3 Tank Assembly problem of the 1990 Ford F-150

The truck has 9000 actual miles on it now, but I fail to understand (1) why the windshield leaks and the vehicle has always been stored under a carport? (2) fuel gauge on front tank always shows empty when its full? (3) driver side exhaust manifold is cracked? is there any recalls for this vehicle related to the above issues?.

4 Tank Assembly problem of the 1994 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 01/21/2014

On Monday I noticed a strong gasoline smell coming from the rear tank (dual tank system) of my truck. Tuesday after switching gas use from the front to rear when I stopped at a local store, gas was dribbling at a high rate of speed out of the gas cap area from my rear tank. By the time I got home pressure caused the gas to practically explode out of the gas cap by the gallons. The fire department had to be called to ensure that moving the truck did not start a fire and to clean the spill. After researching the issue, it appears that there was a recall through Ford for earlier dual tank models for the same issue (NHTSA campaign id number :93v125000). Many other 1994 F-150 owners are having this same issue but a recall has not yet been issued (example: NHTSA complaint # 10533605). I assure you that this was indeed a huge fire hazard! according to your files, in 1993, Ford is well aware of this issue through recall 93v-125. Why haven't other owners with dual tanks been notified? in addition, why hasn't there been another recall for later Ford models?.

6 Tank Assembly problem of the 2000 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 03/01/2012

Good day, my 2000 Ford f150 pickup truck is involved in the gas tank straps recall. Because the straps broke it caused excessive vibration from the tank that also damaged the tank; now Ford has fixed the straps but now they want $1600 to fix the tank which broke because of the damage straps originally. I have never had a vehicle with such a severe rust problem. I think this vehicle should have a fuel tank recall also. The fuel line all got rusted and broke on me; I had to change out all the lines. Now the gas tank and straps are all rusted out. Thanks,.

9 Tank Assembly problem of the 2001 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/17/2011

A plastic cover over the rear part (towards the axle) of the gas tank has caused a rust hole in the tank. The piece is held on with 2 strips of double sided adhesive and attaches to two clips on the tank. The rust damage is under the adhesive strip on the bottom causing a very slow leak. I'm not sure what the function is for this plastic piece and I can't imagine that my vehicle is the only one affected by this design flaw?.

Advised that fuel level indicator can't be relied on below this level (quarter tank) also advised by Ford that the safest level to maintain fuel level at was half tank. This failure does have the potential to and frequently does cause loss of control of vehicle. Ford also advises that this is an issue with all 2011 f150's and should be treated as normal. 30 Tank Assembly problem of the 2001 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/01/2011

I have a 2001 Ford f150 regular cab long bed with 75,000 miles. While driving at approximately 40 mph the right inner tie rod broke causing the vehicle to shudder significantly until I was able to stop the vehicle. This brief shuddering caused the rear fuel tank strap to snap in half primarly due to excessive corrosion of the strap. Loss of the supporting strap caused the rear of the tank to drop almost to ground level which also broke the filler inlet off of the top of the tank, completely disconnecting the filler tube and presenting a large hole for fuel to escape. Both of these failures are not what I would expect from a vehicle with only 75,000 miles on the odometer. Either could have resulted in serious injury or property damage.
