2 Ignition Module problem of the 2000 Ford F-350

Failure Date: 05/22/2004

Driving at 73 mph on us 131 express way my truck all of a sudden lost all power to the fuel system. Causing my engine to shut down and causing me to loose power steering and power brakes. Causing me to take evasive measures to keep from getting rear ended and braking with both feet to get the truck safely stopped. In having my truck repaired at the Ford dealership they found that the computer module part number xc3z-12b599-aa shorted out causing the engine to shut down. When checking over the module myself. I found a metal vent cap coming off from the outside of the module in tipping the unit over water came dripping out of the module. This module is located behind the wheel well on the firewall of the truck. I feel that this is a deffective and hazardous design. That could/should be fixed so that other incidents do not happen.
