Ford F-350 owners have reported 19 problems related to steering wheel (under the steering category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving at highway speeds, bumps in the road surface cause a violent shimmy. Truck has stock suspension and oem tires. Tire pressure is per Ford specification (as indicated on the door pillar). Seems ntsb has investigated and determined the issue is due to suspension modications or low tire pressure. This is not the case with this truck. All stock and deadly. Ntsb needs to reopen their investigation before someone is injured or killed.

This is a company vehicle driven by several different employees. Many of these drivers have complained of a sudden violent shaking of the vehicle while at highway speeds, usually after hitting a bump in the road, expansion joint, etc. This shaking will only stop by lowering speed sometimes to as low as 10 mph. We have taken the vehicle to a local Ford dealership multiple times with no success in solving the problem. They even advised us to install airbags to the rear suspension to distribute weight to the front of the vehicle when loaded. We are currently on our fourth set of quality e-rated tires (recommended tire pressure is maintained) but are still experiencing the problem.

You can not turn the steering wheel while your foot is on the brake pedal. Like when you need to park pull in or out of your driveway go at a very slow speed and turn. If you had to turn the wheel and apply the brakes as if a kid run into the road you could not do that.

While braking steering system malfunctioned, causing loss of vehicle control. Please provide further information.
The collapsable upper steering column is very worn and sloppy and needs to be replaced. I feel this is an extreme safety hazard that could lead to possible loss of steering. There is no recall for this part and I will have to pay for it out of my own pocket. Since there is no new part no. For this part, I feel it will only go out again in another 60,000 mi. This part should be adressed and a new recall part should be assigned.
