Ford F-250 owners have reported 23 problems related to other fuel system tank assembly (under the other fuel system category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Driving on expressway in georgia vehicle shut down approximately 90 miles after getting gas. Towed vehicle to Ford dealer who said there was gas in the diesel fuel tank which resulted in blown engine. State farm was called, after about 2 weeks they took samples and claimed there was no evidence of gas. They claimed there were issues with the engine (6. 4 super duty Ford) in the past. We put 20,000 into the truck to have the engine replaced. Now we are wondering if this could happen again.

I have a 2015 Ford f250 diesel. The check engine light came on. I had it checked and found out this is a recurring problem for Ford. The code given was p20ba which is def tank reduntant heater failure. This has been a problem since 2011 for Ford. I have less than 27000 miles on my truck but since it happened outside the 36 month warranty, my local dealer will not cover it. I contacted Ford thru thier web site and was told it was up to the dealer whether it was covered or not. This should be covered under the environmental warranty. Thing is Ford should have corrected this years ago. I also found out the 2015 f450 and f550 have been recalled for this same issue. Then why aren't the 2015 f250 and f350.

Vehicle randomly dies while driving down road does not matter speed or what road you are on happens to the point we almost expect it now everytime we drive. It will act fine no warning then in middle of driving it just shuts off very dangerous. It also, will randomly loss power not all the time but occasionally if going over 45mph, the a/c works until you drive over 45mph then just stops until you get to a stop sign. Take off again its fine til that 45mph mark then blows hot. Had truck since sept. 2018 & have had the problem since at least 1 out of 4x driving this will all happen. Truck also has problems with fueling up the tank it shuts the pump off constantly. Main problem & most worrisome is the shutting off randomly while driving.

I was driving and my check engine light came on. I took it to the dealer and the code was p205c, which reductant tank temperature sensor circuit low. I was told by the Ford dealer that it needed to be replaced and that there was a recall for this part from trucks made from Aug 2009 to oct 23 2012 and my truck was made on Nov 5, 2012. My truck missed being a part of this recall by less than 2 weeks! I think that it is obvious that the recall should be expanded to include more VIN numbers corresponding to trucks manufactured later.

One of the vapor valves breaks on the gasoline tank, it is not replaceable so you have to buy a new tank. Ford has obsoleted the tank and it is not available from any place. You can smell the gas vapors when the truck is at rest. I am waiting for it to blow up.

The fuel tank sending unit is not guarded. Poor design, I have a fleet of Ford trucks. I have a 2010 f250 currently in the shop, Ford has a factory shield covering the exposed fuel lines. Ford is also not covering the repair under warranty. The dealership also stated this is not the first truck with this damage. Fuel was spraying on the exhaust for a while before it died.

While at an intersection waiting for traffice to clear so I could pull on to the highway, I smelled gas. I looked in my side mirrior and saw gasoline gushing out of my front fuel tank. It was obviously under pressure but the fuel door fortunately kept it from spraying across the road. I appear to have the same problem the other two complaint filers have had and referenced the same Ford recall campaign of 91v146000. If I am ever able to get through to the number for the Ford recall (313) 446-4654 I am supposed to reference recall number 91s39. I am the original owner of this truck and have only 22000 total miles on it so the failure cannot be due to mileage. This recall applied to quite a few models of Ford for 1989. The two prior complaints have apparently been ignored-------probably not enough 1989's around to really worry about unless somebody gets killed at which time I hope somebody remembers this website.
