The speakers are making a loud popping and cracking. This is now happening with the radio turned off, and no bluetooth connected to it. It even sometimes does it when the car is completely turned off. This sounds to me like an electrical issue for one. For two, this is an extreme safety issue, especially when I am driving. The last time it happened, it sounded like gunshots going off that that’s how loud it was, when my car was turned off completely, and now I am suffering from extreme tinnitus. Next time this could actually explode my eardrums. I have heard this to be an issue for multiple of these vehicles yet there has not been a recall on whatever may be causing this?! this is an extreme health/auditory/neurological safety issue.

Several times while driving, the radio will make a loud cracking sound from the speakers, other times it will *crack* and all radio/bluetooth controls stop working, and other times the radio will *crack* and stop working entirely, where there is no sound until the car is turned off, and turned on again.

The driver side door handle no longer works from the outside. It feels like the door handle isn't latching on to the mechanism inside the door to open it. I can open my door from the inside though. I have found online that it is a common problem and am confused to why no recalls have been issued out for the faulty door handle brackets.

I bought my 2018 Ford Focus hatchback on 06/23/2018 and on 09/03/20 I had to have my front and rear rotors and brake pads replaced. The rotor was cracked and they were really rusted. Making my car undrivable. This makes me sick that Ford uses such cheap parts that I myself as a poor michigander had to replace rotors and brake pads within 2 years of buying a brand new car.

Was driving and heard a very loud pop and crack noises. There was no audio and the car wouldn't let me turn the radio on nor off. While this was happening the pop and crack noises still continued. I did some research and it turns out these Ford radio are known to do this and I just want to report it as a safety issue due to the fact that when my radio is off the noises are still going on and they are very loud. This could cause other people accidents and is very irresponsible on Fords behalf.
Recently my car radio has been crackling and then completely stopping all music. The radio system will be completely off and make an extremely loud static noise and scare me while I am driving! this is not safe and could cause a massive accident or an older person to have a heart attack. I have a panic disorder and it gave me a panic attack while I was driving. I had to pull over and take my emergency panic medication. Volume is completely off when it is happening and the radio is completely powered off. Even when the car is completely shut off and we walk away from it the noise will continue and wake the neighbors up. We have completely pulled the fuse from our car.
Vehicle makes extremely loud static sounds, cracking, popping. Radio cannot be controlled. First time this happened, I almost crashed from the erratic and sudden noise. Radio does not work as of now, mileage is 80,000 approx. This needs to be fixed.

Several weeks ago, random, sudden thuds began to occur on what sounded like the roof of the car; sometimes a single thud, sometimes two or three. This was while the car was in motion; and not with the radio on. It happened daily, until this past weekend, throughout the evening on Friday 10/11 and whenever driving on Saturday 10/12 and Sunday 10/13 (without the radio or cd player on) loud, sudden and prolonged sizzling and crackling/popping sounds would break out in what sounded like the dashboard(?) and doors? my granddaughter was witness to all of this, and we both were frightened by it each time it happened (a total of 20+ times?). I considered not driving the car at all, but have no other means of transportation and live in a somewhat rural area. It obviously is electrical in nature, and is a progession from the thuds that were initially happening several weeks ago. What on earth can be going on this car? again, it has nothing to do with the sound system, because it all happens when the radio hasn't even been turned on. I'm afraid that a wiring breakage has occurred somewhere and a fire could potentionally break out in the cab!.

While driving, the vehicle began to accelerate on it's own. When brakes were applied the rpms sky rocketed. Turns out it was a broken cruise control module cable that would cause the throttle to get "stuck". At the same time it was also bogging out and shutting itself off while driving. The check engine light remained on throwing a p071? code which is associated with O2 levels. This turned out to be a broken "breather hose" which is connected to the air intake. Both parts have proven to be extremely difficult to track down. After replacing the "breather hose", ccm throttle cable, and also an O2 sensor the overall cost for parts was $300 and labor was $300. Thankfully no injuries.

Radio malfunction. After some time of driving, the radio will begin to crackle which leads almost unbearable popping within the speakers and has also caused the radio to stop working altogether but still makes the popping noise. Popping noise is so loud that it has frightened the driver several times. The driver has even made the decision to just remove the radio from the vehicle to prevent being frightened and jerking the steering wheel. This happens nearly all of the time, whether the vehicle is in motion or stationary, whether turned off or running.
I have a 2016 Ford Focus and had nothing but problems with it since day one I've had the car at dealership several times for the wipers first they said can't find anything wrong next they said they adjusted the wipers then they said they changed the motor . It still stops in my view whenever it rains I told them it's still happening and I was told to change the wipers. I'm no I should not have to with a new car. One morning I get into the car and had frost on the inside of my windshield I turned the defrost on and watch my windshield crack brought to Ford and they said something hit it like a rock I explained what happened but wouldn't acknowledge that there was a defect I told them that if the windshield had a solid seal I would not get frost on the inside they brushed me off. And now my car doesn't start right away and I called customer service and all they said was nothing they can do about it. I'm so frustrated with this car since day one no one at Ford will help me. There are other problems like the interior lights keep going out . I'm so tired of wasting my time bringing the car to the dealership being made to feel like an idiot. Ford says they pride themselves on customer service but I yet to see it as every time they treat me like I'm making things up. I want my car in safe driving condition. Is that to much to ask for!!!!it shouldn't be but that's how for makes me feel. . ,I showed videos of windshield wipers also but I'm crazy.
Radio totally died, then time to time speakers gives out loud popping and cracking sounds out of no where even when radio is off. While driving, this startles me and could distract me from the roads and cause serious accidents.
For awhile my speakers would make a weird pop noise almost as if someone was disconnecting an aux cord and then the entire radio would stop working. The only way to make it work again would be to turn the car all the way off and then back on again. As time went on it got worse. It used to randomly make a really loud static like crackling noise no matter what the volume was at and id have to turn the radio off to fix it. Even turning the car off wouldn't work anymore. Now the screen is blank and the radio doesn't work at all. I can't turn the radio off or on and I can't recieve calls through sync anymore. This all happened regardless if my car was in motion or idling.
The radio/speakers will suddenly make a loud popping sound/crackling sound out of nowhere. The popping/crackling is often loud enough to where it startles the driver, which is a huge safety issue. This happens randomly so the driver cannot be prepared for the loud, startling noise. TSB issued for st model but not se. Please help. There are hundreds if not thousands having this problem! please consider a recall. It is costing owners thousands of dollars to "diagnose" and sometimes get a fix. Thank you.
Stereor issues - loud popping, crackling, white noise, high frequency that hurts you ears. The volume control does not help. This occurs randomly and it's so loud it is dangerous. The speakers can even make noise when the vehicle is off. There are numerous problems people have been reporting about this issue as well. Occurs when vehicle is in motion, stationary and even turned off. . Read more...
I was driving home and the door unlatched on it's own and became cracked open in the middle of rush hour. I had to stop and hurry up and get out to open and close the door again. My daughter was sitting in her car seat on that side. Please fix this problem. This problem happened to me about 2 times yesterday.
Initially, once vehicle is started and radio is turned on, crackling sounds are heard across entire dash of car. Radio stops working. Some days radio works, other days long stretches of crackling and then radio stops. Recently, radio does not work at all. When back door is opened, speaker in rear driver door crackles and sound is heard all the way to the front driver door and across dash to the radio. Radio has stopped working altogether. Cannot be turned off (appears to be on even though not working). Events occurred over 2 week period. No difficulty with transmission, operation or dashboard. Last event with crackling occurred as rear driver side door was opened to put items in back seat. Car not running.
I almost got into a car accident due to the deafening noises coming out from the speakers while I was driving. It sounded like firecracker going off next to my ears. I was startled and trying to get off the freeway to fix the problem. Due to the distraction from the noises, neither did I flick the turning signal nor did I hear the honking from the vehicles behind me. Dealer unable to fix the problem, and asking for $783 to replace the radio. There are lot similar complaints like this, they need to make a recall on all digital signal processor module.
Entire electrical sync system has shut down and no longer functions. While the sync was going out, the speakers would crackle and make loud, startling pop sounds. This caused jerky driving as they would pop without any notice, even if the sync system was turned off. Recently, the wind shield wipers turned on and were sporadically increasing/decreasing in speed and would not turn off. The car was on (not the engine) and parked when the wipers turned on. Attempted to turn the car off, reset by opening the doors, and turning the car back on. They paused and then started up again once the car was driving on city streets. The speakers popping and the radio malfunction occurs while driving, while parked, when the car is on, and when it is off. This problem has been getting worse and worse over the past year.
The vehicle- whether stationary, in motion, or driving- emits random loud cracks and pops from the speakers. Even if my radio is turned off- the randomness of it is so scary that it is a driving hazard. I reached out to Ford and they will not fix it.
About 2 months ago, while driving, my radio made a very loud pop similar to a gunshot noise, then stopped playing music and would not turn back on until I turned the car off and back on. This would happen periodically. In about the past 2 weeks it has happened more and more often, and now the radio will not turn on at all. The noise coming from the speaker has gotten much worse. It now crackles, booms, makes high pitched noises, some of which are extremely loud. These noises now happen all the time- when the car is on and in drive (any speed), stopped, in park, and even happen when it is completely off, no key in the ignition at all. Being someone who scares easily, there is no doubt in my mind that if it happened at the right moment, these loud noises would cause me to crash. There is no recall and I cannot find any information where Ford even acknowledges the problem, even though a quick search on google shows that this is clearly a problem happening with many Focuses and similar models. I have video recordings but unfortunately cannot figure out a format that will work to upload them here, I would be happy to send them another way if who ever receives this complaint would like.
The radio in my 2012 Ford Focus se has malfunctioned. While driving one day, I heard a loud pop and then static. It was so loud it scared me and I almost had an accident. It has done this numerous times, even when the car is turned off and the key is removed from the ignition. Upon checking social media and complaints on the web, this has happened to quite a few 2012 Ford Focus vehicles. The only way to stop this from happening is to remove the fuse for the radio from the fuse box located under the glove box on the inside of the vehicle. Ford has refused to make the necessary repairs at their cost and I fully believe this is a safety issue due to the loudness of the popping and cracking. I have now been without a radio in my car for more than a year. After speaking with some audio experts, the only suggested solution is to replace the head unit for the radio. These cost more than $200. 00 alone, not including the labor to install the head unit.
It started as the radio being on and a loud cracklings sound would occur then the radio would stop and never turn back on. Now the radio is always on and still the sound occurs more frequently and sounds like gunshots going off. It's been so loud it has scared me to the point where I've lost some control of the wheel. Also the 911 assist can't be used when the radio isn't working. The vehicle can be sitting in my driveway of on the road.
Loud crackling/popping/static sound comes from radio at random intervals, radio then stops producing sound, have to turn the car off, open & shut door, then turn car back on then radio starts working again. Safety concern is the loudness of the sound coming at random times is startling and can cause an involuntary jerk/jump. . Read more...
Carhop car lots, not only in tulsa, but in surrounding areas, are selling cars that are unsafe, at any cost. The problems range from warped frames, cracked stress points, leaky fuel systems, electrical issues that couldn't be fixed by duct tape, even though it's visible where they re-taped things. Exhaust coming inside the vehicle, engine drive train issues that have been temporarily repaired, so they will run temporarily, but need further repairs.

2013 Ford Focus audio system does not function properly. Cracks and pop at extreme volumes even when system volume is fully turned down and/or off. Issue occurs even prior to vehicle being started, doesn't matter if car is running, driving, at a stop, in park, etc. Happens all the time. Extremely dangerous situation for driver as the sound is a similar volume to someone setting off fireworks in the car. This will cause accidents for drivers if it is not corrected. Ford claims this is not a widespread issue but a simple google search of "Ford Focus audio issues" brings up many results proving otherwise. Needs to be a recall. Happens every time I drive the car, began about 3 months ago and has only continued to get worse and happen more often. Audio system is not old enough to where I should be required to replace. Under normal circumstances an audio system should last as long as the life of the car, not four years. Ridiculous and dangerous, please correct.
Over the past 1 + years my radio would randomly make a hissing and cracking sound followed by a loud pop and stop working. Both the radio and blue tooth capabilities were disabled. Restarting the car would solve the problem. I have tried several times to update the sync/radio, but have not been successful. As per the Ford sync web site, I used well above the minimums storage (2gb) and had a properly formatted usb device, but the vehicle would not recognize the device for an update. Yesterday the radio completely stopped working and would continue to hiss and crack, even with the car turned off and keys out of the ignition. I have tried to reset the radio, but it is still not functioning and have no blue tooth capability.
Radio short -- the radio has stopped working and makes a very loud popping sound. It began as one loud pop. If you restarted the car the radio would work. Now, even with the radio off, the speakers will make an extremely loud popping sound. It happens randomly, and can happen out of the blue. When it happens it is very sudden, and very loud, loud enough to cause you to slam on the brakes, or immediately jerk the wheel due to fright. The radio makes static without the radio turned on, and even when you are not in the car. . Read more...

Sunroof exploded. Just driving along a city street at approx. 45 mph and a loud bang sounded. All my windows are closed, ac is on 2, and suddenly I hear wind. I crack the divider back a bit, and I see the hole and shattered glass. Literally happened to me with no warning, at 8:00 pm today (June 23, 2016), so no Ford customer service. Driving it to a Ford dealership tomorrow to have it looked at. Is this a recurring issue?.
None of my doors will open from the outside I have to leave a window cracked just to get in it had to pay somebody 140 just to get in it there is only two doors that will open from the inside now I have two kids that are still at home you have to go in the passenger door just to get in the driver seat.

Car hesitates, vibrates & shakes when accelerating from a stopped position to low speeds. I do a lot of city driving, highway driving, driving in rural neighborhoods. I also, on my way, to and from work have to cross a set of railroad tracks & I am so worried that my car may get stuck on the tracks, or my car won't accelerate as it should at a traffic light or stop sign & the car behind me won't stop in time & there could be an accident & I/any passengers could be injured. Bottom line: I am extremely concerned for my personal safety in a relatively new vehicle - purchased in December of 2014. I shouldn't be having these problems in such a new vehicle. The first time I took it to the dealership, it was a recall, so they reset the computer system, said it would take 1,000 miles to relearn my driving. After the 1,000 miles, it went back to the shaking, vibrating & hesitating. 2nd time bringing it in, I had the manager of the service department ride with me & he felt the shaking, so, again, they reset the system again, gave me the info about waiting 1,000 miles to reset. After the 1,000 miles, it again, began shaking, vibrating & hesitating at low speeds. The service manager gave me his card & said if I had any problems, give him a call. 3rd time bringing it in, the service department had a mechanic ride with me. Said he felt the vibrations, shaking, hesitation. While at the service desk, he then had the audacity to tell me that the program relearns bad behaviors instead of the good ones. It shouldn't matter if I'm a good or bad driver, the car should run properly. And now (3/21/16), I have felt the worst shaking, vibrating & hesitation ever. I felt incredibly unsafe today. Plus I had a passenger in my car that means a lot to me. I really hope that this issue can get resolved before something horrible happens.
