36 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2015

While driving, the car will suddenly lose all acceleration and the maintenance wrench light will come on. This has happened while accelerating from a stop, and while going 60 mph down the highway. The only way to reset it is to restart the car. If the car is not restarted, it will shake vigorously as if it is going to stall on its own. Once restarted, acceleration is restored to normal until it does the same thing again.

37 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2015

I was driving my car, and with no warning the orange wrench appears and loss of acceleration occurs. Had to pull over and restart the car. This happened 3 times today and could have potentially caused an accident each time. There is apparently a throttle recall, but does not include my 2010 Ford Fusion. Not sure what I need to do.

38 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2015

While driving the instrument panel lights up with an organge wrench and check engine light. I am unable to accelerate and need to get off the road as quickly as possible. When I press on the gas pedal nothing happens. It sounds and appears like the car is about to stall. This has happened at least 8 times in the last week. I had the car towed to my mechanic who told me it is the trottle body and that a Ford dealer would fix it. I dropped it off only to pick it up 2 days later and they told me nothing was found. Since it didnt occur while they were driving it they would not replace the part. I have no other option but to continue to drive the car as I am a single mother with no other means for transporation and the mechanics at the Ford dealership told me it was "safe. " the car engine stops responding at high speeds. . How is that safe?!.

39 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at 45 mph, the vehicle lost power as the vehicle jerked and hesitated before accelerating . In addition the vehicle stalled. The contact was not able to restart the vehicle. The service vehicle soon and security lock warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to a dealer who diagnosed that the throttle box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,801. Ed.

40 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/19/2015

While driving down the freeway at approx 70mph in heavy traffic, the vehicle made a slight jerk, and lost propulsion. I had to cross several lanes of traffic off to the edge of the road. There was no response to pressing on the gas pedal. Once stopped and in park, the engine idled very roughly, shaking the entire car. I turned off the engine, waited about a minute, and re-started the car. It had to crank for a few seconds before turning over and starting. It then drove fine for about another 10 miles before quitting again. I again stopped, then restarted the car, and limped it home on side roads, off the freeway. It did not drive smoothly, but made it the other 15 miles home without quitting again. I took the car to an independent mechanic, who researched and found a known problem with the throttle body, causing these exact symptoms, and has referred me to a Ford garage for an in-warranty repair. The appointment for that is tomorrow.

42 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2015

The night we bought this car, used from a Ford dealer, it wouldn't go in reverse without jumping/bucking. They were swift to give us a loaner while they "reprogramemd" the car. Now, it all makes sense. They put a bandaid on it until we couldn't return it. Since then, just over 2yrs ago, we have had throttle replaced x3, cleaned once for $250 (while on the way south for vaca, we got stuck hundreds of miles from hm until Ford dealer opened 2 days later. ) this car has stranded us three diff times while out of state on vaca. Now while on interstate, the wrench light will go on, the car starts bucking and acting like a manual in the wrong gear. But, has no acceleration. Just revs to 4k-6k rpms. Dangerous almost being run over by semis going full speed behind you or having to try and cross 5 lanes of traffic to get to emergency lane--with no acceleration! this car is a dangerous death trap. Shocking to me how Ford hasn't stood behind their vehicles. We, as a huge extended family, have always stood behind Ford. Always bought Ford. Now, we have been duped by them. They knowingly sold us a faulty car, putting thousands of other buyers in danger as well, and haven't done a thing to prove to the consumers that they care about us as customers or one iota about our lives. If Ford doesn't recall these, I know we will see deaths from it. Its prob going to be the next automotive world scandel like the airbags. Our Fusion is an expensive piece of metal, with a huge pymt, just sitting in our driveway useless. Somehow, we have to figure a way to save thousands for a transmission on a 6yr old car. Never thought Ford would turn out to treat their loyal customers this way.

43 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/24/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at approximately 60 mph, the check engine light illuminated intermittently. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the computer reflash needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed the throttle body needed to be repaired. The contact had went back to dealer with the diagnosis however the technician denied to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximately failure mileage was 75,363. Ak.

44 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2015

The car would not accelerate beyond 5. - 10 mph, while in motion, no matter how far the accelerater was depressed. It was driven to the closest repair shop and we were to,d it was the throttle body. The repair has worked to date.

45 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2015

Driving on the freeway, wrench indicator came on and my car started loosing speed. Pulled over to the side turned off the car and waited about a minute. Turned it back on and everything was working fine and wrench icon was gone. This happened twice in the last 4 days.

46 Vehicle Speed Control problem

The contact owned a 2010 Ford Fusion. While at a complete stop, the vehicle accelerated without warning and caused the contact to crash into a flag pole. A police report was not filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

47 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/18/2015

Driving down the high way and my car lost all accelerating capability and almost caused a serious accident. My car was previously taken in three months ago because it was stalling but I was told by Ford without any check engine light they couldn't do anything. I even did some online research before I went to Ford and suggested the throttle body position sensor and they said it wouldn't cause my car to do that.

48 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2015

I tapped the gas after I stopped at a stop sign & the car revved really high but didn't go anywhere. Then the 2nd time I was on the highway the car revved really high again & again went really slow, like something wasn't catching. I'm glad the highway was empty because I could've caused an accident.

49 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2015

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 70 mph, the accelerator pedal suddenly failed to respond and decelerated to a speed lower than 20 mph with no warning. The contact had to coast the vehicle over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle to reset the computer each time the failure recurred. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

50 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2015

I believe this car is also affected by the electronic throttle body issues plaguing Fords. I was driving the vehicle when it suddenly loses power and the "wrench" light appears. The vehicle lost speed and did not respond to the gas pedal. I was able to pull over and restart the vehicle with temporary resolution of the problem. This has been a gradually worsening problem.

51 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2015

On 04/13/2015 I experienced rapid deceleration while driving home form work on the highway and the wrench light came on the dash. I called the dealership and made an appointment to have the problem looked at on 04/15/2015. While driving home from work on 04/16/2015 the problem happened again so I called the dealership and made another appointment on 04/17/2015. After about an hour they couldn't find any error codes and failed to replicate the issue. They told me to drive the car and hope it doesn't happen again. Since then the problem has occurred on the following dates: 04/18,4/19,4/21. I ordered the part myself and will do the repairs myself since I can't wait until a complete failure happens. That would increase the chances of causing a serious accident.

52 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2015

Driving the car home from the dealership cruising down the highway and suddenly the car just would not accelerate any more. Scary feeling when your cruising at 55 and suddenly the car would not stay at highway speed. It would still idle but it idled roughly. You could push down on the pedal but it would do nothing. It just lost all power so I had to quickly pull onto the shoulder of the road. Good thing no one was following me to close. I called the dealer and they sent out a tow truck. I had to get a ride home and the car went back to the dealer for repairs. Turns out that the throttle body sensor quit working.

53 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2014

I was driving home from work last night and my car shut off. It shook violently and decelerated to a stop. I read online about the 13n09 consumer satisfaction program and since my car is exhibiting the same symptoms I decided to limp into the dealer. It appears that Ford has decided to extend the warranty on these defective throttle body parts but for some reason my 2010 Ford Fusion with a faulty throttle body position sensor is not covered? if it has been determined that the part is defective in the Ford Fusion then shouldn't all of them be covered? I don't feel that I should have to pay for a faulty part that just happens to also be a safety issue. Ford needs to step up and own up to this issue not profit from it.

54 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/17/2014

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, it accelerated without the accelerator pedal being depressed. The vehicle went down an embankment and across four lanes. As a result, the vehicle crashed into a brick wall. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries reported. The vehicle was towed to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 14,000.

55 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2014

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while attempting to accelerate from a stop, the vehicle accelerated excessively without warning. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where the floor mat was replaced but the failure reoccurred twice. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to the floor mat. The contact referenced a manufacturer¿s recall related to the failure. The VIN was unavailable. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

56 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/08/2014

There were two events with the electronic throttle cutting off while driving, though, engine did not stall, requiring reset by turning off the ignition then restarting the car. At the time the throttle cutting off there was a yellow wrench indicator light light on my dash. This mimics NHTSA action number: pe13003, however, this action number does not include my VIN number.

57 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 10/02/2014

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. Afterwards, the throttle body and transmission warning lights illuminated. The contact was on the highway when the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to drive after restarting the vehicle. The dealer was notified, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred multiple times since the first failure. The contact notified another dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 84,000.

58 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/04/2014

While driving on the interstate, the vehicle completely lost power under acceleration. I took it to a Ford dealer and they fixed it free of charge. They said that they are aware of the issue, but have not had time to send out a recall yet.

59 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/28/2014

While driving on the highway at 65 mph, the engine suddenly went into idle and it was not possible to accelerate. I was fortunately able to make my way over to the shoulder without causing an accident before the car came to a shaking halt. This then happened 3 more times as I made my way on local roads to a Ford dealer. Also fortunately, the dealer repaired my car (replaced throttle body and reprogrammed), which was no longer under warranty, free of charge. I don't know why such a potentially life threatening defect has not been the subject of a recall.

60 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2014

Been noticing the car would idle rough from time to time. Was driving home on August 25, 2014 and the wrench light came on, had no acceleration, even put the pedal to the floor board. Pulled off shut car down, and restarted and everything was good. Did notice some more sputtering on the drive home. Took it in August 27, 2014 and dealer stated it was the throttle body sensor. $485. 00 to repair this. I have a 2005 Ford f150 also and stuck $3,700 into it last year. Thinking these will be the last Ford products I will ever own. I have a 2002 Toyota camry with 225,000, only thing I ever replaced, other than regular maintenance items, was the water pump.

61 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle was violently jerking and was extremely difficult to drive. The sensor illuminated for the throttle body on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who diagnosed and replaced the electronic throttle body. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 66,212. Dyd.

The contact was able to steer the vehicle off the road and restarted the engine and the vehicle operated as normal. The contact indicated that during the incident the check engine and service sensor lights had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced a computer but the vehicle continued to experience the same failures. No further information was available. The contact indicated that later while driving approximately 60 mph the speed suddenly decelerated and the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 150,000. Jft.

64 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/19/2014

I was driving on an interstate going 70+ mph when my gas peddle stopped working, it would not make my car accelerate. The rpms dropped down to 1000-1500 and my car immediately started to slow down. I pulled to the side of the road and as I slowed down the car jumped and acted like it was stalling out. The wrench light on the dash also illuminated. I put the car in park and turned off the ignition, thinking that my car was broken down and I was going to have to get it towed. I thought to restart the car and when I did, it ran fine. Until 3 days later when it repeated the same symptoms, 3 times in one day. It has now been a week and I have had countless times where this has happened, many times on the interstate, or busy roads. Just today in a 2 mile stretch this happened 4 times!.

65 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/10/2014

As I pulled out onto a busy street going to work my car would not respond to gas, I had the pedal to the floor with no response other than a weak attempt at a lurch. I had to pull over (partially off of the road) into a neighbor's yard to avoid being hit by a large transport truck coming up on me rapidly. I pushed it into a "turned around" position and between pushing an the lurching got back home. The road I was on was too narrow and too busy to just leave it. I have a history of back surgery and this did not help!!!! after I got it to the hill near my home I coasted in still with no response to the gas. There was an orange light on with a wrench picture. I looked this up online and found numerous sites with others having the same problem with no help from Ford! some were actually rear-ended on the interstates so I was fortunate in that aspect! (so far!) there is no recall on this issue and it seems that Ford cannot diagnose it unless the light is currently on! the code erases once the engine is turned off and restarted so they "cannot" diagnose it and therefore send us back out in the defective vehicle. There is no warning that this is about to happen and there is no way to "move fast" enough to get out of the way of traffic. This could be fatal in fast moving thick traffic with larger vehicles coming up from behind at speed limits of 70 mph. The car will not move when it does this and rpms do not go above 1000rpm. Are recalls only done when someone dies? if so, I need to trade this car in ASAP!.

66 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2014

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle accelerated and jerked with out warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000. Ss.

67 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2014

Myself and two passengers (including 10 month old) were riding northbound on the interstate at approximately 65 mph. Our 2010 Ford Fusion suddenly went into safe mode (aka "limp home mode") where the car continues to have power (steering, brakes, hvac systems) but it does not respond to pressing on the accelerator. We were traveling along at ~3-5mph with other traffic still traveling full speed. Extremely dangerous situation in an extremely dangerous vehicle. A Ford dealer had just performed recall 13b17 on the vehicle, which recalibrated the powertrain. Unfortunately they did not install a new throttle body, which is covered on this vehicle in satisfaction program 13n03.

68 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2014

When our vehicle a 10'Ford Fusion sel sedan started this the vehicle would start to shake and die when the speed would exceed forty mph then after a couple days of not bein able to drive over forty mph the vehicle would not go at all it would start and jerk and die to the point that the vehicle could not be driven.

69 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2014

While driving my vehicle it suddenly felt like it stalled, but it actually had not. Before I could safely pull off the road it began violently jerking the whole car. Gas and brake controls were effected and the car was difficult to get off the road safely and difficult to stop it from moving forward once I got off the road. I quickly put it in park and turned it off. The check engine light came on as well as a wrench light during this incident. After about 5 minutes I turned the car back on and it seemed to be running fine. I started to drive to the body shop I use and after a couple minutes it did it again in the middle of an intersection. The car was extremely difficult to control and I was scared I would be hit by another car. After making it off the road again, I turned the car off. I eventually did get it to my body shop, but the defective throttle body could have resulted in a serious accident. Ford should recall this part and fix it!.

70 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2014

I am a California highway patrol officer. I depend on Ford vehicles. My life, literally depends upon it. That being said, I will never own a Ford vehicle again. I own a 2010 Ford Fusion with 93,xxx miles on the odometer. As I was traveling to work, my Fusion lost all power, and forced me to the right side shoulder of the highway. This action nearly resulted in a major injury, rear end collision. All this occurred during the hours of darkness, on a major highway, in the greater san francisco bay area. How this problem has not yet required immediate attention by the Ford motor company // u. S government, is beyond belief. I purchased a replacement throttle body from an outside retailer, (not a Ford factor part) installed it in my garage, and have had no issues as of this posting. How the Ford motor company can justify $400 to $500 dollars to replace this problem part, is beyond my understanding. How is this not yet a government recall?? I may be forced to drive Ford vehicles in order to do my job, but to reiterate, my family will never again purchase a Ford vehicle. Every cloud has a silver lining. I am grateful my Fusion shut down rather than accelerate. I guess the Ford motor company must have learned something from the Toyota motor company. Now it just takes the useless government morons to force Ford motor company to admit to, and fix this obvious problem.
