My vehicle has had 3 evap canister valve recall repairs since 2021, I purchased my 2018 Ford Focus titanium brand new in January 2019. I have all receipts. I recently had the 3rd evap canister valve repair January 15,2025. My vehicle had pending codes p144a and p1450 which would have prevented it from passing texas emmissions. My vehicle has also had a transmission control module recall repair -tcm twice, once in 2022 and 2023. My car has had intermitten stalling in the middle of a intersection due to this recall putting me at risk for an accident. My vehicle currently has a pending code p2867 which is the tcm code. I have aaa tow truck history of my vehicle being towed to classic Ford for these repeat repairs. I have taken my car to classic Ford several times in galveston, TX in which they have not successfully repaired these recalls. Which has turned into repeat repairs. Invoices to prove it. Cook Ford in texas city recently repaired the 3rd evap canister valve on January 15, 2025 in which they also found the faulty code for the transmission control module. This is a serious concern.

Vehicle has difficulty starting after refuel. Vehicle stalls randomly to the point that is too much of a danger to drive. All of the symptoms correlate to recall (18s32) yet this particular vehicles VIN was not listed in the list of recalled vehicles. The dtc's are as follows,p0420, p0456, p1450. Upon being serviced for the Ford customer satisfaction program 24n07 it was noted by a service advisor that the replacement of a fuel tank and fuel pump was necessary which would be a reference to recall (18s32). However due to this VIN not falling under recall (18s32) the service for a replacement fuel tank and fuel pump is not covered by warranty. Vehicle has erratic and innacurate fuel gauge indication. Vehicle stalled in the middle of traffic shortly after service was completed. Dealership has no clearance from Ford to address problem because 24n07 makes no mention of components that could be affected by faulty canister purge valve, unlike (18s32) and as such leaves this vehicle to be a hazard on the road.

Additional information to existing case # 11636712. The 3rd evap canister valve repair on 1/15/2025 from cook Ford case# from Ford michigan regarding evap canister valve recall also, a 3rd pending code on the transmission control module on my 2018 Ford Focus listed on the cook Ford repair invoice.
Cruise control fails constantly, has trouble picking up speed going up hills. Can't maintain speed on hills and sloaps. Gave to dealership for two months said it was fine only for them to tell me they had no mechanic. Engine continues to fail and they won't check for new recall for free on my car. My check ending light is currently on, I believe it is the same issue with the other Ford Focus recall.

Kept getting my check engine light is says something about bleed up pressure in the fuel tank which when driving my throttle is not as responsive and when I fill up from empty I have to give it some gas in. Order to start and would sit at the red light or a stop sign with the clutch pressed in and it would sputter and stall which I would have to give it gas to restart the car.

My check engine light came on. I stopped at auto zone and had the check engine light read. The code came back as p1450 (canister purge valve). Upon checking the Ford website to run my VIN for recalls, nothing came back for my vehicle. I checked NHTSA and learned there have been 6 recalls, and 2 of those 6 seem to fit the issue I am having. However, since my VIN was not identified as one of the affect vins, I am not able to take advantage of either recall, Ford's number for this recall is 18s32 and 19s22.
I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2014 Ford Focus due to recurring error codes p0456 (very small leak detected), p1450 (unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum), and p2190 (system too rich at idle). These issues relate to the evaporative emission control system (evap) and fuel tank system, which have caused symptoms such as intermittent check engine light warnings, fuel odor, and difficulty refueling. These problems were confirmed by an independent service center during diagnostic testing, but the dealership refused to perform a goodwill fix, citing that my vehicle is not currently included in related recalls. This is particularly concerning because a large number of 2014 Ford Focus vehicles—approximately 1. 5 million—have been recalled for similar issues with the evap and fuel systems, which pose risks such as fuel vapor leaks and stalling due to fuel system pressure irregularities. Although my VIN is not listed under the recall, the identical symptoms strongly suggest my vehicle should be included. I have not had the vehicle inspected by Ford or other representatives, but I urge NHTSA to investigate further as this is a significant safety concern that endangers me and others on the road.
I was getting off of work to go home when I got on the main hwy my car just started to slow down and would not go over 10 mph and the speed limited on that hwy is 45 mph so I had to get off the road before I was hit from behind.
After filling up gas tank, car continues to sputter and tries to stall. This only happens after filling tank.
My car stalls when I get gas. If I get gas, I have to try multiple times to start my car and once it starts, I can’t stop. If I stop, my car will turn off and I have to start it again. My car has died in intersections and on streets many times. I called Ford and they told me that I am basically out of luck and will have to have it repaired on my own dime even though I am having the same symptoms of a current recall.
Check engine light p1450 fuel system vacuum. So many complaints of the same issue of the vehicle stalling and shuddering. The dealership refuses to even look at my vehicle. This is a serious safety concern. Someone needs to intervene because there are too many of us now driving dangerous vehicles because their parts don’t work properly and the dealerships are telling us there’s nothing they can do. Unacceptable additionally, my clutch assembly was recalled but the dealership must have reported my vehicle fixed because the recall is no longer showing up. This is false! they never fixed it! it has never actually been fixed even though I have taken it in easily 10 times.
On several occasions over the last several thousand miles, several issues have developed (all without warning at the time of first occurrence). At random times the engine will shut off when lifting out of the throttle. The car will run out of fuel before the fuel gauge is on empty or the "miles to empty" indicator state there are more miles to empty. Additionally, when shutting off the car to fuel at a gas station, the car takes up to a minute of cranking to re-start. When it starts, it will randomly shut off for the first several minutes unless throttle is applied before it shuts off. On 10/30/24 when driving with the gas gauge and range to empty indicators not on empty, the car stalled when beginning a slight climb, leaving the car stranded at night in the left most lane of traffic. This suggests fuel tank deformation. When issues started, the canister purge valve was tested and found to be working correctly. It appears recall 18v-735 is the issue here. Every symptom related to recall 18v-735 is being experienced ("malfunctioning canister purge valve (cpv) that can stick open and a powertrain control module (pcm) software that does not adequately detect a stuck-open cpv. A cpv that is stuck open in these vehicles can cause excessive vacuum in the fuel vapor management system, potentially deforming the fuel tank. If this occurs, the customer may observe a malfunction indicator light (mil), inaccurate or erratic fuel gauge indication, drivability concerns or loss of motive power. "). Expanding this recall to cover 2018 Ford Focus with the 1. 0l ecoboost seems prudent as Ford should update the pcm to avoid drivers of this vehicle being stranded in unsafe situations.
I am experiencing two significant issues with my 2016 Ford Focus, both of which closely match known recall problems documented for this model and year. However, my vehicle’s VIN does not currently show an active recall, and Ford has not covered the repairs. Canister purge valve (error code p1450): the canister purge valve in my vehicle is malfunctioning, leading to rough idling, poor fuel economy, and difficulties starting the engine. This issue also triggered the check engine light. My research shows that similar problems were included in a Ford recall for the 2016 Ford Focus, where a defective purge valve could cause stalling and inaccurate fuel readings. Despite these similarities, my VIN is not covered under this recall. Transmission control module (tcm) issues: my vehicle also has transmission performance problems linked to the transmission control module (tcm), causing hard shifting, irregular transmission behavior, and occasional failure to engage properly. The tcm issues are well-documented among 2016 Ford Focus vehicles, some of which were included in recalls and extended warranty programs, but my vehicle is excluded from this coverage. Given that these issues directly impact the vehicle's drivability and safety, I am requesting an investigation into why vehicles with similar symptoms are not covered by these recalls. These issues pose potential safety risks, including sudden stalling and compromised transmission performance. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
The evap purge valve assembly failed. An engine warning lamp did appear. While driving down the interstate the incorrect fuel mixture caused the vehicle to stall while in motion with my wife, and at the time, 3 month-old son were in vehicle. Although there was no accident, all power was lost and the vehicle had to maneuvered into the shoulder to prevent rear ending other vehicles. This was the 2nd time in 2 weeks. The vehicle was called into the Ford recall line, as there has been an open recall on the vehicle model and year. The Ford recall line said the vehicle was not affected by the recall, and no recall repairs had been made the vehicle. The Ford recall rep recommended to take the vehicle to a Ford dealership. The vehicle has been inspected by a Ford dealership. The dealership confirmed the issue was the issue seen in previous recalls, but the dealership stated they could see a previous dealership had made the recall repaired (in contrast to the Ford recall representative’s statement). So, the vehicle was either not repaired under either of the (2) active recalls (as stated by the Ford dealership), or the recall fix to update the software and replace the evap purge valve is not effective, leaving the vehicle in an unsafe condition to operate. The rich mix of fuel caused by the failure has led to a clogged catalytic converter.
I know there is already a recall for other Ford Focuses with this same issue. My cpv is not working. The car breaks down every time I fuel and its a huge safety hazard as this happens far from my home usually and its very scary for me. I heard it can ruin my engine.
I was on my way home from work when my oil light came on and I began losing acceleration on a busy highway. It wouldn't let me go above 20 mph which was definitely unsafe due to the nature of traffic on the highway. I managed to pull over and get my car towed to the most recent place I had an oil change. After a few days, they stated that the vehicle had sustained a loss of engine oil pressure and that there was a recall for this issue. They also stated to contact Ford and that the vehicle was undriveable. When I checked the open recalls, I confirmed that there was indeed a recall open for this issue concerning the oil pump, however, Ford motors state that they will not have the parts available until 1st quarter 2025. This is puts the timeframe on a remedy at roughly 3-7 months, which is unacceptable as this is my only vehicle and the only way I am able to get to work.
2017 Ford transmission, 2017 Ford dashboard.
-canister purge valve malfunctioning. Vehicle is available for inspection upon request. -this is a potential safety risk, makes and models within the same year are showing recall. When checking the specific VIN, does not appear to be covered under current recall. -failure code p1450 -no -check engine light.
This vehicle stalls while driving due to a faulty purge solenoid inspected by pep boys mechanic. There was a recall on the Ford Focus in 2018 18v735000(recall number) I purchased this vehicle in 2023 with no known recalls. This issue occurred September 2024 I paid for the repair two weeks ago and now the same issue is existing. There were no warning lights displayed when the car stalled while driving. My safety and the safety of my child is at risk being that the vehicle stalls while driving which is could be the cause for accidents and or collisions.

After filling up the car with gasoline, the car would not start. Once the car started, after several tries, it was shifted into drive. The car would not move, the pedals were all locked up. You could not push on the brake, gas, none of the pedals would work. The car is available to be looked at. It has been looked at by an independent mechanic who determined there was excessive vacuum in the fuel vapor management system. The check engine light is on, returning the evap code. My seventeen year old daughter was stranded at night alone with a car that wouldn't start. This issue has happened multiple times. There is a recall in place for the 2017 Ford Focus that covers this exact issue, but excludes my car.
The malfunction light came on in my car I had a mechanic check the code that came up and he said it was the canister purge valve! then I noticed whenever I put fuel in my car it was hard to start it would sputter and almost die !.
I am the owner of a 2017 Ford Focus vehicle. Recently, I have encountered multiple occurrences of stalling while driving on the highway. In two of these instances, I was in the process of passing a semi-truck and fortunately had no other vehicle behind me, or my safety and that of others may have been put at great risk. After the first incident, the check engine light appeared and was addressed by a mechanic who believed it was likely the result of a vapor lock. The issue later reoccurred and left me stranded on the interstate in a rural location where I had to wait for several hours before being transported to a nearby hotel. The vehicle started again the following morning, and I was able to finish the trip. After conducting some research, I discovered two separate recalls (identified by the NHTSA campaign ids 18v735000 and 19v515000) that had been issued for cars of this model and encompassing the year of my vehicle’s construction. The malfunction, as issued by a mechanic, fit the exact specifications of the recall; that is, malfunction of the canister purge valve, causing excessive vacuum in fuel vapor management systems, that can result in an engine stall while driving and without warning. I was surprised to learn that my vehicle’s VIN was not associated with any such recall; however, I was informed by my mechanic that a software update (18s32) had occurred on June 6, 2019, possibly removing association of the recall statement with my vehicle’s VIN. I am unsure at this time of the extent of damage to the carbon canister, fuel tank, and fuel delivery module. The only issue visible from the exterior is a slight depression of the fuel tank caused by excessive vacuum. The canister purge valve was replaced on September 10, at a cost of $270. 03. Due to the nature of the incident and its exact resemblance of the recall issued, I would like to seek compensation for the replacement of the defective purge valve and further inspection of the carbon canister, fuel tank, a.
Engine light came on while after car hassertated withe code p144a engine detected running the pcm and obstruction in the evap system purge vapor line is blocked and to replace emissions system purge vapor canister purge control valve.
There was already a recall performed on the vehicle for the purge valve being stuck open and a gas tank deformation. Fast forward a few years and now the same issue is happening to the "repaired" parts. What are my options to have this recall correctly repaired?.
My engine light came on. I went and had it scanned and it said it was the canister purge valve. I see that 2017 Ford Focus has a recall on it and was wondering if this is connected to it.
Car is shaking and wanting to drive less and less lately its not moving faster then 20 mph. I have no other way to work and I'm sure this will cause an accident soon.
My 2016 Ford Focus se is stalling at higher temperatures while driving at high speeds, which is very dangerous. This issue occurs primarily during hotter daily temperatures. I have previously taken the vehicle in for the recall (NHTSA campaign number: 18v735000) related to the canister purge valve (cpv) malfunction, which was supposed to address excessive vacuum in the fuel vapor management system. However, this did not resolve the stalling issue. This has stalled my car out at interstate highway speeds (75 mph) which makes me lose power steering and acceleration and has nearly ended in accidents numerous of times due to this.
Since I have had this car the engine has been replaced 4 times and transmission once engine has been replace 3 times under the same warranty due to recalled part I was not in an accident however car broke down while I was in traffic I am putting the latest date car broke down.
I bought this car in 2020-2021. My check engine light came on recently and when I took it in to get it fixed, I payed $1,140 (general maintenance, and fuel injector cleaner) and when I picked it back up they informed me that some 2018 models had a recall on my car. I called the dealership, and they informed me I had no open recalls. However, I am having all of the symptoms of the recall open on some of the same vehicles. Whenever I get gas, my car will not start. I have to turn my car over multiple times before it will safely start. Sometimes, when I get gas, if I slow down or completely stop my car will just turn off and then I have to repeat the same process over and over until it will start on its own. It has died in the middle of busy roads before and it is not safe.
1) each and every time I pop it fuel into my car, even if I'm just topping it off, when I start it it like starts to bog down like it's clogged or something, then just like that clears up. 2) while car is off, and no keys in ignition at all, my cars dashboard makes this almost clicking sound and I notice the fuel tank and gauge both shot b up to the top then drop back downs, it's strange, 3) sometimes when accelerating from hear the car almost stalks. . . That's v the only way I'd be by able to describe it.
Car will stall and then completely shut down. And takes awhile to restart. This last time I was on the highway and cars were going so fast. Almost had a panic attack!!.
Oil light on engine is on. Issue is related to recall. Not able to fix issue until early next year.
