my driveway I smelled smoke and looked forward to see a puff of smoke coming out from the front, driver's side wheel well. I put the car in park and pulled the hook release control under the steering wheel. Suddenly flames were coming out the sides of the hood, about 12" high. I pulled the car quickly away from the house and trees. Put the car in park, as the flames were now engulfing the entire hood. I quickly got away from the car and called 911. The fire department is close to my house, yet by the time they arrived the car, including interior cabin, was fully engulfed in flames.
The display will show a wrench icon and check engine light. The transmission will suddenly downshift and lose power. The rpms will either rise or remain the same but unable to accelerate. The wheels will intermittently lock up. This occurs at high speeds on the highway and on back roads at slower speeds. Stopping the tuck, shutting it off and turning it back on will "reset" and it will run ok but the timing between incidents is intermittent. There is a recall for this issue however the dealership (greico Ford in raynham) refuses to make the repairs, instead telling me this is no longer covered by recall: transmission molded leadframe extended coverage [xxx] today was the latest event, however this has been ongoing since December 2024. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

- cam phasers failed. Ford installed faulty cam phasers in their 2017-2020 Ford f150 trucks that cost $5,700 to fix. It is a very well known issue. No, you can not inspect the issue due to the fact that you have to take apart the engine to get to them. - when cam phasers fully malfunction the engine is blown and will need to replace the engine. - yes, it was diagnosed by a dealership - no warning lamps. There is a rattling sound when starting the vehicle and after research there is a ton of videos with the exact same thing happening to others.
I was driving my 2016 Ford f150 in ventura California on August 29th 2025 when my throttle began to accelerate on its own after taking my foot off the gas pedal. My truck sped up out of control, I almost lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Luckily I was able to gain control and get it into neutral and then into park. My trucks rpms raced so high it sounded as if the engine was going to explode. I put it into park and the rpms lowered to a normal level. While this was all happening a wrench icon popped up on my dash. Once the wrench icon came on I noticed my dash wasn’t telling me what gear I was in or if I was in park, neutral or drive. I pulled into the closest parking lot. I put it in park and every time I gave the truck gas the throttle would continue to accelerate on its own and would rev extremely high on its own. I also noticed as I was sitting it the parking lot at idol there is now a thumping sound/ jolt when selecting what gear to go into. I don’t know if this was caused from having to slam the car into neutral and then into park so I wouldn’t crash when the throttle accelerated. I shut my truck off and it wouldn’t turn back on. All of my electronics work but it doesn’t even want to try to start or turn over. I had to tow my truck home and it is now sitting in front of my house unusable. I have videos I can provide.
The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate as intended while the accelerator pedal was depressed. In addition, the vehicle jerked abnormally and unintendedly upshifted. The “service transmission” warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed with an internal transmission failure and a fractured valve cover. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,700.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v198000 (engine and engine and cooling); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer and purvis Ford inc (11335 patriot hwy, fredericksburg, va 22408); were contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for the recall repair. However, upon taking the vehicle to the dealers, the contact was informed that the part do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and a case was filed. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. After the engine had reached normal operating temperatures, the rattling ceased, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the cam phasers. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to customer satisfaction program: 21n03. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 70,000.
The cam phase shifters and timing chain have failed with only 83k miles resulting in a $7,500 repair. This is unacceptable. I would completely understand if it had 250k miles but this is a baby as far as mileage. Looking at F-150 forums this appears to be a common problem and Ford has actually changed the design of the cam phase shifters so they know they are defective. Request you loook into this issue please.
* what component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? transmission/powertrain; currently available for inspection at time of submission * how was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? while stopped at stop sign/stop light, the vehicle would have long hesitation before advancing forward. I would initiate hazard lights to prevent driver behind me from crashing into the back of my vehicle. The vehicle would shift harshly and untimely as well as randomly downshift from 10th gear to 1st gear (x2 on 24aug2025). I would have to pull vehicle off the road and when attempting to resume driving the vehicle would not move. The rpm’s would rev, however the vehicle would not move. I would turn off the vehicle and then restart it and the vehicle would move forward, resuming with harsh shifting. Loss of power, delayed and harsh shifting pose a safety hazard while the vehicle is in operation. * has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? yes; by independent service center * has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? no * were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? first check engine light illuminated on August 16, 2025. (please note the check engine light disappears once the vehicle is turned off and then restarted). I took the vehicle to autozone on 25aug2025. The tech placed the code reader on the vehicle. 2 codes, p0734-00 and p07f7-00, ‘gear 4 incorrect ratio’ and ‘gear 10 incorrect ratio’ respectively were displayed. Vehicle taken to independent service center on 25aug2025 who also placed code reader on vehicle. I am not in possession of that information at time of writing. Monthly ‘my vehicle report’ has been clear with no issues whatsoever noted until report dated 25aug2025 (attached).
This model year truck has an oil consumption problem. I had the truck repaired under the Ford bulletin, but I’ll still need an oil consumption test after 1000 miles and continued frequent oil changes.
My cam phasers are failing for the third time. I purchased this vehicle used last year at 89,000 miles and now I have 101,000 miles on it. Before I got to 100,000 miles I started hearing a rattle on start up and didn’t know what it was. After researching it by the time, I figured it out I had over 100,000 miles and Ford says they will not do anything about it, although it is a known issue and they had a customer satisfaction program to address it. They should’ve had a recall because it is a severe product defect that if left unaddressed will ruin your engine. It appears from Ford’s records that my vehicle had its cam phasers replaced twice in 2021. And they did a redesign of the part, but they didn’t put the redesign part on my vehicle and it is now failing again. The repair cost at a minimum of $3500. If I don’t fix it, all the mechanics say it will affect my timing and eventually my engine will be destroyed. Yep Ford tries to say it is only a noise issue and they didn’t issue a recall. If you look on any Ford f150 form, this is a well-known well documented issue and probably should be a class action lawsuit at this point.
I own a 2018 Ford F-150 with the 3. 5l ecoboost. It started having idling issues that eventually required the cam phasers to be replaced. While that was frustrating and costly enough, the bigger issue came with the 10r80 transmission. Despite performing all services on schedule and maintaining the truck properly, the transmission failed. After doing research, I found that this isn’t an isolated incident. On Ford forums and owner groups, it’s clear that the 10r80 transmission has been a widespread, ongoing issue for years. Thousands of Ford owners have been forced to spend thousands of dollars to repair or replace these transmissions—something that Ford should have addressed long ago with a proper fix or recall. It’s disappointing that a company with Ford’s reputation hasn’t taken accountability for a known defect that affects so many loyal customers. Something should be done to make this right for owners who trusted Ford to deliver a reliable truck.
Truck is rough idles and stalls when idling and moving at low speeds. It happens at stop lights or low speed turns leaving me stranded in intersections no check engine lights have shown up but a auto start stop message appears on the dash.
My truck has been randomly downshifting while driving. I see there is a recall for my year and make of truck for the same problem I am having, but my truck is not coming up for the recall. I am so afraid that if I am on the freeway if this downshifts, it put me in harms way. What can I do? I took it in for repair at a independent repair shop and it is still happening, they di not know about the module on recall.
My f150 constantly needs oil and seems to lag when the oil tank is low. 163000km on the engine. I've heard other 2019 f150 drivers have the same problem. It also has a hard shift after sitting for the night, it will drop gears while going uphill which seems to be from third gear to fourth but instead drops to 3rd again creating a clunk noise. It hasn't caused an accident or anything yet but from my last truck this thing definitely was not built the way it should have been. I think Ford needs to have a serious look at these trucks before someone gets hurt.
Well I went to put my truck in reverse and turn the wheel it shuddered and quit and restarted. This morning I was sitting wnd everything flashed and went off and then come back on. Popped ip service advancetrak.
The transmission failed in October 2023 on my way home from work. Brought it to a transmission place and had another one put in. Cost $6k - the truck is now at another mechanic as it broke down again while driving home from work - transmission and engine this time. Mechanic says needs new transmission and timing chain kit - cost $10k this is a truck that has 100k miles on it and only 6 years old. This will be the 3rd transmission. It is a safety risk as I have no control when the transmission gives out whether its on a highway or one of these country back roads.
My truck has 140,000 miles and I have maintained it to the specs provided by Ford my vehicle began to unexpectedly overheat when I was in 6th gear cruising at a low rpm. I had the coolant fluid tested for exhaust gasses. Exhaust gasses were detected and it was determined I had a blown head gasket. After taking to mechanics, other owners all over the internet, and Ford dealership employees at the dealership I purchased NY truck from. Everyone said the same thing. The 2. 7l ecoboost motor is prone to blowing a head gasket. My own father who has the same truck, just a younger older than mine decided to just replace the whole motor because he too blew a head gasket. This head gasket issue is pervasive and I would not be surprised if over 20% of this generation of motor has the same problem. I.
