Since the purchase of this for Focus 2012 two years ago, the engine will suddenly stall out and stop working entirely. I am 6 months pregnant and after bringing this car in for numerous repairs of this issue, with no real resolve, I am now furious. I was driving down a 4 lane highway at 65 mph and my engine said "parking assist failure" and the car died. I was almost hit by multiple cars as I tried to coast my way to the shoulder of the road. I turned the car off and back on and it started again. I called the dealership and was told I could bring it in "but they already fixed it. " then just a few days later I am at a busy intersection, and it stalls again. . This time wont turn back on. I have been given the run around from Ford, and the Ford dealership, and I need out of this car. I have always driven volkswagon's, and this was my first Ford. Never again. Meanwhile, I am underwater on my car loan now, because I have a car that is worth nothing.

Engine stalls at driving speeds. Ford issued a TSB for this vehicle but dealers are refusing to do the TSB because it is an intermittent problem. The TSB concerns faulty engine wiring harness. (TSB 13-9-7).
Ford Focus st 2014 on hot / humid day when you start the car up the engine revs will drop to <500 rpm and the engine will shutter or completely stall. In addition, while travelling at speeds 10-20 mph when the clutch gets pushed in the engine will hunt idle from xrpm and drop to <500rpm rapidly and the car will shutter or completely stall. I have been driving my car down the road and had it completely stall while moving. If this happens in the middle of the road or intersection it is seriously dangerous. Ford is aware of the issue, but are not fixing the electrical problem unless a specific engine code is stored in the computer. It has been proven that the engine will stall in these situations and still not throw an engine code, thus, Ford will not perform the service.
Engine stalls and shuts off while coasting or coming to a stop with the clutch in.
Engine stalls while moving at speeds up to 20mph. Difficult to restart. This has happened multiple times.
The car was on the interstate traveling at 55 mph ; the engine stalled and restarted, when existing to see whether it would gain speed, the car slipped out of gear . It went into reverse, backing up. After trying to correct it . The car sped up almost causing a major accident, the car restarted with the shift out of drive, I drove the car three blocks to my home. Ileft the car wherever it stopped, the next day, I tried to drive it; the car placed in drive went in reverse backing up. I left it there and had wrecker company to take it to a transmission shop on union avenue. They inspected the car and said it would take $2,0000 to get the transmission repaired. Since, the car was under engine warranty from Acura dealers of memphis, I had the wrecking company to take the car back to the dealship. They sold me a 2013 Toyota corolla which is experiencing the same problem. Now, I have another car from the sane dealership which apparentl sells used cars with transmission problems,.

I was driving at 45 mph with no signs that there was a problem with the car when the engine suddenly stalled. I was able to coast safely to the shoulder where I tried to restart the engine. The engine never restarted after several attempts, so I had to call a tow truck. The next day, the car was given a jump and the engine started, but something didn't seem right because the engine was running much louder than usual. The problem is in the process of being corrected, it will be brought to a mechanic tomorrow.
Engine stalls then turns off. I give it gas and it seems to get worse. Idles down to zero and turns off. I have to wait a couple of minutes, then it will run. It usually will keep happening every few miles until I stop for several hours. I can no longer drive on the interstate/expressway, too dangerous when it stalls at 75mph.
Car engine stalled without notice while cruising on a highway. Had to pull over immediately with remaining speed inertia. After 10 minutes car started ok, and then stalled again in a residential area. After restarting, the car stalled a third time. No "check engine" signal triggered. Mechanic unable to find anything wrong and unable to reproduce failure while test-driving the car for 30 miles. Two days later, car stalled again while yielding into a major highway. Had to pull over immediately, wait, restart car and get off at the nearest exist.
2001 Ford Focus - 23,000 miles. Engine stalls without warning. I have taken the vehicle to 4 different mechanics and the problem is not located.
2001 Ford Focus engine stalling.
2000 Ford Focus se, engine will stall with no warning causing a complete stop of the vehicle in the middle of the highway almost causing an accident. Since the problem didn't show any prior symptoms I consider this a major safety problem due to that when it happened to me in a 5 line highway at night with heavy traffic only luck helped me avoiding a major accident. I received a letter from Ford back on 2004 related to a fuel pump problem and a replacement program to vehicles having symptoms listed on the letter. At that time my vehicle was working fine so I follow the recommended action that was to take no action and safe the letter in case of something happening in the future. How good is the letter if this problem no give any warning signs it happen at any given time. Please follow up on this problem that had been reported by many owners.
Engine stalls repeatedly while driving at all speeds. Often the car will not start after stall. Vehicle is still under extended warranty and has been serviced four times, none of which have fixed the problem.
For the past 3 months I have had a problem with the engine of my 2003 Ford Focus zts stalling and sometimes cutting off completely. This happens under normal driving conditions and happens infrequently. It is very dangerous because the car can shut off while attempting to pull out across traffic or while in fast-moving traffic lanes. I have taken the car to my local Ford dealer where they have experienced the problem first-hand but been unable to fix it. It has been there a total of 4 times, and this one with be the fifth. Every time they have seemed to isolate the problem but it always seems to resurface within 48 hours. So far, the dealer has replaced: oxygen sensor, fuel pump, fuel modulator, and a transmission sensor. Jiffy lube has also replaced the fuel filter. Although none of these parts have been covered by my extended warranty, the dealer has been kind enough to compensate me for approximately the last three repairs from them. The car is still not fixed and I plan to take it back today. I am very frustrated because this is a car with 40,000 miles on it and rated very good by consumer reports. I have also checked several online forums and people are having the same problems but no one seems to know how to fix it. I feel like I have purchased a "lemon", but the nc law does not apply since I bought it in virginia. The virginia lemon law does not help either because it applies if the vehicle was serviced at the dealer it was originally purchased. I also feel like this vehicle should be part of a recall but Ford has failed to acknowledge the problem (there was a recall on 2001 models for the same issue). Any help you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

At 77,230 the rack and pinion needed to be replaced because it was worn and about to break. Also a week or two later at 77,300 miles the engine seized while driving. The dealership thinks that a housing ring came loose and welded on the cylinder. The engine was installed, but did resolve the problem. The vehicle has been shipped to the factory for further service.

Vehicle engine on a 2000 Ford Focus zx3 w/ 2. 0l dohc zetec engine routinely stalls when going around corners. The failure has occurred numerous times when attempting to travel on highway on/off ramps. The vehicle has stalled twice in the middle of the curve which caused a temporary lost of control on the vehicle. After a few seconds, the engine will resume normal operation and continue. In both circumstances, I was attempting to get on the highway and accelerate out of a turn. The engine was checked out and is in normal operating order.
Engine stalls at different speeds. Taken to dealer twice, last time new updated fuel pump put in as per recall. Still stalls even after that.
Engine stalling - the last two occurred while entering a freeway (from another freeway). I step on the gas pedal to accelerate and nothing happens - floor the gas pedal and still nothing. Then the car dies. Fortunately the first time there was no one behind me. The second time I immediately put on the flashers and the car behind me was miraculously able to swerve around me. This car is very unsafe.
2003 Ford Focus zx3 pzev engine stalls intermittently without warning while driving. All the instruments on the dash (speedometer, odometer, tachometer, oil pressure, etc. ) become inoperative. Must bring the car to a stop, put it in park, and turn the key to the off position before car can be restarted. Problem began with less than 500 miles on the car. In the three months I've owned the car it has stalled at least 20 times. Have had it to two different Ford service centers a combined total of five times and no one has been able to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The car is still at the dealership while they wait for a special Ford technician to come and try and determine what is wrong.
When I driving more than 40 miles continually the engine stalls, I have to wait and make several tries to restart it again, some times while I in the highway its make me lose the control of the vehicle due to the lost of acceleration.
While driving at any speed the engine stalled without warning. As a result the consumer had to pull over. The dealer inspected the vehicle several times but could not duplicate or correct the problem.
