1 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2015 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 01/17/2018

This truck has had it's def system malfunctioning from the beginning. It shuts off the engine at random intervals, usually low speed, and displays shift to park. So far it will always restart. It never displayed any codes or turned on the check engine light until recently. When 'check engine' light finally came on, I hoped it would solve the stalling when repaired. I connected a code reader and got code p20ba, which is the def tank heater. The local Ford dealers refused to honor the warranty on this, although it is the emissions system and warranted for 100,000 miles. I had it repaired elsewhere by an ase & aaa certified shop for $400 less than the dealer tried to charge. The mileage is only 60,000. It still stalls even after that problem was solved. It also only gets around 11 mpg when other trucks of the same make and model get around 18. Ford consumer services would not assist me in any way. They gave me a 'record number' or some other useless term like that but no assistance in intervening with the dealer. The def system has never worked properly- no warning of low level or warning of low level when the tank is over 3/4 full, it has been 40,000 miles since I saw the display 'cleaning exhaust filter' and other owners tell me they see it fairly frequently. Neither of the dealerships in my county will help me. It was at mullahey Ford and the only thing they 'found' wrong with it was the fuel reductant heater issue I told them about. I only recently found the article about stalling being investigated by your agency. I have a $48,000+ boat anchor at this point. The vehicle displays no codes yet will not stay running. I believe Ford owes me a fully repaired vehicle because this is all emissions related. I also believe they owe me reimbursement for the repairs I already paid for.

2 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2016 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 04/12/2016

09/05/2016 purchased 2016 Ford. 11/24/16 fuel filter pluged, replaced at landers Ford benton ar. 12/23,2016 check engine light (codes p008a, low fuel pressure/ and p0170 , something to do wioth the fuel) took to donley forsd galion ohio. They were not sure what to do but sugested changing the fuel filters. Truck was under waranty but charged me to do so mileage was 27,486. 1/12/16 check engine light again took to hacienda Ford edinburg, TX found codes p0170 (second time) and p229f some kind of sensor. They checked the fuel and found metal in the fule filter, lines and tank. I was told that the high pressure pump had failed and that is where the metal was comming from. They replaced fuel system kit, 8 injectors, high pressure pump, steel lines, return line, fuel filtersand flushed fule lines and fuel tank. Mileage was 29446. I lost a half tank of fuel appx 15 gals. And had to pay $19. 74 for fuel to restart the truck. I believe my lost fuel and the other should have been covewred under waranty. I forgot to mention the parts were under back order and I had to wait several days for them to get the parts. Repairs completed 1/21/16 mioleage 29,362. 04/12/16 check engine light again p0170 again mileage 45240 was told by donley Ford that they will moniter something called oasis for repair per ssm#45737. So Ford does not know what is causing this or how to fix the problem. I use my truck for work, transporting RV trailers so I need to rely on it. Needless to say I do not have much confidence in this vehicle.

3 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 1996 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 01/02/2016

Front fuel tank stopped working. Vehicle runs using rear fuel tank. If I take off the front tank fuel cap, gas pours out sometimes sprays ( about 8 ounces or so) . Front fuel tank seems to become pressurized. This can happen every time you drive it ( if you remove the front cap). In my opinion this is a definite safety hazard that needs to be addressed. I did some searches on the internet and this problem is quite common. Big fire hazard.

5 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2012 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 07/10/2015

Traveling down the highway at 55mph with cruise set and hit brake to turn corner. Engine immediately died with subsequent loss of power brakes and steering--scary because it happened at a critical time while turning a corner on a highway. Absolutely no warning--engine seemed fine prior. Truck would not start. Towed the dead truck to nearest Ford dealer in wellington, KS. High pressure fuel pump failure was the diagnosis. Evidently when this happens, metal filings from the shredded pump take out all the injectors, fuel rail, pressure regulator, and also sends metal filings into the fuel tank via the return line. Ford corporate, not the dealer mind you, claims this failure is a result of fuel contamination in spite of the fact that there are 2 fuel filters and a water separator in the system and they were well maintained. Repairs are estimated at $8000 + and Ford has refused warranty saying it is not their fault. The "fuel contamination" claim by Ford may not even be accurate as their "diagnosis" was made from a picture of the failed part. No fuel tests by Ford were conducted although I did retain a sample of the fuel. No specifics were given by Ford as to what type of contamination either--they just state "contamination". I have no idea if they are talking fluid or solids. Just whose fault is it when the fuel filtering system designed by Ford fails to filter out contaminants? they are denying warranties to thousands of consumers like me, plus they put me in danger with a known issue they fail to take responsibility for--and my government is letting them get by with it. To my knowledge they are continuing to build these 6. 7l diesel engines (it is now August of 2015 as I write this) with the same high pressure fuel pump failures staring the next consumer in the face and pocketbook. Shame on Ford--and shame on the rest of us for letting them get by with it. . .

6 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2002 Ford F-250

Failure Date: 10/27/2004

The power steering fluid was leaking from underneath the vehicle while parked. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who informed the consumer that the metal line that went to the power steering pump and to the braking assist motor erupted, and needed to be replaced. There was brake pulsation, the accelerator pedal was faulty, the steering was hard to turn during normal maneuvers, when the 4 x 4 was high off the road, the wheel turned and locked to the stopper, lunged, and the rear wheels spun around.
