1 Headlight Switch problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 02/15/2018

Headlights going out so often! you need to remove the bumper in order to access switching these bulbs. This is costly in labor and Ford oem parts. When one headlight goes out it triggers them all to go out. Very dangerous if on a road trip or driving at night. Was sold a vehicle with my headlight pigtail plugs corroded. Estimate is $680 from Ford to fix my issue! $360 for just a headlight switch. There is a recall on some 2013 Fusions they claim a defective film however ive spoken to dozens of other owners on Ford forums at this point, who have my same issue with the headlight low beams going out within a year. Planning on getting together and filing a mass claim if they dont rectify my corroded equipment issue. Might have to steer people away from buying Fusions. I was pulled over for this too and nearly hit by speeding cars only to find out it was not even a burnt bulb.

2 Headlight Switch problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 02/10/2018

Passenger headlight going out constantly. Need to take bumper off to replace the headlights, not a cheap or easy fix. I have come out of pocket to replace the set already costing me $136. 50, 1 month later same headlight has gone out. Ford is quoting me over $200. 00 for parts and labor and $99 just to look at it. My vehicle was manufactured in Sep. 23 2013. My headlights should have had a 6 year warranty and my new set has a 7 year warranty. Very disappointed that you have to go through all that work just to switch out a light bulb when its obviously a manufacturing issue with this vehicle.

3 Headlight Switch problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 10/16/2017

The headlight selector switch on the car dashboard was on automatic and the head lights were off as it was in the middle of the afternoon on a bright sunny day when I entered a tunnel on the blue ridge parkway in north carolina. The head lights did not come on and the tunnel was long, not lighted, and had a slight bend. I was in completed darkness and could see nothing. I scrapped the side of my car against the tunnel wall before another car from the other direction provided enough light that I was able to steer my car out of the tunnel to safety. There is no police accident report. I had the car patched up enough to safely drive it home to cincinnati, OH but haven't yet filed an insurance claim or taken it in for repairs.

4 Headlight Switch problem of the 2016 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 07/08/2017

Auto headlights delay setting in Ford Fusion. I took a rental car and ensured the lights were set to automatic. There is a hidden feature in Ford Fusion where we can set a delay for the lights to turn on. I entered a tunnel which is completely dark and no lights were there inside the tunnel. I could not see anything as the lights didn't turned on. I fortunately met with a small incident but this hidden feature doesn't make any sense. I drove other vehicles where in automatic lights switch on immediately. I am unaware of this setting as I don't own this car. Please ensure manufacturer disables this setting and they ensure safety of Ford users. The rental company declined to accept it as their fault but I want someone like NHTSA contact rental car companies to disable these settings and also contact the manufacturer and understand the benefit of this setting. As per me it is a risky setting without much positive benefits. I want to ensure safety of other Ford users.
