36 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2000 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 12/15/2002

Car has had the brakes serviced a total of five times and the car is stalling during acceleration. This car has been in shops for several recalls as well as twice for ignition lock failure. One of our children was trapped in rear seat by defective seat belt & had to be cut out with a knife. Car stalls after it warms up. Dealer says it's fuel pump but if that were so, wouldn't it stall waarm or cold. I spoke to an employee at another dealer who said Ford was finding problems with sensor connected with cooling system. Who do I believe? they want to charge us $700 to replace fuel pump that probably works fine.

38 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2001 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 04/01/2002

I was stopping at a light to turn. As I was slowing down I heard a big clunk. I thought I ran over something so I checked but nothing was there. I noticed my battery light was on but the light turned green to turn so I started to go and had no power steering. I pulled over at the liquor store and had my friend look under the hood. Upon pulling on the serpentine belt, the tensioner pulley fell right out of the bottom of the car. After looking over the incident we found a snapped off bolt in the street. Snapped neatly at the beginning thread. Also on the pulley, the mounting arm was snapped in half. I know ntsa is investigating many parts on the Focus, so I thought I'd give a heads up about this just incase it could pose any serious problems later on. Thanks and have a nice day.

39 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2000 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 08/23/2001

My motor mounts went out while I was driving down the highway making the engine hop. My seatbelts are locking up so that you can not get the seat belts on. And my tires cord broke making the tire wavy and the steel belt was showing through. (dot number: e13 027430 tiresize: p195/60r15).

40 Engine Belts And Pulleys problem of the 2000 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 08/01/2000

Gas mileage is poor on this size veh--motor kicks into neutral while driving at higher speeds. Dealer keeps telling me there is no problem/cannot duplicate, 4 incidents, this is very freighting. Especially in heavy traffic & cannot get off the road fast. Brakes wear between 16000 and 18000 miles with normal driving. The motor belt had to be replaced at 22000 miles. This never happened so soon with any vehicle I have ever owned. Repairs and services are very expensive, many safety recalls and product warnings that take time to repair. The dealer has a problem making sure the parts are available when I make an appointment. The wheel bearings have been replaced several times and sound like they may be going bad again! I do not feel safe in this vehicle. What if something fails while myself or my family are in this vehicle. This vehicle has depreciated at such a drastic rate, that I would be wise to trade it for another vehicle. I feel it is in direct relation to all the safety issues with this vehicle. **dimsii ivoq entry posted after 12/12/02 cut over to artemis**763169.
