1 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

It is my understanding that Ford willingly and knowingly sold cars with faulty transmissions. After multiple complaints and a class action , Ford extended the warranties under 14m01 (7years/100,000 miles) and 14m02(10 years/ 150,000) miles . My car , along with multiple other complaints that can be found online,is experiencing same shuddering issues at low speeds that are covered under the 14m01 extended warranty. However, my car is at 110,000 miles and per Ford and dealer are not covered. The issues are clearly related to a design flaw from Ford, and not as a result of a vehicle milage/age. I am requesting that Ford extend the warranty to same as 14m02 as it is clearly a design flaw from the factory. The shaft seal leaks fluid in the clutch, and Ford has admitted this flaw , and it doesn't matter of this happened under 100,000 miles or over 100,000 miles, the issue lies with the design.

2 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 02/02/2018

Clutch and front seal defective causing transmission fluid to leak out thereby causing transmission bearings to fail. Ford admits to defective front seals and will replace for free but refuses to cover transmission problem that was due to their defective seals.

3 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2015

I purchased the car used in early 2014. I had this car not even two years and the transmission is a serious problem. The car shakes, rattles, and stalls as I'm driving. The letter I received from Ford states that this is a normal function of the car. The transmission fluid on my car is leaking and contaminated. The transmission fluid would be almost empty in 24 hours. In order to use my car for a day, I would need to refill my car with transmission fluid so it will at least move. The car at times would come to a complete stop in the middle of traffic. The power-shift struggles to change gears and at times won't accelerate. This problem maybe now beginning to affect my engine. The Focus won't even start at times. Another issue is the radio will go on/off and with time, shut off completely. Their are also reports of car will roll back on hills when in drive and it does. The Ford Focus 2012 has too many design and manufacturer problems not to have a recall or lemon lawsuits. This car needs to simply be replaced with another model (not 2013 or 2014 models, same reports) or full reimbursement.

4 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

The car has serious problems with trying to shift correctly. The car hesitates and lurches when accelerating and downshifting. At higher speeds on the freeway the engine is incredibly loud as if it's stuck in the wrong gear. Now the dealer discovered a transmission fluid leak as a result of this transmission problem. I see on-line hundreds if not thousands of complaints on this vehicle for the same issue. This car is unsafe. I never know whether it will hesitate or shudder when taking off so I drive it as little as possible. Having the air conditioner running only amplifies the problem. My car was purchased new and in short order will pass the 3 year warranty. My dealer, fox Ford in grand rapids, michigan has a repair part estimate of several weeks to 6 months. The same message from two weeks ago. I invite any of your investigators to drive this car and determine how road worthy it is. Right now I'm stuck with a car that can't be traded in or sold.

5 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 01/06/2014

Brake light came on ,checked and fluid low in brake fluid container. This is just after I month oil and service done on the car. Filled it and tow days later come on again. Took to Ford dealer in my town and they said it was a leak around the break pumping area. They wonted me to drive the car till the park came in . I insisted the give me a safe vehicle to drive. . . At the time I have also experienced a small jerking after I brake and take off again. I thought this was a break thin where related . But they where not. Called them and told them about the jumping has been going on almost within a mouth of purchasing the car. On March 24 they worked on it and said they had to reprogram the gearing in the trans mission. Picked the car up and it is better with the jerking but it is still doing it 5 days later now . So now I feel this is something that needs to be taken back to them again and fixed right or I should be given a different transmission, mjs. I also hand a weather striping repaired on rear passenger window at the same time they worked on the transmission. And I November 2013 the cruse stopped working and had to be fixed . I have had this car 6 months and have had all this trouble.

6 Transmission Fluid Leaking problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2012

I in June 2012 I took the car in to complain that it was stalling, jerking and shuddering. It appeared that the problem was fixed until several months later when it began to stall, jerk and shudder again. I have since taken the car in in 2013 and 2014 complaining that the car continued to act the same way. I received a letter from Ford in may 2012 advising that we may experience rough or jerky automatic transmission shifts and that they had a "fix. " I again received a letter in August 2014 advising that they are aware that it may be possible for the powershift 6-speed automatic transmission to exhibit excessive transmission clutch shudder during light acceleration and it may be caused by fluid contamination of the clutch due to leaking transmission seals. The letter states that if the vehicle's clutch, transmisison input shaft seals, or transmission software calibration require service or replacement they will service the transmission as necessary free of charge. When I took the vehicle to my local Ford dealership I was advised that it may be a simple update to the computer software. This problem has been ongoing since a year after I bought the car and I feel very unsafe, as it tries to stall when parked at a light or when I'm driving at low speeds, such as when I am moving through a four way stop sign. I feel that one day I may have an accident because the car will not take off and the car behind me will rear end me; or, worse, it may accelerate too quickly causing me to hit the car in front of me or a barrier.
