The check brakes warning message appear on the instrument panel during the failure. As the contact attempted to pull over to the side road, extra steering effort was needed to steer the vehicle. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer where they informed him that his abs module needed to be replaced; however, the part was on backorder. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and confirmed that parts were on back order. He was also notified that there were no recalls on the vehicle and was referred to the NHTSA for assistance.
