The contact owns a 1999 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while attempting to merge into traffic with the brakes engaged, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 135,000. . . . Updated 05/22/13 the consumer stated the battery cable was removed and reinstalled in order to reset the computer. The failure has yet to recur. Updated 06/10/2013.

While driving throttle became stuck, causing vehicle's speed to increase. Problem occurred 5 times during the trip. It was later discovered that the throttle cable guide was worn.
From a stand still when pulling into traffic accelerator cable disengaged from the engine. Consumer pressed the gas pedal and engine was running, but there was no response. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, but dealer would not repair it because they could not duplicate the problem.
