I made a left-hand turn during a snow storm, and the right rear wheel slid and I made contact with the curb at a relatively low speed. The rear right wheel assembly failed and snapped, leaving the wheel assembly 90 degrees to normal. In other words, the wheel went from vertical to horizontal. Upon visual inspection, the axle snapped, and the axle's interior steel looked defective. The axle appeared very coarse, porous, and poorly consolidated. I requested to keep all the parts which are now located in storage. Both the insurance company and the Ford motor company dealership seemed to think the axle was defective. Nobody was injured or hurt.

Ford issued a recall for Ford lightnings produced from November 2023 to February 2024, for the front ball joint nut falling off. Causing a loss of control, suspension and all steering input, later crashing. New truck with 700 miles. Fords guesstimate of 12000 trucks, going by the month math is more likely than not well over 24000 affected vehicles. My truck was manufactured June 2024. My husband moved/unscrewed the aforementioned nut, off the left upper ball joint with the fingers on his hand. The nut was loose. The upper ball joint appeared hand tight. Ford nearly killed us. I advised william at NHTSA and he hung the phone up on me. William needs to be terminated. William is apparently biased against gay men and/or retired law enforcement officers.

The contact noticed an unusual sound. The contact, who was an independent mechanic and an associate independent mechanic, diagnosed fractured frame and bracket. The contact stated that the frame had a 6-inch hole. The contact stated that the frame and the bracket needed to be recleaned and rewelded. The vehicle was repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the metal was defected, which had a stress crack. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 91,000.

I purchased a new 2024 Ford F-150 on August 31, 2024, and just six weeks later, on October 19, 2024, the entire left front suspension failed while I was driving at 50-55 mph. The truck suddenly and unexpectedly took a hard left and I nearly lost control of the vehicle. It was incredibly difficult to maintain control of the truck as it swerved dangerously, but I managed to guide it to the shoulder and called for a tow to the dealership where I bought it. I discovered the left front tire and rim had detached and the entire front suspension pulled out of the truck. The left front tire was positioned sideways under the truck. My concern is there's potential issues stemming from what appears to be a failure to properly torque the top control arm at the factory that are being covered up. I was told that Ford recalled some rangers and broncos after it was discovered the nut on the left upper control arm was either missing or not properly torqued in the plant. To my knowledge there has not been a recall on the f150 models. If the incident had occurred on the interstate or while meeting an oncoming vehicle, I have no doubt there would have been serious injuries or fatalities involved. The were no warning signs or symptoms prior to the incident occurring. The truck remained at the dealership in repair until November 20th.
The structural integrity of the hood and front bumper failed due to unsafe modifications performed by rocky ridge and endorsed by Ford motor company. The hood's structural reinforcements and crush zones were cut to fit a hood scoop, and sections of the front bumper were removed, compromising crashworthiness. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request and I have documented with images. The modifications to the hood and front bumper compromised the vehicle’s crashworthiness, potentially increasing the risk of severe injury or death in a collision. The removal of structural reinforcements and crush zones on both components prevents them from functioning as designed to absorb and distribute impact forces during a crash, endangering all occupants of the vehicle. The problem has been confirmed by an independent collision repair center, a Ford certified collision center and my insurance company usaa. Both parties have stated that the modifications to the hood and bumper are unsafe, and the insurance company has refused to authorize repairs that replicate the original modifications due to safety concerns. The vehicle has been inspected by my insurance company and a collision repair center. Both confirmed the safety concerns resulting from the modifications and highlighted that the affected components cannot be repaired or replaced without compromising safety. Images were provided to Ford motor company and inspected by Ford collision center manager. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other visible symptoms of the problem prior to the discovery of the modifications during a repair process. Ford positon statements and on target tech bulitens prohibit these types of modifications and were violated, then conceled so that the consumer would not be able to see them unless in an accident. Ford is citing that the time frame exceeds 24 months so there is nothing that they are willing to do about it. This is a failure to warn and product defect that impacts safety.

I was told there was something hanging underneath my truck and when I looked I found the sway bar had broken. It was not the end links but the sway bar itself. I have never been off roading or abused the truck.
The contact owns a 2024 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the vehicle was vibrating abnormally while driving approximately 70 - 80 mph. The contact stated that the failure had not occurred at slower speeds. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer 4 times; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The tires were replaced, the rims were replaced, and an alignment was performed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 490.
I have been having nothing but problems with this truck since I purchased it and I'm looking to see if anyone can help me out with this truck. I have had it now almost two years and the truck was in the shop for 3 months of it getting worked. I have had nothing but problems with the braking system as well. The dealer wouldn't sell me the original pads for it, they sent someone to car quest to get a set of pads. Whenever I gave them the VIN I would always end up with the wrong parts somehow. So I dont know if there is VIN fraud or what but something wasn't adding up. The dealer I purchased it from is not much of help. The water pump has gone out, the cam phasers were replaced(and are rattling again. ) the starter was replaced due to clunking when started. ( still clunks) oil pan gasket was replaced. The transmission had to be replaced. I am just trying to see what my options are with this truck. It's clearly a lemon and just wondering if there's anything anyone can do to help because the reliability of this 35,000 dollar truck is out the window.

The wheel wells on the front of my vehicle do not properly fit the well. One has been replaced twice the other once and recently the dealer made the decision to cut the wheel wells so they would no longer rub. I was told it was the best they could do. The other choice is to keep replacing them when they fail. I am concerned that somthing from the road may fly up in their and get lodged in the exposed under section. I feel there should be another alternative but Ford doesn't want to pay to get a resolution. If those well covers were not needed they wouldn't have them n their in the 1st place. So I know they are needed.
Hello, the suspension on this truck is coil (spring) over the shock. The spring just sheared sitting in my driveway under no load what-so-ever. This could have easily caused an accident and somebody could have been killed. I googled this and did find another incident of this exact thing happening to the same year/model truck. The vehicle is at the dealer service department now. There were no warning at all before this happened and this truck has been "babied" for its whole life. I do have photos. . . . But my phone will not send them right now for some reason. Thanks!.
The cam phasers on this truck make all the sounds and issues that others have experienced in the F-150. They need to be replaced ASAP. Vehicle is at 83000 miles.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while the independent mechanic was rotating the tires, he informed him that the lug nuts on all four tires were significantly swollen. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer did not inspect the lug nuts and informed the contact that they were unaware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Frame on passenger and drive side by transmission, fuel tank, and rear leaf springs are rusted and have no integrity left. No structure integrity if in an accident. If fractures completely, will loose control of vehicle as the bed will contact cab, driveshaft will jamb into transmission, lock up brakes from pinched brake lines, loss of brakes from severed brake lines, lose control and go into on coming traffic or into roadside structures including pedestrians. Note: your system will not let me upload pictures.
The frame on this truck broke. The frame tore in a manner that the lower control arm became disconnected from the vehicle. I recognize that l live in an area where rust issues are real, however l am also very experienced with metal working and fabrication and can reliably assure that corrosion is not the cause of this failure in the frame of this vehicle. I have attached 4 photos, those are of the front & back of passenger side (good) and driver's side (bad). Note the broken bolt head (toward the front) and the broken frame. This is the actual frame that broke and not a bolted on subframe and to me this is a serious issue. There are so many of these trucks on the roads l feel that l am obligated to make you aware of the problem. I thank you for your time.
Iwe issues in 2wd mode, experiencing random vibration from the front end, particularly when cold 32 degrees and below. Vibration wont stop until you pull over and stop vehicle. Sounds like hitting rumble strips. It is an intermittent problem. It has happened so far 3 times since ownership. Once in decemeber, February, and March with each time 2 miles away from my home and the temps being 32 degrees and below. There are numerous reports on this problem with the 2023 f150 on the F-150 forum page. Some users have tagged Ford as they posted their frustration over this annoying problem. You pay so much for these vehicles only to be left with additional problems and the company not doing anything for you to remedy the issue. These vehicles are are mortgages anymore.

Both front iwe’s are in question. When it’s cold out like below 32 degrees, I driving and hear a grinding noise. Sounds like a bearing type noise when they are stuck engage and one free spinning. The dealer told me if I hear noise again to engage/press 4high. The noise went away but not fixed.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed there was oil leaking from the rear passenger's side wheel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the rear axle bolt was faulty, and the rear axles needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the rear axles under warranty. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 34,361.
Frame & suspension problem. Left front wheel attaches to frame was rusted and the wheel tilted in so it was not drivable. Fortunately, I was not driving at highway speed. Otherwise, I easily could have lost control of my truck. Navarre Ford body shop, st. Louis, michigan looked at the damage & shipped it to grand rapids michigan, proam collision & mechanical for repairs to frame & suspension. They are calling it a fractured frame. The two parties above have inspected the vehicle. There was no police report filed. No warning lights etc. Noticed issue with left front wheel while driving in residential area.

Hello, a few weeks ago while I was heading down highway 49 in tuolumne county, the spindle that holds the front wheel on my truck broke, sending my front left wheel down the opposite direction and my truck crashing down into the asphalt to a sudden stop. Thankfully I was able to maintain control enough of the truck to keep it from running off the road and flipping over. So many things made this a very lucky occurrence for me, because I was heading down the highway to mariposa and many curves that had it happened there, would have sent me off the cliffs many hundreds of feet down. As I was being driven by the tow truck driver talking about my accident, we realized he had never seen this ever happen before. I was also told by the mechanic that something like this "just does not happen and should never happen". I could have had my entire family with me and we could have all perished because of a failure that "is not supposed to happen". I have also read there is a huge recall for this part on these trucks, although my truck does not fall under the recall and this is why I am asking for your help. I have saved all the broken parts, have photos of them all and of the truck broken on the side of the road. I feel this issue should be brought to the attention of Ford, but they will not talk to me about it, which is why I am reaching out to you. I also have a bit of ptsd, because I am scared to drive my truck because I am worried the new replaced part, could have a similar defect, so I will not allow passengers to ride with me until it is confirmed safe to drive. The problem was not reproduced by anyone. The vehicle was not inspected, although the chp was on scene, but I have not checked to see if a report was filed there was absolutely no advanced warning of any kind. The wheel just suddenly broke off. Is this something you can address and help me with?.

The driver's side rear axle bolt sheared off over the course of normal driving. Ford is aware of this problem, advises to not use/drive the vehicle, yet no recall has been issued. Without a recall, getting this issue fixed will take weeks/months and Ford should pay for a rental vehicle since this is clearly a manufacturing defect.
The front strut springs are breaking while driving and while the vehicle is parked. The spring material is defective because of the many fractured parts. This is on a vehicle with less than 65000 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2021 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the rear-end of the vehicle was making an abnormally loud sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was determined that the rear-end had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact the vehicle was not covered under a related recall or under an extended warranty. The vehicle was repaired by the independent mechanic. Additionally, the contact stated that while reversing, the rear-view camera image was black. The contact stated that while reversing and towing a trailer on one occasion, the failure recurred, causing the tailgate of the vehicle to hit the trailer, and the tailgate sustained damage. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v315000 (back over prevention), and the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the recall repair was performed; however, the failure recurred the following day. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.
Front coil spring snapped and slipped off collar. Causing the pickup to lean dangerously to one side and damaged spring is resting on shock absorber.
The rear axel bolt sheared off. I started to hear a rattle called Ford to see when I could get my truck in to get it looked at. Got an appointment set up 2 months down the road was the soonest they could get me in. While waiting for that time truck stated to vibrate. I decided to try a tire rotation and I had the rear axel bolt drop to the ground. Not sure exactly when I started hearing the rattle. They safety was the tire could have come off while driving which could have caused an accident which could have caused injuries or death of my family or others. I called Ford back they told me to have it towed in so they could look at it right away. So in 4 days my truck will be towed there for inspection. No warning lights about the bolt but I did have one about 4x4 would not engage back on 27/Mar/2023. Ford checked the axel and suspension.
The contact owns a 2021 Ford f150. The contact stated while having the tires rotating the mechanic notice that the rear passenger side axel assembly needed to be replaced and advised to take the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle was taken to the dealer that stated that the rear passenger side axel bolt had sheer off and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contact and advised to contact the NHTSA. The failure mileage was 40,000. VIN was not available.
I bought the truck and two months later as I was driving the vehicle the rear defrental went out and caused the wheels to improperly balance the speed of all tires as I turned and cause my truck to turn roughly and I almost got in a wreck. I brought it to Ford and they seen it needed to be replaced. Mind you its only been a few months. About a year later it has issues again as im driving and I also noticed it was leaking def oil really bad. I brought it in and they said they fixed it. About 7 months later I had issues with it again and they had to repair again. Its very concerning and is a big issue and safety concern.
I had just returned to my work. Customer came in said my truck made a noise and right side dropped. After towing to dealer they said spring failed. If I had been driving o what an accident. Others have reported this online but I beleive a recall should be looked at. What if my other springs fail while driving? what if I didnt have extended warranty this is a serious concern ps I drive 2 miles to work my truck has 18700 miles on it.
