1989 Ford f250. Consumer writes in regards to safety recall concerning fuel reservoir the consumer stated Ford motor company refused to honor a safety recall. Ford informed the consumer, they could not find his vehicle identification number in their records and there was nothing they could do. The consumer stated earlier this year. While stopped and idling at a traffic light signal, gas flowed profusely from the front tank filler cap onto the side of the vehicle, and the ground beneath the bed that surrounded the rear wheels. He switched the tank selector from the front tank to the rear tank and returned home. He researched the problem and discovered it was not unique to his vehicle, in which Ford had issued a safety recall. Recall # 91v146000.
Recall 93 v 125 000/fuel tank assembly: portion of unused fuel from one tank had to be returned to the second tank, the second tank exceeded, causing fuel spillages. Spilling could result in a fire when exposed to a source of ignition. Dealer was notified, and informed consumer that this vehicle was not covered under recall due to VIN. Fuel pumps from rear tank to front tank, causing overfilling and spillage resulting in fire hazard.
When filling fuel tank fuel is being pumped from front to back tank, tank will overflow and spill fuel. Consumer only fills tanks halfway to prevent this from happening.
Fuel selector switch got stuck in did position, causing engine to quit right in the middle of traffic. Just like recall 91s39.

Fuel tank selector valve needed to be changed because while driving at about 35 mph vehicle stalled underneath a railroad track. Contacted dealer, and dealer could not do anything for him. The dealer replaced selector switch to correct the problem. Customer never received a recall notice but he is expreincing a seletctor switch problem. ( the recall was on Ford f150 1989 not on f250).
