Electrical Jack Problems of Ford Focus

Ford has safety recall for faulty door latches and dealership states 1 to 2 month back up. Jack madden Ford refused to take vehicle and make repair. This issue according to service department at rodman Ford is the door latch may not secure and the door could open during vehicle operation. If the state of mass can give a rejection sticker taking an unsafe vehicle off the road what is my option if the dealership refuses to repair the recall and should the vehicle be taken off the road.

Purchased vehicle new from golden circle Ford, jackson TN. I have made complaints to Ford corporate about the transmission and tremendous shudder, loosing power and not shifting into lower gears. Area rep advised for me to get another opinion from dealer 100 miles from me and he would call back but he never did. Local service department says shudder is normal and service manager has same vehicle that does the same. Tells me this is the way transmission is made to get good gas mileage. I was recently rear-ended b/c my vehicle stalled and would not accelerate. I took it in again, after body repairs made, they told me, "normal, just the way it is". While sitting at intersection stopped, light turned green, I accelerated, vehicle stalled, was hit. Other party assumed liability but asked why I did not go ahead and move. My car did what it does constantly. Rpm's rev up to 3500 once vehicle decides to take off. Retired on fixed income, this was to be last vehicle. Afraid to pick up grandchildren and transport them. Where do I go from here? using husbands big truck to go places which is very hard for me to do. We have been doing business with gc since 1984 and extremely disappointed in response. This car should not be on the road. In the event I have a more serious accident, please look into why Ford would not recall this vehicle. If they rode in it, they would not want their family members using it. This issue has changed my way of travel and dependency. I say a prayer every time I get in it. I ask for protection and and safe return to my spouse, 5 children and 11 grandchildren. Please help!!! what do I do??.

Rear passenger door won't lock. My wife "apparently" locked the car at work in an open parking lot and later went to retrieve something from back seat to find that the door was not locked. No indication was given when locking the car using the remote locking mechanism that there is an issue because it sounds like it is fully locked. It isn't. I checked the issue by having her drive up and down the road making sure she thought all doors were locked and while she had stopped, I opened the rear passenger door and jumped in the back seat much as an attacker or carjacker might do. This is a safety issue because anyone can jump in the back of the car while stopped at traffic lights even though the owner may think that the car is securely locked, it just might not be. Beware and check all your door locks on a regular basis as this seems to be reported on multiple occasions on Ford Focus internet forums. To this date, we have no idea when the actual locking mechanism failed as it is not something we, or any other driver would check on a regular basis.

The driver side rear door (4 door sedan se model) will not lock. I can't lock it manually or electronically. The driver door will lock, but only with the key or when the lock in manually pushed. The driver side rear should never fail in a mode that can't be locked. This needs to be recalled. It is a safety issue. I can be carjacked, my belongs and car can be stolen. Children cannot sit in the back seat because the door will not lock.
