Tl the contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, without warning the vehicle in front slammed on there brake which caused the contact to slam on his brake pedal however, the brake pedal failed to engage properly, extending the braking distance. The contact steered the vehicle to the right to prevent crashing into the vehicle in front. The vehicle was taken to hinder Ford, inc (505 s philadelphia blvd, aberdeen, MD 21001) where it was diagnosed and it was determined that the anti-lock brakes module was defective and needed to be replaced. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) as a possible solution to the failure however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000. The VIN was not available.
