1 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2012 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 11/20/2022

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed but the brakes failed to stop the vehicle. The failure caused the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle. The contact sustained back injuries and scratches from the seat belt; however, medical attention was not received. A police report was filed. The contact then parked the vehicle in a parking lot, where it remained. The vehicle was not deemed totaled by the insurance company due to a lapse in insurance coverage. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that prior to the failure, the vehicle lost motive power with the abs, tpms, and brake warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure, and the abs, tpms, and brake sensors were faulty, causing the battery to drain rapidly. The dealer replaced the transmission and the sensors for the abs, tpms, and brakes; however, the failure recurred. The failure mileage was approximately 101,000.

3 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2008 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 10/19/2014

The NHTSA by telling tire dealers that they can not install my mounted snow tire because they don't have tpms sensors have made driving in the winter more dangerous and unsafe for me. The system in my summer tires has been inoperable for 2 years and you know what has happened. . . Absolutely nothing. The cost of the sensors is very high and if you guys want me to have them so badly, then pay for them yourselfs. This is just another example of nanny state government trying to make it look like they are doing something to justify their pathetic existence. So in summary you are actually making things more dangerous for drivers by denying tire retailers from installing snow tires on my vehicle because they dont have a worthless sensor that doesn't do anything to make driving safer for me. I hope you guys are happy with yourselves .

4 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2000 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 05/13/2011

The wal-mart store 4379 on bush river rd in columbia SC has failed to give/ fill out the tire registration cards for at least the last 7 months. They sell between 100 and 150 tires a week and absolutely no registration cards are being filled out. This can be proven by looking up the tire sales for any day and then watch the video recordings over the front counter and you will see that no cards are being handed out. I know what a safety issue this is and I have tried to handle it to the best of my ability and the store is refusing to start handing them out. I know that there is at least a five thousand dollar fine per card not handed out and by my calculation this walmart alone has around $3,250,000. 00 in fines. I hate for walmart to be fined this much but I have done everything I can think of to get it fixed and they are just not fixing it and I am afraid that there is going to be a recall on tires and people who bought their tires there want know and might get hurt. For the date below I just put a random date because this issue has been going on for at least 7 months. The only thing that is going to make them start doing things right is a hefty fine. In my mind this is a huge safety issue and peoples lives could be at stake. I be leave that this issue has been going on for more than 7 months, but all I can speak for is the last 7 months. Please please please take care of this problem before some gets hurt or killed because wal-mart is refusing to follow the regulations for being a tire retailer. If you look into it and the cards haven't been handed out in the last year and say they only sale 100 tires a week at 5000 dollar fine per tire then the fines add up to $26,000,000. 00 please help me take care of this before some one gets hurt because of a tire recall like the firestone incident a few years back. I called to find out how to file a complainant and the man sent me this form but my complainant is for all tires they sale not just good year. Its for all tires.

5 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2009 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 09/24/2010

I recently had four (4) new tires installed on my 2009 Ford Focus. In the process, one or more tire pressure sensors were damaged. The tire store has 'welded' the broken item back into place, a temporary fix at best. The tire pressure sensors are apparently fragile and vulnerable to the types of stress put on the auto wheels during tire changes. I assume that the "fix" may fail at any time, and also that during future tire replacements, other sensors will be damaged. Ford needs to fix this problem. I know two other Ford Focus owners, both of whom have suffered similar problems during tire changes.

6 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2009 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 11/07/2009

The contact owns a 2009 Ford Focus. The contact stated that the ignition was turned on that the tire pressure system monitor warning light indicator did not illuminate when tire failure occurred. Due to the failure of the warning indicator the tires completely deflated and nearly shredded. The failure occurred whenever the vehicle was in operation. The vehicle was taken to the dealer approximately three times for the identical failure. The technician stated that the tire pressure system monitor operated properly and that the warning light illuminated when the tire pressure measured 15 psi, although the accurate pressure should measure between 26 to 27 psi. The contact was waiting on a response from the manufacturer regarding the failures. The failure mileage was 24,274. The current was mileage was 33,512.

7 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2008 Ford Focus

8 Tire Pressure Monitoring System problem of the 2005 Ford Focus

Failure Date: 02/28/2008

Bought 2005 Focus zx5 new. Orig tires pirelli. Lost air constantly. No one would honr or fix. I had to buy new tires with only 2,245 miles on the car. Goodrich 205/50-16 which the tire dealer said is made for Focus. The Ford dealer said the tires were the wrong tire for Focus. Now the tires have 24,000 miles on them and they are bald. Ford dealer denies he told me tires were wrong and I am now facing having to buy new tires again. Dealer will not help. Tire dealer says "OH well" the car does terrible on wet & snow-icy roads even at 15 to 35 miles an hour. What am I to do? why is Focus known for abnormal tire wear per TSB's and the dealers will not help? this happens all the time, last time was 3/17/08.
