The contact owns a 2004 Ford f150 4x4. While driving 57 mph the vehicle lost all power and shut off. The vehicle slowly cruised over to the side of the road and came to a complete stop. The check engine light illuminated stating low oil pressure. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic who stated that a diagnostic test showing codes p091 for the fuel rail pressure sensor which was replaced along with the fuel pump. The fuel pump control module corroded and the housing was cracked with a hole in it that also shorted out and caused the failure to occur. The dealer nor the manufacturer were not notified. The failure mileage was 91,450.

1. I was driving down the road (snow and ice covered) and while making a left hand turn through an intersection my truck instantly died. When the truck died a lost power searing, brakes, and obviously acceleration. The entire intersection was blocked for 30-45 min. Due to an earlier snow storm, no tow trucks were available. 2. The failure happened once. When the failure happens, the driver looses engine, brake, and steering power. The cause of the problem is a faulty fuel pump control module. The part fails because it is mounted underneath the bed of the truck but was not made resistant to road salt corrosion. 3. Ford knows about this issue (and has a replacement corrosion resistant part) but the kit for this is in such high demand that it is back ordered until the middle of may. The dealer is telling me my truck is "fixed" but no one is able to prove I have the corrosion resistant part. There is documented communication between Ford and the dealer about knowingly installing the old, defective part.

The contact owns a 2004 Ford f150. The contact was driving at approximately 65 mph when the vehicle stalled suddenly and completely shut down. The vehicle was towed to a dealership where the contact was informed that the fuel pump marginal had rusted and separated from the vehicle. The dealer repaired the vehicle at the expense of the contact. He called the manufacturer and was told that he would have to assume the repair costs. The failure mileage was 48,842. The current mileage was approximately 50,000. Updated 05/06/10. The fuel pump module was severely corroded. Updated 07/27/jb.
Ford F-150 2006 with 5. 4 l leaks fuel out of the top of the fuel tank when filling, the fuel stations pump does not shut off when the tank is full causing gasoline to be spilled on the ground. This started and then the fuel gauge stopped working so I have no idea how much fuel to pump before this happens at every fill-up. The dealer has replaced the fuel filler tube and has ordered a new fuel gauge but for two weeks has been unable to solve the problem. This is not only a safety issue but also an environmental issue. I was informed by an online Ford expert mechanic, that there were other instances of fuel leaks on this model (gaskets at the fuel pump assembly).

I own a 2002 Ford F-150 supercrew 4x4 pickup with 5. 4l v8 gas engine and aod automatic transmission. At 48,500 miles on the vehicle the od on/off switch would not stay engaged and was flashing intermittently I took the truck to a local transmission shop who showed me metal shavings in the transmission pan and was told the torque converter must be replaced and the transmission must be rebuilt. I agreed to the work because I need a dependable vehicle. I have never abused the truck in any way and do not haul any type of trailers with the vehicle.

When filling front fuel tank the tank won't accept any fuel. When selector switch is put on the front fuel tank, fuel gushes out of the front fuel pipe if the cap is off.
I took my 2001 f150 truck in for service and I was told the fuel pump needed to be replaced the next call I got was to tell me my truck had caught on fire during the test drive and burnt to the ground neither ac collins Ford or Ford motor company will claim responsibility for this they both say it was not their fault but Ford never sent an inspector.

The vehicle had dual gas tanks. The front tank was leaking fuel out of the cap since the fuel from the back tank was traveling to the front. The dealer replaced the fuel pump.
