2 Emission Control problem of the 2012 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 02/01/2016

I took delivery of this truck in March of 2012. The truck has had documented ongoing serious drivability, safety and reliability issues since October of 2013. The issue of immediate concern relates to ongoing misfire, back fire, and engine stall. This condition has occurred at low speed, highway speed, and while towing. The immediate loss of power and subsequent surging effects caused by this condition renders the truck hazardous to me, my family, and other motorists. This issue has been repeatedly reported to and serviced by Ford. I have also personally filed complaints and concern with Ford motor company. See Ford customer service case number 8603638. The misfire, back fire, and engine stall is the current ongoing issue but you will also see in the service history this vehicle has also experienced traction control, drive shaft, steering system, and sensor/electrical component failures dating back to may of 2012. It is my understanding Ford motor company is aware of this issue with the eco boost engine and drivetrain in my truck. This known issue was responded to by tech service bulletin 13-2-14. However, the mitigation measures of that bulletin and other subsequent service attempted to repair my truck have not been successful. Further, the service bulletin does not take into account the significant safety issue of a truck traveling public roads and experiencing sudden loss of engine power. Finally, I want to point out that the ignition/engine problems my vehicle experienced has caused premature failure to other components to my drive train. This includes fouled spark plugs, damaged coils, and likely accelerated end of life to other emission controls and mechanical components to the engine due to the misfire and water entering the combustion chamber.

3 Emission Control problem of the 2001 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 04/16/2006

While driving, the "service engine soon" light came on. I drove to the auto repair shop and it was determined it was the egr pressure sensor defect. I was told by the repair shop that he thought this might be a recall item on the Ford f150. I searched for recall notices on my truck and contacted the local Ford dealership. I was told that there was not a recall for the egr, but a technical service bulletin was issued and Ford sent out letters to have customers come in a have item replaced because of numerous complaints. My truck was ineligible because I now have over 72, 000 miles. Ford will not honor the TSB at no cost and the repairs will cost over $250. Why is their a mileage requirement for a mechanical defect that Ford has acknowledged?.

4 Emission Control problem of the 2001 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/22/2005

While driving my 2001 f150 truck, the check engine light came on. I took my truck to the garage that does my auto work. They told me it was the egr pressure sensor. They replaced the sensor at a cost of $190. 00. Later I found out that Ford had issued a service bulletin to have the sensor replaced and they sent letters to the owners to bring their trucks in to have the sensor replaced. Since I am the second owner of the truck I did not receive the letter and since I had 119,852 miles on the truck Ford would not fix it. " Ford knew of the defect, why should I have to pay to have a defective sensor replaced".

5 Emission Control problem of the 2003 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/01/2004

I purchased my Ford f150 on December 29, 2002 from sunrise Ford in north hollywood, California. I returned it in March 2003 because there was an odd clunking, grinding and whining sound when it was driven. I was told that they could not find anything wrong with it. Then I took it back one more time in April of 2003 and they still could not find anything wrong. In may 2003, I moved to arizona and on may 9, 2003 I took it to berge Ford located mesa, arizona. They tested the vehicle and could not find anything wrong. Even though they previously mentioned that it could be the rear end that has the problem. I took it in again on September 17, 2003 to berge Ford and they found several items wrong with the truck. Although they fixed the items listed on the service ticket, the truck is not fixed. This vehicle obviously has a problem. I would not waste my time leaving work to deal with such issues if the issues did not exist. It took four times to locate a problem and it is still not fixed. I took the car to berge Ford on may 26, 2004 again. This time they replaced the air flow valve. I again took the vehicle in on June 1, 2004 and they couldn't find anything wrong again. I believe that this vehicle is truly a lemon and I am hoping that Ford can work with me on these issues. I was told I do not qualify for the lemon law because of my mileage, but the problems started before I was over the mileage limit. It is frustrating to deal with these issues for over a year. If there were not any problems then why would I have returned the truck 3 months after I bought it? I would love to trade it in, but I do not want to lose again by being upside down. I spoke with a gentleman at berge Ford and he said that there is a possibility that Ford might be able to buy the truck back and that is exactly what I need them to do at this point. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
