I have problems with the canister purge valve. In the NHTSA safty recall, it decribes perfectly what has been going on with the car and is getting much worse. After putting gas it stalls everytime. Sluggesh acceleration. . Strong smell of gas as putting gas in tank. . . Everything the safety recall decribes is whats happening. Why why why is my VIN not listed with the recall???? 2017 Ford Focus.

My car has a check engine light with code p1450. This problem occurred in 2019 and was addressed by reprogramming the pcm. In 2021 I got the same code and now the purge valve is stuck open. I noticed that after adding fuel the car had trouble starting up until I gave it a little extra gas. I was advised not to drive the vehicle as it may stall, suddenly go into limp mode, or the fuel tank may collapse. I would like to note that all other Focuses of this generation have received a recall on the purge valve, but excluding my engine the 1. 0. A lot of digging into forums has shown me that many 1. 0 owners have had this problem with their Focus. Quite shady to recall only some of the Focuses when it seems that it's a common problem with all engine variations.

My engine light came on and I went to get it checked and the code was p1450 unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum was the code show up. What does that mean and what do I do?? thanks.
I have had so much trouble with this car I am upside down on it. Now all the electrical stuff seems to be shorting. I was driving and my fuel gauge kept going to zero then back up to half a tank. Then my check engine light came on. My horn doesn't work which is is huge safety concern for me those are just the new issues I also have had the tcm replaced twice and it never made a difference to the car.

This is a problem related to safety recall 18s32. Ford Focus 2012 stalled and shut off while backing out of driveway and wouldn't turn back on. I went to an independent car shop and was told the purge valve malfunctioned and caused the gas tank to deform. I called my Ford dealer and requested them to replace the parts because it was the same problem from the 2018 recall. They confirmed that it was the same issue but said they wouldn't replace the parts for free because they already closed the recall. However, when they closed the recall for me in 2019, they didn't tell me that they only reprogrammed and didn't actually replace the parts. If they had replaced the parts in 2019, they wouldn't have malfunctioned now. Obviously the Ford dealer must have made a mistake when attempting to repair my car and didn't actually fix it. This is a huge safety issue for Ford cars because the car can stall and turn off at any time. Even if they fixed it back in 2019 (which obviously they didn't), it's not working now, meaning they need to do another recall and actually solve the problem. I'm now stuck driving my car with a huge safety issue until I can afford to pay for the repairs or until they reopen the recall.
I took my car into the Ford dealership for a safety recall involving a stuck canuster purge valve in the fuel tank. At the time, (March 2020) they used one of their devices to detect pressure and no codes came up with a detection so they did not fix the valve and closed my recall. It is now only 9 months later and the same valve that was recalled is faulty and has crushed my fuel tank and deformed my pump. They however, are refusing to reopen the recall and fix the issue even though it is a very severe safety hazard. My fuel tank could combust at any time because it isnt able to release pressure properly and this all due to their faulty valve involved in recall #: 18v735000 is there anything you guys can do on your wnd to help me fight this?.

I was driving on a busy highway where the speed limit is 70 miles per hour, and the car suddenly slowed down while I was stepping on the gas, until it stopped and then cut off in the middle of I-40, while other cars sped by me swerving out of the way in order to not crash into me from behind. I then took the 2012 Ford Focus se to my mechanic, and after he investigated the malfunction, he said he observed the gas tank of the car "breathing in and out like a diaphragm or a lung" due to an excessive vacuum, which he thought had also damaged other parts of the fuel system beyond just normal wear and tear. The mechanic told me to take the Ford Focus to a Ford dealership right away, because a fuel tank moving in that way causes fissure cracks to develop inside of it that could cause a tank to leak gasoline or rupture during a crash, potentially causing an explosion. The mechanic also told me he could not imagine that the Ford dealership wouldn't remove and then replace the fuel tank on my car, because not doing so in his opinion would be extremely dangerous. Then I took the car to the Ford dealership located 2807 east millbrook road, raleigh, north carolina, 27604 - phone number: (984)232-7601, and they told me that it looked fine to them, and that the car door hinges were also under recall and they weren't going to replace those either. Then I told the Ford dealership that I'd already taken the car to another mechanic first, and that I thought they were trying to repair as little as possible and do as little repairs as they could get away with; then I asked them to reexam the car again. But if I hadn't already taken that vehicle to a different mechanic first, the Ford dealership would have given it back to me in an extremely dangerous condition rather than making the necessary repairs that Ford is being forced to do by the government.
The fuel tank collapsed, the fuel gauge is acting erratically, it is lacking power and the codes p0171 and p1450 are showing. The fuel tank is also deformed. The check engine light came on, so the vehicle was taken to a local shop to find out what was wrong. The recall 18s32 has been issued for these problems but when we called a local Ford dealership, they informed us that our vehicle is not covered under the recall.

Recall 19s22 needs to be extended for 2017 Ford Focus with a build date extended from April 2017 to at least October 2017. Mine is experiencing the exact symptoms of this recall and is not included. This is for the fuel tank deformation recall for a stuck canister purge valve. Car stalls after refueling with codes p0456 and p1450.
The vehicle was under half a tank pf fuel and begam to sputter and jolt amd dies. It started but cranked long and hard. This happens whenever the fuel is at half or below. I searched my VIN it says the fuel rscall isn't a issue bit its doing exactly that.
Service engine light indicated evap, very small leak. Reset code and a different code came up for a vacuum in the fuel tank. Unable to effect repairs my self and made an appointment at cardinal Ford dealership. 11400 new halls ferry rd. Stl, 63033. Attached documents detail repair and cost.

Car stalled while driving and would not re-start. Car was low on fuel (approximately 1/8 of tank) but was not out of gas.
I took my vehicle to Ford for a recall on the canister purge valve in the fuel system. They previously fixed it on April 16, 2019. My fuel tank imploded and my car was stalling out and eventually would not start. Now it's out again and my car is stalling out while driving, having issues with starting and my check engine light is on. This has all happened on both city street at lights and highways. Mainly when I am stopped at a stop light it will rev up by itself and then stall out when I start accelerating. I've almost been rear-ended due to this issue. I was told there was no such recall on my vehicle for this matter and when I tried to show them the document I have for the recall they still deemed it incorrect. They refused to fix my car because of it previously being fixed and sent me on my way. I have had many issues with the car resulting in it breaking down multiple times due to recalls. The transmission itself has been replaced twice and the cpv once and now it needs replaced again. I called Ford corporate and they would not do anything for me, only kept repeating that it's a one time fix. Ford simply put a band-aid on the issue rather than solving the issue.
Under Ford recall # 18s32 a fuel tank deformation may happen from the canister purge valve (cpv). My vehicle was only fixed with the replacement of purge valve and reprogramming the pcm; akins Ford invoice# focs439115' line j#3 on invoice. No where on the invoice does it say the fuel tank was inspected. I received car back and I had run out of fuel twice (with gauge saying atleast 50+ miles to empty) over the next few months. I have another recall for the door locks and after talking with dealership we agreed to schedule a date where as Ford could give a loaner car so that the dealership could address both issues. A week later I was told that the fuel tank is deformed and needed replacement but Ford would not pay for it?? I was given email that Ford will not go back to open the case about tank recall because they feel I am not a " long term value (ltv) customer" ? fyi I and my family have bought several cars over the years and just because I haven't purchased a new one in the last 5 years and did just buy this car at beginning of 2020 ;but my brother in-law did at end of 2019. . ? why should this matter when a safety issue; which it is still, where the car could stop running while in the highway because of the unsure status of how much fuel is left. There are several things online about this happening to other owners cars just stalling in the lanes.
User had a quarter of a tank of gas before heading home. Shortly after, user started the car and it stalled. User did not think much of it. User shut it down and turned key to the "on" position and the check engine light turned on. The car turned over and worked. Shortly after, user was driving car down the road towards his house and the engine stalled. Systems and electronics screen were on, but everything else glitched and nothing really worked, the car torque steered the user into oncoming traffic lane. User had to use e-brake to properly slow down and pull to the shoulder of the road and turn key all the way off into the "off" position. User waited 5 minutes to ensure all systems were shut down, and started car back up again to safely drive the rest of the way home. User has extended warranty and will immediately have dealership look at vehicle.
Steering seized up at 70k miles. Elec. Rack & pinion needs replacing $2800! this should not happen at 70k miles - extremely dangerous and expensive to fix on a 5 yr old car. Transmission stutters - was recalled, "fixed" and still hesitates occasionally. Never take an intersection for granted because car might stutter - extremely dangerous sometimes. Gas tank recalled - fixed.
For some time now I have been trying to get 2 recalls fixed on my vehicle : 18v735 and 16v643. When I previously called the dealership they did not have the parts yet for the recalls. Just yesterday while driving with a passenger in the rear seat of the car the rear door came open by itself and now will not close. I called the dealership (loganville Ford in monroe georgia) who told me 1. That they could not get me in for the repair until next Wednesday (9/9) and 2. They would not provide a loaner vehicle. I explained first that how was I supposed to drive a vehicle for a week with a door that would not close? and second this is my only mode of transportation, this is not something I did to my vehicle , this is a safety defect by the manufacturer that needs to be addressed and Ford and / or the dealership needed to provide a loaner or a rental (at the manufacturers expense) until the safety repairs can be addressed and made. I further explained that safety recalls should take precedence over other repairs as it is a hazard and someone can get hurt. Both Ford and the dealership are both denying use of a loaner and I am yet to hear back about a rental at the manufacturers expense and I do not think it will come to fruition. I am going to reiterate, this is not something that I did to my vehicle, this is a serious safety recall that needs to be addressed. If the latches can be replaced on all 4 doors and the fuel tank deformation can all be repaired in a few hours I have no problem waiting on the vehicle, however we know that these repairs never take less than one day, all reports I read say it may take up to 4. That said, Ford needs to provide either a loaner or a rental at their expense, not mine. This is my last stop to get closure in this case, I have spoken to far too many people and am not getting anywhere, my next stop will be to the local and national news.
Ii took my car in to the dealership when I received my recall on my vehicle. I was then told by the service manager that they could not fix it due to the fact that the recall part has not start to go out yet . So now the car recall problem is causing problems now. So I took it back to dealership and was told they was not going fix it because the recall had expired now. Mind you this is my only transportation and I am a single mother with a precious 5yr. Daughter that I have transport in this car. So can you please help me with my car I do not want to broke down on the dangerous highways and roadway with my family in this car. Help help help please and thank you!!!!!! I was at the gas station getting gas and the car cut off. And the recall has something to do with the fuel tank deformation. I spoke to the service manager, his manager and the gm manager at Ford. They told it was nothing they could do. And I to fix it my self.
My gas tank is starting to implode.
A full tank is 160 miles. And has a smell when the a/c on. Engine light on but can't find the problem.
My check engine light came on and I took it to a local mechanic. The codes were p1450 and po456 which are associated with the safety recall of the canister purge valve. The fuel tank is also deformed. My cars VIN is not associated with the recall so they will not cover it and I am expected to cover it. My car also has vibration at idle and has clutch shudder over 250 rpm. Ford fixed my transmission module in 2018 with a previous recall after it stalled several times. Now I am having issues again. The service advisor said they updated the transmission module in 2018 but the customer care agent tried to tell me they replaced the parts entirely in 2018 and not just updated. I notified her of the service advisors statement and then she went back to saying my VIN wasn't part of an open recall. My vehicle is at 74,563 miles and has already had several major issues regarding transmission and canister purge valve.
The fuel gauge and miles till empty is always wrong so I constantly run out of gas while driving anywhere. When I put the fuel nozzle in my tank it makes a hissing noise (compressed air) or it sprays fuel out of the tank. I have a check engine light that won't go off.

Gas mileage was not correct and took to a mechanic where they found a warped fuel tank that was causing distance to empty to be inaccurate. Told me I needed a fuel tank and charcoal canister that would cost over $1000 . Called a Ford dealership to explain that it was having similar issues to a recall Ford Focuses are having with the fuel tank but told me there is no recall on my vehicle and reached out to Ford directly and told me the same thing and just to make sure I keep my receipts. This issue occurs in motion on highway and city. The Ford reference number for this recall is 18s32. Https://media. Ford. Com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2018/10/25/Ford-motor-company-issues-recall-in-north-America-for-select-201. Html.
During early lockdown for pandemic I allowed a local Ford dealership to valet service my car for oil change, inspection, etc as well as a fuel tank recall 18s32. Car was showing no recall symptoms before the service but was returned to me in very poor condition. Engine seems to vapor lock at the most inopportune times with no power to accelerate into traffic and wants to stall out, then it catches its breathe and wants to take off out from under me. I'm a 62 yr old woman who trusted a local dealership and now I have a car that is extremely unsafe to drive. The service writer could care less and wants to claim that I now need a new transmission. Just did a shoddy job and want more money from me. I'm so disappointed.
I just recently bought a car and it has been stalling while driving and having difficulty starting/revving itself up after I fill the gas tank. I have taken it to a shop to get a diagnosis and they said that it might have been the recall for the gas tank. Well, I looked up to see if my car had already gotten fix for the recall and it said that it did. So it might have happened again, and I'm not quite sure what to do. It happens every so often. As the engine light also comes on and off. When the light is off, the car is perfectly fine, but when it's on, it tries to stall.
Check engine light came on and checked- diagnosis purge valve is stuck open which is allowing engine vacuum into the fuel tank which has flattened the fuel tank flat. There is currently a recall on 2018 Ford Focus for this same issue it just does not include my VIN. I would like to have it included in current recall.
Transmission- was denied service for clutch replacement due to mileage over 100,000. Though I filed complaint at 90,000 miles. Also, transmission leaks due to the faulty transmission. Unsafe due to possible fire hazard. Fuel- fuel tank was repaired by certified service dealer, since the repair I've been stranded 7x due to unable to get fuel. Half tank of gas traveling high speeds on interstate with traffic and car shuts off, I lose ability to control vehicle. 3x I've barely avoided collision. Single mom, one vehicle. Something has to give.
Each time I fill the car with gas, even with the tank half full, the car stalls and has trouble starting. I have checked for clogged or cracked fuel lines and there are none. It puts out the code p1450. Replacement of the fuel tank pressure solenoid and it's still having the same problem. I have read that there may be a recall of some sort on the fuel system in these cars.
Car will not start. . . I was driving and the engine is acting like it needs fuel when there is gas in the tank. I had the pcv and coal. Xanaster replaced except the gas tank Ford store says gas tank is not deformed. . .
This is about recall 18s32 fuel tank deformation recall I had this car in the dealership several times and my opinion this dealership is useless I run my VIN on this site and shows this recall has not been fixed I also have another issue that seems is being looked at by fmcsa the steering fault and the steering going out I personally had a close call when the steering went out and almost caused a wreck.
My car stalls when driving without warning and shuts off after I fill the tank and when the tank is low. I have difficulty starting the vehicle when I fill up. It's a recall on this particular issue on the make and model of my car but Ford saying is VIN specific and my VIN is not included even though I'm having that problem. I paid for the Ford dealership to diagnose the problem. What's being recalled is the exact problem I am having but they won't fix it because my VIN isn't included.
Same issue with fuel tank deformation. October 2018 was the recall. About 1 year ago greenway Ford had the car for the whole day and stated they fixed it but now I received a letter stating the recall fixing was incomplete and the recall states it is increased risk for a crash due to stalling of the engine. September 2017 shifting clutch failed and was not informed August 7 2017 transmission shuttering now there is a fuel tank deformation the car shakes alot.
Car was taken to Ford dealership to have the recalls done for the transmission, fuel tank evap and door latch. Ford completed the recalls for the fuel system and door latch at this poticular time the transmission was not fixed. (did not pass Fords shutter test). At this time the check engine light was on because of the transmission, according to the Ford dealership. I picked the car up amd drove with my son the vehicle did not drive right because transmission issues. I contacted the dealership again after contacting Ford motor company about my concern with the drivability of the car. I made an appointment but had to wait approximately three weeks because they were replacing the floor in their shop. The check engine light remained on the entire time until the appointment. After dropping he car off and Ford diagnosing the problem, I received a call saying Ford motor is now covering the transmission and they will have to wait for parts to finish it. At this time they also informed me that the check engine light is now on because of the purge valve. I had barely driven the car since the last visit when the recalls were taken care of?? they stated that the purge valve would not be covered because the recall had been completed on the fuel tank. Reluctantly I told them to replace at my cost. The dealership called to say the vehicle was complete. I picked it up that evening and made it 7 miles away from the dealer and the check engine light came on once again. I called the dealer immediatley to let them know and they could not get me in right away. My son and I took it for a ride the following day and approximaty 40 miles the car lost power and could not go above 40mph on the interstate. I called to make another appointment when they diagnosed this time both catylitic convertors are bad and will cost $2100 to repair. What caused these to go bad this was not an issue until reca.
