My high pressure fuel pump has failed due to what Ford calls contaminated fuel. Since my truck has only 12,000 miles on it I assumed warranty would cover a mechanical failure. But Ford says that contaminates got into my system past the fuel filters hpfp how in the world am I to know about the quality of fuel I am buying at fuel stations across America? this fuel system is the bosch cp4 platform which has a terrible record of failure. Ford wants $8500 to fix my truck. It was $55,000 and with only 12,000 miles I have to spend $8500 more to fix. I know I am not the only person with this problem, please help.

1996 Ford f250 pickup with dual gas tanks had malfunctioning check valve in fuel pump assembly in one tank which caused unused fuel to be returned to second tank which caused constant overflow and fuel spillage. Fuel pump assembly was replaced which corrected the problem. This same problem occurred in 1989 to 1993 Ford f250 pickups and resulted in a recall to fix the problem.

Consumer had the brakes changed two different times, but problem still persists. Dealer has been notified. The vehicle dies while driving due to cam sensor failure. The gas gauge reads 1/2 full after driving 40 miles due to fuel sending unit failure.

Failure Date: 11/15/1998

At 20,000 miles ongoing problem with loss of power after 1/2 hours of running and stalling out when applying accelerator pedal from a stop position. Vehicle been in dealer shop on five occasions, and probelem still reoccurring. Dealer has replaced the fuel pump, air flow sensor, mass air flow sensor, and the O2 sensors, some of these have been replaced more than once and vehicle continues to lose power and stall. Door ajar light illuminated, dealer ordered left door jam switch. Fuel gauge reads full when it is not, dealer replaced fuel sender. Consumer states passenger front rim is warped. Shifter handle bezel keeps popping off, transmission would not go into all gears, when backing in reverse, ther is a squealing noise. Left door cylinder replaced. Abs light illuminated when going in reverse. Air conditioner does not get cold.
