The failure mileage was approximately 71,063. Aw.

Car wouldn't accelerate. Would stall after pumping gas would overheat when idling. Fans were not turning on canister purge valve stuck open causing the fuel tank and oxygen sensor to fail. . Runs rough.

Transmission is slipping really bad. It stalls while driving and trying to accelerate. It also shifts out really rough. The electrical system stays on even when the car is off I've already replaced refurbished transmission and the wheel bearing. I feel very unsafe and don't allow my kids to ride in car for not knowing what could happen. Even while car is idling there a loud knock.

Car began losing power uphill, and even pushing the gas pedal to the floor did not help. High pressure fuel pump was replaced at a Ford dealership, but the problem continued, and got worse. Eventually had to be towed to another dealership, where they fixed the problem enough to get home, although hills remained an issue (cruise control was set to 70, and even the smallest hill would cause the car to slow to around 40-45 mph). Car currently is sitting in my driveway because I am afraid to drive it. It might stall out in traffic.

I had to have vehicle towed to my house looked up issues it said it may be transmission so then I had the vehicle towed to a independent mechanic business and was informed to take the vehicle to a Ford dealer that there were 2 recalls associated with my vehicle the recalls were through the NHTSA vehicle safety reports. (power train) and (torque converter). However my vehicle was the 1. 5 version and was having the exact same problems as the 2. 1 version being covered through the vehicle recalls. Since my VIN was not included I did not have it repaired. They included both issues in the quote was over 6000 dollars but less if one of the problem. This was in June/2020 and the car had 97 k miles on it.

My car idles roughly, and has stalled while driving. It has no outstanding recalls, and still happened. I purchased my Ford while it was still under the warranty. I took it to a dealer because I was losing power while driving in a certain gear at a certain rpm after the engine was running for about 30 minutes. I was told it was a wiring issue which I had the dealer fix. By this time I was close to the warranty being up. It didnt fix the issue. The vehicle loses power intermittently or stutters. I get p0352 codes. I have been dealing with it because it is intermittent but recently the wiring harness melted on an ignition coil. I have replaced the ignition coils, the pig tail, the spark plugs, changed transmission fluid, rechecked all the cables, and once the dealer reprogrammed the pcm. It has to be the transmission but because it is intermittent the dealer cant find anything wrong. I actually lost power once at low speeds after the transmission slipped and dinged a poll causing a dent in my car. Thankfully I only lost power once on the high way and no one hit me. Since I am out of warranty I am forced to find the cause and fix it myself. I do not have 4 grand for a new transmission install. My research shows that Ford has three issues with my year. 1. Ignition coils over heating due to bad pcms or programming 2. Transmission bubbles or tears forming in the rings 3. Cable controls on the transmissions. I am out of options and dont know what to do so I figure I would warn off others. Dont by a Ford with the 6f35 transmission unless it is a later year. I hear the 2019 has it fixed and I wish I could have one of those but the best I can do is warn others. I am stuck. 2 years of my life wasted.

I drive a 2016 Ford Fusion se awd with the 2. 0l ecoboost/gtdi motor. I was at a gas station refueling my vehicle, with the 87 octane fuel the oem calls for on the vehicle. I was about 1/4 tank before refueling and I filled my tank until full. Upon starting my car, I always turn the key right before ignition and wait for the fuel pumps to draw gas to the motor, then start it. Started seemingly fine, however, while I was resetting my mileage trip counters, I noticed, and felt my rpm's drop down into the 300-400 area and my motor shook my car. I kind of was surprised as my car had never done this, so I figured maybe it was just an engine stutter. But then upon waiting a few more seconds, it did it again, 4 more times and felt like my motor was ready to stall out. I was still parked/stationary beside a gas pump so I put the car in drive to go park myself in an actual spot so I wasn't in the way of other vehicles. I kept my car running in park to see if the rpm's would drop again, but upon waiting five minutes, it did not. The rpm's were a bit wobbly though on the tachometer but did not significantly drop. No lights on the dash came on. I wasn't taking any chances, I immediately called the dealership to have my car serviced. Turns out, my canister purge valve was stuck in the open position. Sounds all too familiar, accounting that Ford issued a recall for the exact same issue with many Ford focus models, with the exact same motor. This is a serious issue that can result in crash/injury or even death. No light came on for me and I only caught it because I was superstitious enough to bring it in regardless. This should be investigated, it is literally the same issue and I'm baffled as to how his hasn't been made into a recall by now. I know I'm not the only one who has faced this issue, so please, I ask for this to be investigated and deemed a recall as it's a big issue.

Started car, got dashboard light on 7. 6. 19 mileage 27721. Car running rough, about to stall,etc. Error code p0302. Cyl. #2 ignition coil replaced. Then, 2 weeks later got dashboard light again, same code p0302. Mechanic (private)replaced perceived faulty ignition coil as previous. On 9. 23 . 19 car started,. Car runs rough, almost stalls dashboard lights again. This time we take it to royal oak Ford service dept. They get p0302 and advise us to change spark plugs. $307. 29 charge. Upon inspection of spark plugs I note all plugs are heavily coated in carbon. I check the tailpipe and the inside is also heavily carbon coated. Shortly after I find information that most direct inject engines have this problem. It was not hard info to find. Because of direct injection the valves do not receive the benefit of detergent gasolines and become heavily coated in carbon. This is an oversimplified explanation of what is occurring. , but makes the point. I confirm findings with and show plugs to, my mechanic who confirms ;that these direct inject engines have an issue the manufacturers can't or haven't corrected, which results in the condition my spark plugs were found in. I found notsb's on the subject. Mechanic recommends a gdi service, which includes pulling all valves and cleaning them. He also recommends anyone with a di engine to do this at least once a year to keep vehicle running smoothly and to get maximum life out of the plugs. By the way, first service interval for plugs on this car is 100,000 miles. This is the experience I've been exposed to so far, but do know that it can get much worse (affecting other parts of the engine) fwiw the mechanic believes the manufacturers (in this case Ford) are well aware of these issues with direct inject designed engines. Ive owned my car only 3 months and it has went from working to now sitting at mechanics garage the first issue was the 2 recalls I was not able to get fixed due to my car stalling on me after I put gas in the car ,it takes 7 cranks to get the car going,I was told that is e-vap issue ,then the next was when I tried to crank my car im now told that the car is loosing compression and if I had driven it own the road that could have caused my death I then had it taken to a shop where it now sits and I am told it could cost me thousands of dollars to fix I personally think this should be investigated ,im on a fixed income and handicapped I purchased this car with my life savings please help.

The car stalls and shifts gears after stopping at a red light or stop sign then after moments of pressing the gas pedal it spins off and jerks really hard on a freeway it rides very well it only stalls after waiting at a light or stop sign or tapping onto the break also the car has new break pads but it sounds like something is scrubbing and while I was backing out of a parking lot the car made a huge popping and threw me back while my foot was on the break it scared me so I got out to see what happened and I didn't hit anything nor did anything hit me so I tried to drive home and the car jerked the entire way home almost.

2016 Ford Fusion ES stalls out during driving does not matter if vehicle is stationary or in motion stalls have occurred in parking lots highways and roads this problem occurs at random times you must stop vehicle put in park and restart.

The problem began in February 2019 when the described car began to stall while in drive, reverse and/or park. Car shakes violently and then dies stating �press brake to start�. After the car is put in park, turned off and back on, car resumes normal function. After first taking in the car, the turbocharger was found to be the culprit. After getting a very expensive repair done, the problem returned shortly after. Traveling across the country, the problem happened again. After returning home and having more work done, the problem continued to happen. When on city roads, in the driveway or parking lots, the stalling continued. In only nine months, the new spark plugs needed to be replaced and two engine coils had failed. Then after this work was completed, the problem continued but no engine light had come on. Then in December 2019 the car was taken to a Ford dealership in kansas to be diagnosed. After claiming the transmission needed work or even worse possible replacement, I was faced with the question of whether or not to keep the car. After the car was finished at the dealership with no repair done other than a recall, the engine light came on and the problem became worse: more frequent and more intense shaking. After multiple calls made to the dealership to inquire about after market warranty coverage on the repair, the dealership has not called back.

Vehicle occasionally idles rough and stalls while driving down the road. Restarts fine, sometimes not doing it again for days and sometimes doing the same thing multiple times on the same trip. Usually occurs under 40 mph, and is really becoming a safety concern for me and my family. 28,000 miles on the odometer.

After driving some distance (20-30 minutes, 15-20 miles) and stopping for a short break (5-10 minutes) to grocery shop, get take-out, etc. Starting the car up again and going - it stalls. Power stays on, but engine fluctuates rpm in a lunging fashion before puttering out. Car can restart with strain on the starter but will do the same thing again even if left idling in park after 1-2 minutes. Remedy I have found is to crank it, let the engine settle for 5 seconds, put in gear, let settle again, then gain rpms fairly quickly with a heavy acceleration. Once it shifts gears the first time it seems to behave.
