The car shuts off while driving under the speed of 20 mph. It has happened 6 times in the last 2 months. The worse part was it happened on the interstate in the rain and I had to pull over quickly on to the ramp while an 18 wheeler was coming my way.

I've had my car for 5 years. 6 months after I purchased it it started showing transmission issues. It's almost like it gets stuck in a gear when trying to accelerate , and then it flings your forward. When driving up a hill it won't go over 30mph. I took it in over 2 years ago to Ford and was told a transmission recall for 2014 Ford Fusions was coming. 2 years later and I'm being told my car doesn't qualify but is showing all the signs that's listed on the recall. Just last week my car shut off while driving on the freeway with my kids in the car. Since it's happened 3 times. Since it started shutting off while driving a new issue has progressed. My car now jerks when trying to accelerate. If I have the heater in it smells like something is burning. We used a code reader and it told us transmission issues but Ford still says I don't qualify.

I was driving about 10 mins away from my house, in the city as I approached a red light my car shut off. It stopped while I was in motion , I couldn't brake, theres was nothing could do but just let the car stop on its own. The battery light started to flash, the wrench light came on. I turned the car off, then back on, and it didnt start. So I tried again, and the car started, I was ale to make it home safe. But this is a hazard, I had children in the car, I will like this car to be recalled. I saw in 2017 in July about five thousands 2017 Fords were recalled for this reason. Im scared and dont know what to do!.
So when I'm driving down the road it will start doing weird stuff . . Like jerking and applying the breaks and then the car just shuts off and then it take about a couple mins for it to come back on so I think this is a danger & safety hazard.

This is the 4th time this issue has occurred. While driving, my ac kicks on with no warning and I loose all power to my car. It shuts down. This is extremely dangerous and I see several people complain about it and nothing has been done at this time. No resolution can be found for the problem. My car shuts off on its own and the only warning I get is knowing when my radio cuts out and my ac kicks on, get to the breakdown lane because my car is shutting down. 75 mph on the busy highway.
My car's engine shuts off after accelerating with no warning. It does not happen after a cold start. It only happens after a warm start. No engine lights come on during the process and my car remains in motion but can't accelerate. The engine starts to shake vigorously as though it loses 1 or 2 cylinders. Then it shuts off. I need to shut off the car and turn it back on to get it going, but it becomes dangerous when on the road. This issue only happens after a second startup of the vehicle. After restarting the vehicle after the second failed drive, everything works correctly again. All electrical systems keep working when the engine shuts off. This has happened on 4 different occasions.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving 65 mph on the highway, the engine shut off. The contact was able to glide the vehicle to the side of the road and activated the hazard lights. When the contact removed and re-attached the battery cable, the vehicle was finally able to restart. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle had too many miles to cover the repairs by warranty and there were no recalls. The dealer had not been contacted. The contact felt that the manufacturer was stonewalling after finding numerous online complaints. The failure mileage was 75,000.

On two occasions the car loss power from 60 down to 30 had to pull over and shut the car down very scary situation on the highway . After sri 15 minutes or so the car started back up . Had Ford run a diagnostic test and said couldn't find anything wrong. Second time did the same thing about six months later another scary situation safely pulled over and waited 15 minutes and car started, was fine for another six months . Also had two situations when brakes didn't work abs lights came on with other lights pertaining to brakes had to pull over and shut car down for awhile . Turn car on and they were fine . Again I want to emphasize very scary situation. Dates incidents occurred 09/10/2019 and 09/24/2020 engine shut down , brakes situation 09/15/2020 and again on 04/04/2021.

While driving the vehicle three block from my house the engine shut down and would not re-start. I pushed it into a parking lot and attempted to jump start it with no luck. I had it towed to airport marina Ford 5880 w. Centinela Ave, los angeles, CA. 90045. My vehicle has been at Ford service for three days and they have not been able to figure out the issue. The service advisor said they problem may be caused by the high voltage regulator or the transmission. My vehicle only has approximately 52,000 miles.
My cars engine shuts off after accelerating with no warning. No engine lights come on during the process and my car remains in motion but can't accelerate. The car starts to shake vigorously when right before shutting off. I need to shut off the car and turn it back on to get it going, but it becomes dangerous when on the road. I took it to a mechanic who can't determine the cause of the issue. This issue only happens after a second startup of the vehicle within an hour time of shutting off the vehicle for the first time. After restarting the vehicle after the second failed drive, everything works correctly again. All electrical systems keep working when the engine shuts off. Happened 12 different times for me since February.
My car shutters at an idol or slowly taking off where it shuts off. This has happened more then once and the scary thing is I've pulled out in a intersection and the car shuts off. I have to put it in park and restart it. It's happening more often now my engine light just came on after this happing for over a month now.
My car is a 2014 Ford Fusion I purchased at the dealership 2 years ago. Never had a problem until recently. After I turn on my car and switch gear to "drive" my car will shut down within 20 feet. I have to park the car and wait a few minutes and try again; it always happens later on during the day when driving off a parking lot. The main problem is that the "check engine" light never comes of, but there is certainly a problem when the car shuts down on it's own; it never shuts off while driving at high speed, but I am truly concern with this matter. I took my car to the dealership to get to the bottom of the problem. I was advised it will cost me $110. 00 for a diagnostic, which I paid. I waited for 4 hours and according to the mechanic the antifreeze is mixing with the engine oil and that's what cause the car to stall occasionally and the cost of repair will be $2,100. 00. When I checked the car along with a personal mechanic there is no indication of anything mixing with the engine oil, the oil is clean is not milky and it smells fine. Bottom line I am not happy with the fact that there is no recall for this serious issue and even more so that Ford dealership was so dishonest about the car symptoms. Needless to say I will not buy a Ford again and still don't know what's wrong with my car.
Was accelerating in my vehicle when the car hesitated and then just shut off in the middle of the road showing only an orange wrench light on the dash. Thankfully I was driving in town and actually to the dealership to get my airbag recall fixed when this happened and nobody other than my boyfriend was behind me. I turned the key into the off position and turned it back on and the dash (wrench) light indicator went off. I could have seriously injured myself or another vehicle due to what seems to be be a system failure! I refused to take my car home from the dealership until they checked into it. They acted as if it was no big deal because the (wrench) light on the dash went off but I'm very concerned it's a safety issue and bad accidents can be a result of this.

On Monday October 1,2018 at 8 am I drove my kids to school, went to the grocery store, and gas station. My car drove fine. By 11:00 am I'm leaving home heading to work and while in my neighborhood driving 25 mph my car lost acceleration, began to jerk, shake really bad, and shut off. I turned it back on. It shook again and shut off. I managed to turn the car back on and slow roll into a parking space. I waited 5 mins started the car and slowly drove it back home. When pulling into my space. The car lost acceleration and the brake pedal would not press down. I could not brake!!!! the car shut off. While having it inspected, I started it and now white smoke comes out of the tailpipe. I drive the turnpike at 80 mph to get to work. This is a serious safety issue. The car wouldn't accelerate and I couldn't brake. I could have lost my life. What if I had my kids with me and we got in a bad accident because of this??? this is a serious issue. I just bought this car on April 7, 2018. I've only had it 6 months and had the maintenance done on it in June. I just now need an oil change. I only have 66,611 miles on it. I bought the car at 49,000 miles.
Electronic throttle body fialure. My car has same issue as campaign 13n03 but since mine is hybrid Ford will mot honor it. My car shut off three times on a drive from California back to az with error please pull over and lost all engine power. Highway speeds and hot outside.
Engine unexpectedly shuts off while driving. While driving at low speed in parking lot I went over a bump and then the engine shut off. Odometer is at approximately 44000. This occurred once before several months ago under the same conditions but I was not sure what to make of it.
I inherited this vehicle a little over a year ago. The vehicle shuts off for no reason and the battery and wrench light come on. After much research I have found that this could be the etb assembly and that several people have complained about this. This is dangerous and I do not know why Ford has not recalled it yet rather than offering the customer satisfaction program. I have an appt to take it to a dealership on Saturday. This is a known issue and we shouldnt have to pay for any diagnostics. If something happens to me while driving I will sue.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle shut off and restarted without warning. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to Ford Lincoln of franklin (615-800-6500, located at 1129 murfreesboro rd, franklin, TN 37064) to be diagnosed, but no failure was found. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
Electronic throttle body. My Ford Fusion (2014) engine shuts off. The scenario is that after driving it on my commute (40 miles / 1 hour driving) and then stopping quickly to grab food, when I leave the parking lot it will shut down. I pull over and then start it back up and drive away. It has happened a few times.
Car just stops while driving. Happened 5 times in the last 5 months. Most recent incident was 10/04/2017. Thought that this problem was related to my power steering assembly that was replaced last week, but apparently this is a different problem altogether. Driving 50 mph on a single lane road and car just stops. Turned key to off, restarted, drove about 2 miles, stopped at a stop sign, and car lost power. Again turned key to off, turned back on and car was driveable. Happened twice in may, same scenario, driving about 45-50 mph, car just stopped, drove about 1 mi. , stopped at a traffic light and car just shut off. In early September, happened on deceleration approaching a stop light.

While driving the vehicle at a low speed (about 10 mph) in traffic, the car shut off. As I pushed on the gas pedal, it felt as though it was stalling or jutting forward, and then the car would turn off. I was able to turn the car back on and exit the highway to park, and the car turned off once more as I was exiting. I parked the car, was able to turn it back on and attempted to drive it around the parking lot. The car was towed to a car shop in which they were unable to indicate any problems as a day later they were able to drive it perfectly normally. It has not happened since, this happened about five months ago.
My 2012 Ford Fusion sel, when accelerating from a stationary point on a city street, my engine loses power and starts to sputter before the engine shuts off on its own. This problem has happened many times in the middle of traffic, where I'd have to completely stop, put the gear in park, and restart the engine.
I just hit 40,000 miles, vehicle has become very unsafe, while driving vehicle shuts off. Acceleration take too long and once it kicks in it slams into gear. If I need to reverse it won't find the gear and when it does , I slams into gear, the wrench continues to appear on dash when said event is happening. There should be a recall on that transmission or engine. Very unsafe. When vehicle stalls it becomes a hazard to everyone around me. If someone could please contact me this would be great. Upon searching what the problem could be I noticed numerous complaints about the same issue. Please help! I don't have any photos of the vehicle shutting down and what a hazard it can be . Tell me what to do please.
Was driving in a parking lot, between 5-10 mph when the car clicked loudly. I lost steering and brakes, and came to a sudden stop. The engine had turned off, the car had put itself into park, and the instrument panel went back as if I had opened the door with the car shut off.
Traveling south bound on florida rt 54 in heavy traffic, engine shut down, restarted after 15 min, took vehicle to park Ford in wesley chapple FL. Got veh. Back 3 different times same problem in different locations t.
While driving I had total loss of power and car shut off. It happened 3 times in a two day span.
I was pulling up slowly behind two cars at a red light when my engine accelerated with my foot firmly on the brake. My car began to inch forward toward the car in front of me. I put the car in neutral and the acceleration continued. I put the car in park and once again the acceleration continued. I then turned the key off and the engine shut down with my car ending up a foot away from a car with a woman and two children in it. I went online and found other cases of this happening to other people with 2011 Ford Fusions. I took the car to my dealer and they said they could not find anything wrong. This is the second time this has happened to me with this car. I was on a busy four lane highway both times.
This car had approx 2400 at the time of incident. My wife and I were driving the car down a steep grade on 4/23/16 the car chimed 4 0r 5 times . I asked my wife if she knew what the sound was and she said no. About 5 to 10 seconds later I told my wife that the car was not running. And I looked at the dash and it was blank. I quickly put the car in neutral and started the car. It turned on. I continued driving about 300 miles after this incident. I brought the car to madison Ford in ohio to be looked at. They couldnt find any codes. They sent me home with the car. They called me back on tues and said bring the car back . This time they found 6 codes. But to my knowledge nothing stating the problem. They drove the car 60 miles or so and said the car was fine. I called classic Ford in mentor OH and talked to the service advisor and informed him I was bringing the car there to be serviced. The advisor said he wouldnt be working 4/29 and he would inform the service mgr of the problem. Icalled Friday and spoke to mark the mgr. He said he talked to the people at madison Ford . He told me to bring the car in Monday may 2 but we are going to do the same thing and if we cant find anything then theres nothing we can do for you. Well I asked him if madison told him the car shut down going down a hill and his reply was uh no. Today may 1 I started the car and let it run for 3 mins and with my wife in the car pulled down the driveway and it shut off again. No check engine warning or anything. After the first incident my wife said I wouldve been killed because I wouldnt have known to do what you did. These are serious life threatening issues and my wife and do not feel safe in this car. Especially when they tell me theres nothing wrong with this car.
On the evening of April 22, 2016 car shut off when in motion at 35mph on a city street. No indicator lights came on. Put car in neutral and started it after three attempts. The following morning I drove the car 2 miles to my father's house to have him check it. The car shut off while in motion at 25 mph on a city street. Five times. A 10 minute drive took me more than 30 minutes. Error code p2111 came up. My car has under 68,000 miles. Throttle body. I believe this is covered under my extended warranty.
Last week my car engine would shut off without warning when I was at a stop light and idle about to turn onto road. This happened twice so I took my car where I purchased at ryan Ford sealy and they had it 4/6-12/2016. They couldn't find anything because no codes or light came up. Ran vehicle health check and nothing. Acted fine yesterday. Today going right under 30 mpg and at the stop sign it shook bad and lights came on. Engine stayed on but could not move. Waited 15 minutes and limped to my house and had tow truck take it back to ryan Ford. Determined and replaced throttle body.
Code p2111 throttle body , after acelaration wrench light came on and engine shut down to idling on 2 cylinders, nearly a accident happened , car only has 38,400 miles on it, I called Ford motor CO. They offered no help, wow !!.
¿3 may 2013 (mileage 32,800) moab, utah. Driving in the mountains around moab for my daughters wedding. One passenger in the car beside myself. While driving around a sharp curve, all the electronics in the car went dead. The engine shut down, all lights on the dash, the radio, ac all stopped working. Power steering, power brakes were non-functioning. This happened a total of five times. ¿26 August 2015 (mileage approximately 55,600) time: 6:00pm. Driving home from work. I¿d stopped at a street light and when I pulled sharply out onto main road, the car went dark again and all electrical systems shut down. I quickly restarted it by shifting into neutral and starting it with the key. Three blocks later, it happened again. This was the first time it had happened on a straightaway. I was driving by myself. ¿6 September 2015 (mileage approximately 55,950 between san juan capistrano and lake elsinore, CA. Coming out of a sharp curve in the road while going uphill all electrical components of the car shut off. I shifted into neutral, turned the key, and the engine started up again. ¿19 November 2015 (mileage approximately 56,751) went over a speed bump with another passenger in the car. The Ford Fusion shut down again, and after I restarted it, two hundred yards later did it again. ¿Ford has tried to locate the problem three times. Finally replaced throttle body on 22 sept. And said that fixed problem. It didn¿t! Ford corporation customer service now refuses to return my last five calls.
I was driving down the highway and a red triangle light comes on that says to stop safely. The engine shut off. I had to pull over and turn car off. Once I started it back it starts fine but continues to turn off very few miles. This is a major problem and puts my families lives at risk. No lights are on after I turn car back on. This is very serious and can cause my family to die in a car crash. Thankfully the hybrid engine still works which lets me slowly pull over but my speeds on the interstate goes from 70 to about 30 really fast and puts us in a very dangerous situation. Please help me fix.
