2 Engine Stall problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 03/02/2020

I purchased my 2013 Ford Fusion from family auto of berea. My total purchase price was over $13,000 which I agreed to pay in weekly installments of $115. The engine had approximately 130,000 miles on it. I decided on the Ford Fusion based on years of watching my father and grandparents repeatedly buy Ford vehicles. Some brand new, some used. They all gave positive feedback concerning their vehicles. They highly recommended that I purchase a Ford as well. I trusted them and I trusted Ford. After all, Ford had been making quality vehicles since the production of the t model in 1908. I was driving my 2013 Ford Fusion traveling on 385 south in greenville, SC. I was going approximately 60 miles an hour in the far left lane with my 6 year old, son and 8 year old, daughter in the back seat. Without warning, my engine stalled. I was unable to maintain my speed or accelerate. I proceeded to use my right turn signal to try to get to the emergency lane. Cars were flying by us switching lanes to Dodge us. At any moment, another vehicle couldve collided with my vehicle and would have likely ended with a fatality. I managed to make it safely to tge emergency lane where I called roadside assistance and had my car towed to my home. I notified family auto of berea and they arranged for an inspection of my vehicle which ultimately revealed that my engine needed replacement. The total amount for the replacement would have totaled over $2500 out of pocket but I had purchased an extended warranty with the dealership. I missed 4 days of work due to them having to replace the engine in addition to fearing for my children's safety bc your vehicle didn't hold up yo the standards and quality I thought Ford was known for.

4 Engine Stall problem of the 2015 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/25/2019

After refueling the vehicle is difficult to start, pumping the accelerator helps but the engine will stall suddenly within a few miles of the fill up. On two occasions I have lost power when driving on a major street with 1/4-1/2 tank of fuel. This stall is preceeded by a loud, disonate noise from the fuel filler. There is www information regarding failed purge valves, but most information is for earlier models. The focus recall seems identical. This is obviously a safety issue and I have taken the caution to stay off the road after fueling till the engine is running smoothly. Codes checked with only one reading coming up -a year ago.

5 Engine Stall problem of the 2015 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 12/30/2018

Engine sputters, loses powers, and stalls. This appears to happen after the car sits for a period of time around 20-60 minutes after having been driven and then is once again started and driven again. After being placed in gear and driven a very short distance (5-10 second low speed time wise) the engine will begin to exhibit the stalling symptoms of low rpm and hesitation and all associated systems will begin to malfunctions, I. E. Headlights will flicker, brakes will lose power, accelerator will no longer function even if depressed 100% as car is drive by wire. This is an extreme safety concern. The vehicle losing power and not having all control systems functioning at 100% (throttle, braking, steering) on roadways and in parking lots places the driver, other drivers, and especially pedestrians at risk of injury and death as the vehicle unexpectedly loses power and others are not expecting the vehicle to act in such a manner and may not react accordingly. A pedestrian may not react properly to a car that lacks its normal stopping power, another vehicle may not stop for a car that is not accelerating as it was and is expected, etc. I was approached randomly at a gas station by another owner of a similar Ford Fusion describing the same symptoms asking if my car did this and explained to her that based on my research she's not alone and many other owners experience this same problem. Many dealers appear to be able unable to diagnose/resolve the issue, and my 2 attempts to contact a dealer to obtain service for the problem have resulted in the dealership not responding to the online service request form. I have had at least 4 stalling events now and am unable to obtain warranty services as dealerships have not responded to my maintenance requests. I have footage saved of the headlights flickering and vehicle stalling in a parking lot at low speed.

The engine stalled couple times under low speed in the parking lot. Happens each time after engines starts for 5 to 10 min. Stalls only under low speed. Have no recalls. Saw forums online that many people complaining about this issue when the vehicle hits around 5 years. One of them even got t boned in the parking lot. Went to dealership to troubleshoot many times. As it turns out, like all the people in online forum, the low fuel pressure sensor was faulty. Causing the engine computer to shut off the engine. 9 Engine Stall problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 10/02/2018

I noticed today there is a Ford recall for 2012 through 2018 Ford focus for a faulty part that could lead to engine stalls. The recall states a malfunctioning valve that could result in inaccurate fuel level readings and potentially engine stalls or an inability to restart the vehicle. This is exactly what I have been experiencing in my 2010 Ford Fusion. While I am driving and start to slow down at a stop sign or to turn the corner the engine stalls and jerks and then it goes away until the next time I slow down or turn. I believe this to be the same situation as the current recall for the Ford focus. Driver side door can't lock.

12 Engine Stall problem of the 2014 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/04/2018

My car is stalling after it is driven for 15-20 mins. Once the car is turned off, if it is started within the next hour, it always stalls out. I see that Ford Fusion had a similar issue that was recalled. This is the note that I saw online for the Ford focus recall, "Ford is recalling nearly 1. 3 million focus compact cars in the u. S. Because a fuel system problem can cause the engines to stall without warning. The recall covers cars from 2012 through 2018 with 2-liter four-cylinder engines. " I have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they keep diagnosing it as a bad fuel sensors that need to be replaced. Well, I've replaced them already and the same problem keeps happening. I cannot afford to keep paying the dealer for something that I believe is an issue that they should be taking care of since their other vehicles were having the same issue.

It has happened twice at low speed ~35 mph and once at high speed ~70 mph. We have had it in the Ford dealer twice. The first time they said there was no code so they couldn't do anything. The engine stalls were approximately 20-25 times over 4-5 months. The ignition button, intermittently, doesn't start the car the first time and has to be pushed twice before the engine starts. The fuel light gauge intermittently lights up between 1/4 or 1/8 of a tank, otherwise it lights up when the line is basically at the bottom. Intermittently the sunroof doesn't open or close properly. Sometimes it remains open while at the same time, the interior headliner is actually closed.
