Ford F-250 owners have reported 4 problems related to other fuel system tank filling/charging (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I was heading from cibolo, TX to kingsville, TX. (distance 181 miles) upon arriving at destination I shut down my truck. After approximately one hour, I started my truck and the check engine light came on. I connected my obd reader and it identified the fault code p21b0 (I did not clear any codes). From my research it relates to the reductant level sensor c circuit high. After researching more information I started looking through the information center under the vehicle setting and noticed the def level was below half (I never got a pop up or notification from the information cluster). In the past the information cluster would display the level notification without an engine light coming on. This time it did not. I purchased some def and filled the tank. It only took two gallons of def. The engine light remained on the rest of the day driving around after filling the def tank and the def below half notification also remained on. The next morning I started the truck and the engine light was off and the def below half notification was gone.

I'm just a little upset that Ford will not stand behind this issue with the 06 and 07 f250 fueling issue, I went to arvin,CA at lunch today to put gas in because I try to make sure when it gets to a half of a tank I fill it up, it took me 17 minutes to put in 13 gallons of gas, that is sad and I have to put it in so slow because it will not let me go any faster that to always over fills and gas come out around the fuel nozzle, I really consider this a safety issue. All I would like is them to meet me half way I can not afford to spend over a thousand dollars to fix this issue and when you do a search on the issue there are a lot of people having the same issue and they will not do anything to help unless you say something about it. As a veteran and working at a veterans cemetery I would hope there is help out there for this issue. Hello william, my name is caren, I am from Ford`s customer relationship center (crc). I have reviewed your email regarding the concerns on your 2007 Ford F-250 4x4 5. 4 engine. Vehicle identification number: 1ftsx21577ea67153 odometer reading: 47,386 are you the registered owner? yes clarification on how you want Ford motor company to assist you I would like Ford to stand behind there product, like I said I really like the truck and I don't have the money to change the charcoal canister and the other parts and to move it from above the spare tire to some where else if you do a search about the slow filling of the 07 f250 there are a lot of people out there with the same issue even the 06 f250 and Ford there is a technical service bulletin from Ford, TSB # 07-15-4 that relates to a slow fuel fill problem as you can see by this search there are a lot of people having the same issue, all I want is to be able to go to the gas station and fill my truck and not take my lunch break to do it in, I really just want Ford to help me fix these issue.

The 2005 Ford f250 pickup trucks has an issue while filling vehicle with fuel. The fuel shoots out of gas tank fill inlet during the fueling process. This problem will happen with the fuel gauge registering empty, half, or near full. I have had gas shoot all over me and other people time and time again. I have been instructed to not get gas in that truck at every gas station near my home. I have to drive across town to get gas. As soon as they notice fuel spilling out of my truck, I will be banned from their stations too. There are 8 gas stations within 5 blocks that have banned me. It costs me approx. $4 to go get fuel, even though there is a staion 1 block away. I contacted Ford customer service many times. They claim it isn't a recall issue. I researched the Ford executives company email addresses and sent emails to them. The email addresses were still valid and not returned. The emails made it to those executives but they never responded. I explained that the fuel spillage is causing a huge safety concern and may kill me or someone else. I explained that the problem may cause an explosion at a store. The Ford motor service professionals have told me that the filter in the tank has gone bad. I have made the costly repair 4 times since may of 2008. It works well for a few months and then the gas shoots out again. On one of those instances, the fuel spilled out, and I finished fueling and pulled to the front of the store to report the spillage. Someone drove up in that spot smoking a cigarette and caused a fire from the fuel spilled at the pump. I was banned from that store as well. I have to either pay for a costly gas tank fuel filter replacement, get banned from stores for honestly reporting the spillage, or fuel up and drive away from the store before someone notices that I spilled fuel. I don't like doing any of those things. Ford doesn't care.

Several years ago after filling the rear tank of my dual tank 1989 Ford f250, I stopped at a red light and soon noticed fuel pouring over the left rear tire. I figured it was due to a leak in the fuel filler neck and stopped using the rear tank for the next 5 or 6 years once burning out all the fuel. A few months ago I decided to get a few things fixed on the truck and asked the mechanic to see if he could isolate the leak in the rear tank. Surprisingly after doing a pressure and smoke check, he found no leak and recommended I put a few gallons in and see how the truck ran. The truck ran fine for a few weeks but, while running on the front tank, I had some hesitation problems and took the vehicle back to the shop. The mechanic cleaned the fuel injectors and changed the fuel pump in the rear tank (based on a low pressure reading) in order to try to isolate the problem possibly to one of the tanks. He also changed the fuel quantity sensor since is had failed years ago. I filled the rear tank (18 gallons total) and after driving a 30-mile round trip for some christmas shopping, noticed the rear fuel gauge only showed 3/8 of a tank. I figured I had received a bad fuel sensor and decided to fill the tank to make sure. The truck took a total of 7. 5 gallons of fuel. Since at no time did I note any fuel leakage, I figured the fuel has flowed to the front tank. Doing some research on the web I found NHTSA recall 91v146 (Ford #91s39) which described the problem to a tee. The recall includes 1989 f250 pickups but only those sold after February 28, 1989. I purchased mine in November 1989; however, I have a problem with the exact symptoms and safety issues. I recommend the NHTSA broaden its recall 91v146 to include 1989 F-250s purchased prior to the February 1989 start date to prevent a possible safety incident or worse. Thank you.
