At 138825 miles, the engine began to have a misfire on cylinder #4, which was initially a vacuum hose leak. Then, the car starts having an ?earthquake? whenever the car is stopped at a red light. The cause would then be an egr malfunction. As time went by, the misfire on cylinder 4 shows up again. Took my car to the shop to have the issue looked at, found to be a cross threaded spark plug, and they recommended the cylinder head be replaced, the engine assembly replaced, the coolant being replaced, and the ac being recharged. Repair would?ve cost $10,500.

While driving on a freeway, my 2014 Ford Fusion 2. 0l ecoboost starts to overheat. While trying to press the gas pedal to increase the speed, the car takes a while to increase the speed and at the same time the temparature gauge is going up as well until I get the overheating notification on my car. I had to slow down my driving on the freeway while there were cars behind me. I had to get out of the freeway and exited on the first exit I see. I stopped on a curb of a street and opened the hood of the car to check what is wrong with it and I saw that there are coolant all over my engine and that my coolant level was empty even though I filled it up about 2 weeks ago. I had to refill my coolant a little bit more than the max level. I tried my best to drive back home carefully and just took the streets. I check the coolant level about 4-5 miles later and noticed that the coolant level went down a about 1/4 of an inch below the max level. The overheating started to happen when the temperature started to rise up over 100 degrees but it was the first time today(08/25/2020) that it splattered coolant all over my engine. There was also no check engine light on.

With absolutely no previous issues, the car started overheating while driving on the highway. I was able to make it home after turning on the heat (on a 90 degree day) and riding it out. It turned out my car was out of coolant, which was odd. We filled it and my check engine light came on, then my car sat for about a week, the battery was dead and when it was jumped every warning came up on my dash and my engine was in limp mode. Turns out my cylinder cracked and coolant was flooding my engine. After some research, it turns out it's a common problem with the model's engine and Ford hasn't done anything to remedy it.
8/15/2019 my son took my car to auto clinic of boca raton inc. =computer diagnostic scan, no charge=replaced cylinder to ignition coil-total was $90. 95(12month or 12,000miles lim. Warty. ). On 10/24/2019 my son took my car to the grayco Ford of delray beach for recalls. Engine light was back on,they wanted $to find out y the light was on. So my son left &on his next day off he took the car back to the auto clinic again. They did a diagnostic scan=free&this time=replaced cyls. 1,3&4 ignition/coils= $272. 85 this time mileage in & out was 53,473. My son mileage in for my car at grayco Ford of delray beach was 54,824 on 10/24/19. Motor was under warranty up until 60,000 miles. So I don't understand why they wouldn't of looked at that check engine light or the motor of my car for my son who was away at college in florida for 3yrs. I bought that car in order for him to go to florida and work and go to school lynn university to get his masters degree at 23 years old. I thought I bought a safe vehicle for his travels. My son got his normal oil change of every 3 months on 4/15/20@1:03pm. Engine light on after he left so he took it to the auto clinic again @2:05 they replaced spark plugs for $58. 44 mileage in 58,325 in and out. He moved home to OH the check engine light on again! I took it to classic, mentor OH they tell me my Ford engine has a problem something warps inside a chamber and lets coolant go into the motor! they want $5200 to fix it. I called Ford&it's 2000 miles out warranty. They said cant/won't help w/ this well-known problem for 2013-2019 Fusions! I talkd to the grayco Ford of delray, very rude (david aliva) & boss very rude as well. I got a rude email, that they will not help me! even though the check engine light was on and it was under 60,000 miles! car sitting at mentor classic(since 08/20)they tell me it is a fire hazard to drive! I don't know what to do!.

I have taken great care of my car and had it serviced regularly. All of a sudden it started having startup issues with white smoke coming from the exhaust and check engine lights indicating misfire on third cylinder and random misfires on startup. Shortly after these symptoms presented, the car rapidly overheated while in motion and left me stranded on the side of the road. I took it to two shops and both confirmed it is related to a known issue with my engine (1. 5 ecoboost) for which Ford has released multiple corrections in the form of tsbs, fsas, and csps. The design of the short block and the engine programming have caused the coolant to prematurely degrade the head gasket which leads to coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders. In my specific case, the issue has presented in cylinder 3. I was never notified of this issue by the dealer Ford of port richey or the manufacturer and it will not be covered under warranty despite the cause of the issue originating at the manufacturer from the design of the short block coolant passages and the original programming of the engine. This should be handled as a recall considering it is unsafe to drive a vehicle that is specifically designed to spontaneously overheat under normal operating conditions, leaving a driver and their two children stranded on the side of the road.
I was driving out of a store and all of a sudden the vehicle had the battery engine come out and other weird verbiage ive never seen. All of a sudden my vehicle just stop , brakes became too stiff to turn back the vehicle as you are suppose to press the brake and push the start button. I wait with my 9 year old daughter on a busy street and it was over 100 degree weather. We waited mayb 10mins and the brake became someone manageable to push and the vehicle started as soon as it did start smoke started coming out from the hood drove to a near by business and had to wait over w hours for a tow truck. This is such a safety hazard as a mother you want the vehicle you drive to be as safe as possible but for a brand new vehicle only a year old to stall out the way it did is so scary because I could've been hit and you not only worry about your safety but your child's safety.
Car stalls while driving and everytime I do a complete stop, I've been looking online for a solution to fix my car and it looks like a lot of people has the same issue and nobody has a exact solution to the problem I already replaced the throttle body and egr valve but it still stalling.

The car was brought into dealer for overheating 3 times and twice for coils and spark plugs repair. Upon buying the vehicle complained of care not staying in gear. The problem they claimed was fixed, but several months again issue cam again. At that time it was repaired under recall. The car has had several warranty repairs. One of the fans went out on the car. Reported at 11 mph car was heated at 289 degrees. Car was in park when it proceeded to still move forward in the parking lot. Emergency breaks had to be applied and the care went into safety mode and was not driveable. This has occurred twice within two years.

Car was attempting to park when this happened: 2013-16 model year Ford Fusion and 2013-14 Ford escape vehicles to replace shifter cable bushings. On affected vehicles, the bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may detach from the transmission. A degraded shifter cable bushing that detaches from the transmission may allow the transmission to be in a gear state different than the gear shift position selected by the driver. The condition could allow the driver to move the shift lever to park and remove the ignition key, while the transmission may not be in park, with no warning message or audible chime. If the parking brake is not applied, a degraded shifter cable bushing that detaches from the transmission could result in unintended vehicle movement, increasing the risk of injury or crash. Contacted Ford dealership with VIN and was tols VIN # does not match recall even though recall was made in the fourth year of ownership July 2018 and recall matches my vehicle Ford Fusion 2014 year make and model unable to contact Ford 800 numbee due to weekend business hours please review assist and offer remedy. Recall number is #18s20 thanks.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the structural integrity of the vehicle was flawed because the idler pulley bolt fractured internally and caused the vehicle to seize. Also, the battery indicator illuminated and the steering wheel was extremely difficult to turn. When the failure occurred, the vehicle had to be coasted off the road and towed to a repair facility. The mechanic replaced the idler pulley four times and the tension pulley also had to be replaced. The independent mechanic diagnosed that the bolt frayed at the end several times. The dealer was not contacted. The same oem parts were replaced; however, the manufacturer indicated that there was no recall remedy to provide a solution. The pulley well was not functioning concerning the belt and the vehicle remained parked at the contact's residence. The failure mileage was not available.

Wrench light came on beginning of July as I was traveling interstate in heat ((98 degrees) . Weeks later the engine light appears along wit the wrench light. I noticed a smell but thought nothing of it since it was so hot outside. The torque converter was bad and replaced by Ford (transmission pulled) but also the mechanic noticed leaking of coolant and I had to replace coolant flange, the g-adaptor-water outlet connect, coolant outlet pipe and of course, antifreeze. Most Fusions recalled but not mine according to Ford customer service, I have a 1. 5 l engine built is flat rock assembly as others were. I was told by them to hold onto the bill. Really?.
I drove from my house to the highway which is about 3. 8 miles. I got on the highway and after a about a minute or two, I started hearing a weird faint noise. I looked around thinking it was maybe a car near me, and I saw smoke starting to come out from under the hood. Thankfully the rest stop was less than hale a mile away. I got to the rest stop, parked the car and smoke started to come out from the under the dashboard. I had just filled the car with gas the night before, so I made sure to keep my distance while waiting for the fire department to arrive. The front of the car quickly went up in flames. The fire department arrived and put the fire out before the whole car disintegrated. There was no check engine light, no warning signs at all. I had taken the car to Ford last October for a recall, which I thought was taken cared of. I had called Ford, but they state the recall would not cause an engine fire, so they will not own up to it. I have always maintained my car, so there's no reason that I can think of that would make this happen. Please help me, I know in my heart that this is something Ford should take responsibility for. This could happen to someone else, who may end up getting injured severely from it. Let's prevent this from happening.
In moderate temperatures, ~40-60 degrees f, the engine will stall just after starting to drive. So in the spring and the fall. It does not occur in the winter or the summer. It usually occurs after the car has been warmed up and driven and then turned off for a while. For instance, if I drive out to lunch, stop and eat, and then start driving again. Just after I start moving, say 100 ft. , the engine starts running rough and nothing I do will stop it from dying. Usually it starts right up and and then it never happens again that drive cycle. Only once has it occurred twice in a row. No "check engine light" or codes. Had it checked by a mechanic. They changed the fuel pressure regulator, but it did not fix the issue. Started occurring in the spring of 2018.
2014 Ford Fusion titanium 2. 0 turbo 5/29/16 coming off freeway @ 70mph went to apply brakes and pedal was hard , unable to slow down on loop. I could have crashed and died due to this failure. Finally pushed pedal with a lot of effort and abs kicked in to slow me down before the stop sign. Took to dealer on 5/30/16, diagnosis was vacuum pump failure, new part was ordered. 7/5/16 got a call from dealer shop manager who basically said the part would not be covered under warranty because there were metal shavings in the motor behind where the pump sits, claiming dirty oil caused premature engine wear. I went to the dealership to view what he was talking about. I could tell by spinning the pump that the bearings had failed, more than likely disintegrated and the shavings were sitting inside my engine. The manager asked the mechanic if that were possible and he replied yes. He said he replaced 3 recently with the same issue metal shavings behind pump. My car was also in for an oil change. The most irritating thing was being blamed for the problem, he stated my engine will fail and I should trade it in while I was talking on the phone with him prior to going to the dealership. I was blamed and he used scare tactics to try and get me to make a purchase. Never had this happen at a Ford dealer before. Still waiting for the call saying my car is repaired. The manger agreed to replace the pump under warranty.
Numerous problems with this car but most recently and the most concerning is the frequent stalling at random times . The car will just go dead . Sometimes a warning in display says run active power, sometimes the check engine light comes on . When it stalls randomly it loses power and bucks a little then stalls . When driving on highway there is a terrible vibration coming from front of the car as the stalling problem gets worse it also goes into "limp mode" on highway . The car has been serviced for many weird problems such as when I was in fla in Dec and the heat came on full blast and temperature gauge said it was minus 21 degree's . It had problem with wipers , turn signals and headlights not working. I can't count how many modules have been replaced. I live in the mountains and it is very scary to be driving and not know when your car will stall . The car is at dealer yet again and it was very unsettling to discover that the dealership didn't think it was a big deal that your nearly new vehicle is stalling frequently . Which made my gut say there could be some sort of cover up. Because you literally can not trust anyone any more . I could see a class action lawsuit in the making. But while government stalls and stalls people are being killed in these cars . I have on video my car stalling . I told my family if I die in a crash today check my phone for the video's of car stalling and sue the hell out of Ford!!!.
Yellow wrench light keep coming on while driving only down the highway at 65 to 70 mph, it also intermittent therefore the dealer cannot ever find problem codes. The codes erase when you turn off the car. I lose half of engine power and no other controls work such as cruise control and manual shifting paddle shifting. I was also told that it was my : "pcm" that is giving me the trouble. Also the electric fan is running at full speed blowing out cold air, plus the smell of burning plastic. Also when the car is started and running for about 7 to 10 minutes, I turn on the heater at 73 degrees and it is warm. Then after turning on the heater and now leaving for work, I accelerate to get onto the freeway and soon noticed that the heater is now blowing cold air and I then turn the heater up higher to 77 then the same warmth come out then that goes away til I turn the heater way up to 83 degrees. This has never happened before, I had the coolant and oil replaced and it is still doing the same thing. I get two warnings showing the yellow wrench, "power reduced to cool down engine" and "engine overheat" the sunnyvale Ford dealer charged me $200. 00 dollars to see what was wrong with my car and said they have found nothing. But this problem only happens on the freeway driving at 65 to 75 mph. Our freeways speed limits are high on interstates 5. I do see older Ford tempo's going 80 mph and passing me while I cannot go faster to get out of the way of others. Quite insulting to me while I spend out of pocket and Ford says nothing and I get back a broken car that works sometimes. The extended warranties I pay for does not cover anything so I'm paying for a car that is soon to fail and leave me stranded at the same time I have to pay for it. Ford continue to say my car is running well and returning it back to me with problems unfixed.

On 10/5/2013, I had to call roadside rescue to jump start car. I took vehicle to advance auto on 10/6/2013 to test battery. The printout results found, indicator light was yellow, cold cranking amps 500 on battery, temperature was to high at 124degrees. On 10/7/2013, call roadside resue to jumpstart vehicle. I let the vehicle idle for a bit, hoping to recharge the battery back to full function. On 10/8/2013 called roadside resue to jumpstart vehicle for the 3rd time and then drove to Ford dealership. With great hesitation, Ford replaced the battery. I had to tell the technician to look at the battery's yellow light.

Driving in far left lane at highway speed. The car had been on for about 10 minutes after sitting in parking lot all day. It was 96 degrees. Car started to vibrate and slow down. I noticed that the tool light was on. Obviously I had entered into limp mode and found a way to cross four lanes of rush hour traffic to make it to the emergency lane. Once stopped engine loped erratically and would not accelerate. Engine was non-responsive to pedal changes. Put car in park and shut the engine off. I waited 30 seconds and started the car again and drove home (26 miles) without further incident. It should be noted that I have experienced surging in the engine this past week. Symptoms point to the throttle body; but this is speculation as I have not had the car diagnosed by a professional. I am aware that there is a current investigation into this matter. This event happened at highway speeds and could have been disastrous. Driving can be inherently dangerous and parts do break; but, the fact that this has been a known issue for quite some time warrants an additional report.
Driving along and vehicle lost power. Pulled over and turned of vehicle. Waited 1 minute and started vehicle up and was able to drive again. This has occurred at least 15 times since the first time and most of them occurred while I was driving on the interstate. Always had to pull to the side and shut the vehicle off, wait a minute and start the vehicle back up and can continue on. No pattern except outside temperature was above 80 degrees.
On my way to work in the morning on a back country road, I went around a 90 degree turn, braking before going into the turn. On the way out of the turn, the engine stalled as I was trying to accelerate. I came to a stop, put the vehicle in park, and then it restarted with not problem, but shocked me a bit.
Driving to work, our 2010 Ford Fusion sputtered and stalled. After restarting, the car continued to sputter and we brought it into the nearest Ford dealership. We were informed that the throttle body had degraded and needed to be replaced. The vehicle has been serviced at Ford dealerships regularly and on-time. We replaced the battery last month. Our problem appears to reflect the NHTSA's ongoing investigation of Ford electronic throttle body failures. . Read more...
While I was driving on a county highway at almost 60mph the car shook/shuttered, then a wrench warning light appeared and I pulled onto the shoulder of the road because it felt like the car was losing power. I had just gotten off of the highway and it stalled. I called my husband to come and because it was dark and only 20 degrees outside I started the car again about 15 minutes later. It started right up but we had it towed to a mechanic anyway and they found nothing wrong with it. Because I was scared to drive it after this I took it to a Ford dealer (ewald in hartford, WI) to have it checked over. They could not find anything wrong with it. Then this same scenario occurred again about 3-1/2 weeks later at 5:15am on my way to work. This time I was just pulling away from a stop sign and barely going 20mph. It did the same thing with shaking, the wrench light coming on and the car stalling. There was no shoulder where I was so I didn't want to wait for a tow truck or help. I started it back up and took it back home where it sat in the garage for 1-1/2 days until I could get it to a dealership. Ewald Ford looked at it for me again but they said they could not find any issues. They told me not to start it again if it happens or the codes will clear out so I will need to have it towed or put a portable code reader on it to see if I can get something for them. I just saw an article in our milwaukee paper stating that you are investigating these issues and I wanted to let you know that I've had the same problems. Please help to force a recall before someone gets killed. Thank you!!.
When traveling at about 35 mph with a Ford Fusion se, v6 and automatic transmission, the engine stalls on hard braking, requiring the vehicle to be brought to a complete stop in the middle of traffic, shifted to park and restarted. Since I was making a lane change before I realized that the engine had stalled, I was across both lanes while I was in park starting the engine. This could have lead to accident, either by not having power to maneuver or another car could have hit my vehicle while it blocked both lanes. The air temperature was just below 10 degrees, but the engine was warm. On restart, the engine idled at 1500 rpm, which makes stopping the vehicle difficult since the engine fights the brakes.
