3 Turn Signal problem of the 2012 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/14/2019

This problem began about 2 1/2 years ago with back turn signals, both left and right, will go out approximately ever 6 months. When one side goes out, I replace , but then 2 weeks later the other side goes out. Good for 6 months then same thing. As of today 1/15/2019 my right side just went out again. I have taken to dealer but they say nothing is wrong or no recalls they are aware of at the time. Never mentioned any burning as I have seen in other complaints with this vehicle issue. Not sure what to do anymore. Will call Ford directly but don't feel it will be helpful.

6 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/05/2017

"takata recall" snd I was driving vehicle when turn signals on both front right and left side stopped working. Right front turn signal just stayed on , so I had to disconnect it otherwise it would have drained the battery. I replaced both bulbs with new ones, still did not work. I get a message saying check right front and left front turn signals. I have found out that this has happened to a lot of 2006 Ford Fusions, it is a safety issue when cars front signal indicators dont work. I was told the Smart junction box needs to be replaced. Ford has known about this problem, and done nothing!.

9 Turn Signal problem of the 2016 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/25/2016

This was a rental od 11433 miles. Driving at night I activated the right turn signal and the right head lamp bulb went out. I repeated this signal left and the left head lamp bulb went out. When signaling was complete the head lamp came back on. I could not latch the high beam by the turn signal lever. It had to be manually held. These same repeated actions were done with the same results. On an until area a person at a corner may not have been visible? night two of driving the rental all worked and functioned properly as designed. All turn signal / head lamp bulb in addition to engaging and dis engaging high beams.

10 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 12/01/2015

The mechanism that cancels the turn signal after completing the turn is malfunctioning. Intermittently the turn signal will cancel prematurely, potentially causing the driver to turn into the path of an oncoming vehicle which thinks the driver is not tuning, because the turn signal is not flashing. The condition sometimes appears after applying only very slight input to the steering wheel, or applying no input at all, while stopped at a traffic signal for instance.

11 Turn Signal problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 03/10/2015

The left front turn signal stopped working. It will light up when the parking lights are on, but will not flash with the turn signal is activated.

12 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 02/06/2015

Took vehicle in for a number of issues, two of which were the left turn signal would shut off prematurely to completing a left hand turn and also both side view mirrors (mostly drivers side) would always reset itself to some random position other than the one I set them too whenever the vehicle would receive power, (when car is off and I would either open any door or press unlock on key fob or use keyless entry) mirror issue is easily duplicated (turn car off and open door to cut power, close door, lock car, and must wait at least 1 minute for all power to fully shut off, then unlock car and mirrors would randomly move around, almost as if they were trying to calibrate themselves) dealer witnessed mirror issue as it's easily recreated, did a bunch of updates of various control modules and then said car is fixed. Car was however not fixed as I went to use my turn signal to exit dealer parking lot, the turn signals now would not stay on at all for either turning direction. I must now hold up or down on turn signal lever in order to keep signals blinking, also the mirrors still randomly move when energizing vehicle. Dealer unable to trouble shoot issue further as tech was leaving now much drive my car with malfunction mirrors and even worse turn signal issue caused by the updates they did perform. Unhappy and no courtesy vehicle offered.

13 Turn Signal problem of the 2010 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 02/02/2015

Noticed on way home that the right rear turn signal was blinking faster than usual. Having had the light bulb replaced under warranty at the dealer less than 2 years ago, I thought this was rather soon for the bulb to have burnt out twice now on a 4. 5 year old car. Went through the steps to get to the light, noticed a severe burn mark around the bulb and housing, and am unable to remove the bulb from the housing at all. It is quite obvious that combustion has occurred around the light bulb as there are burn marks. I believe from a quick glance that Ford knows of this safety issue and is ignoring it. I believe there could be fires caused by this defect that is widely reported by searching for Ford brake light melted on any search engine.

14 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 12/29/2014

My daughter noticed both front turn signals were not flashing while both rear ones worked fine. All indicators from inside the car showed front turn signals working when they were not. I replaced bulbs to no avail. I went on internet and discovered other owners who had the same or similar problem with turn signals. People on the internet recommended replacement of the Smart junction box at the dealer for approximately $600. I took car to local dealer for replacement of Smart junction box. Turn signals began to work fine. What I am concerned about, is that this same Smart junction box controls several other functions of the car. Several comments found on the internet said that Ford Fusions had actually lost power on the highway when being driven at normal speeds. The entire car went dead in highway traffic. Without power steering, they could hardly get car out of the highway. This was reported several times. Again, the reason for the loss of power was the failure of the Smart junction box. I do not understand how Ford cannot be held accountable to a safety recall for this issue.

15 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 11/12/2014

Pulling into a parking lot and the display flashed warning and dinged, power steering failure. Shut car off, warning gone, taking it to dealership tomorrow. Also to note ever since buying the Fusion the turn signals will randomly shut off before completion of turn, sometimes even before turn, every time the turn signal was activated all the way not just the first stage.

16 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 02/11/2014

The left and right turn signals have malfunctioned, I. E. , they either do not stay on longer than one flash cycle, or they shut off prematurely. The function is not being confused with the 3 flash lane change feature û this feature works 100% of the time. Premature shutting off of the turn signal typically (but not always) occurs when making a turn from a full stop. When the signal is actuated, it flashes for 10 û 30 seconds while sitting at a stop light (wheels are positioned straight ahead). When the traffic light changes and I just begin to turn the wheel, the signal shuts off. The immediate shut off issue does not happen as frequently as the premature issue, but when it does happen, I cannot get the turn signal to function for more than one flash at a time. Both described issues have occurred since the vehicle was about 3 months old. This issue will be reported for the first time when the vehicle goes in for its next service.

17 Turn Signal problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/13/2013

The front left turn signal is not working and the vehicle gives no warning of this fact (like when the bulb goes out and the turn signal blinks faster). The bulb and fuse are fine and according to the dealer it is the Smart junction box which costs six hundred dollars to replace. My research online indicates that this is a common problem and I fail to see how Ford does not consider inoperable turn signals to be anything other than a safety issue. Every turn or four way stop is a safety issue as others drives have no idea which direction we will be traveling.

18 Turn Signal problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 06/07/2013

Came home from work , went back out to car to go to store noticed left front turn signal bulb was on steady. Changed bulbs stayed on still. Had it checked out said it was the Smart junc tion box. This is a common problem many people are having and something needs to be done to fix it. Ford needs to do a recall and make it right !.

19 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 05/30/2013

Whether moving or stationary, the vehicle turn signal will intermittently turn off after 1 or 2 blinks before the steering wheel is moved. This seems to be a random but dangerous problem in traffic. Dealer claims not to be able to replicate this problem but the manufacturer has modified the turn signal mechanism in later model years.

20 Turn Signal problem of the 2013 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 04/08/2013

On multiple, random occasions, the left and right turn signals have malfunctioned, I. E. , they either do not stay on longer than one flash cycle, or they shut off prematurely. The function is not being confused with the 3 flash lane change feature ? this feature works 100% of the time. Premature shutting off of the turn signal typically (but not always) occurs when making a turn from a full stop. When the signal is actuated, it flashes for 10 ? 30 seconds while sitting at a stop light (wheels are positioned straight ahead).

21 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/08/2013

Front turn signal has stopped working. Bulb is good, fuse is good, wires are good. Mechanic says it is Smart junction box.

22 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 10/25/2012

I was driving home from work, in the rain, when I got the dashboard message that my rf turn signal was out. Drove the rest of the way home and turned off the ignition and the lf parking light stayed on. Checked the bulbs and fuses and all were fine. Did some research online and found out about similar issues with the Smart junction box. One suggestion was to disconnect the battery to see if it reset. Tried that with no success. We reconnected the battery the next morning and parking light came back on. Had to remove the bulb so I now had no front turn signals. Brought it in to the dealership, assuming the worst after my online research, and got the news it was the sjb to the tune of $700. I was told it wasn't under recall because it's not a safety issue. Having working lights and turn signals would seem to qualify as a safety issue to me?.

23 Turn Signal problem of the 2006 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 03/16/2012

The turn signals and high beams no longer work during operation. All fuses and relays were checked and all fine. The parking lights do work when head lamps are on, work when hazards are turned on, and also flash when locked with key fob. But when using turn signal stalk nothing happens and therefore can not signal to turn or change lanes. Also high beams do not activate in any position of the signal stalk. The sjb is the source of the problem.

24 Turn Signal problem of the 2011 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 01/09/2012

While driving around town car would cut off completely going about 35 to 40 mph. Most recent incident happened on mothers day driving 35 mph car shuttered when driving through a traffic light and when I hit the gas the rpm would go very high but the car would not move. I had to coast to the side of very busy road put my car in park and shut the engine off. When I tried to restart the car it would take longer than normal for the car to flip over and start. I had my fiance and 7 year old in the car and according to my fiance the car did the same thing to him a couple days prior. The car only has 40k miles on it and this is a very dangerous issue. I drive on the interstate everyday to and from work at 70 mph and I do not feel safe in this car. At 40k miles there should be no issues and this is 5th time the car has either shuttered like this or shut completely down. Also have had issues with the turn signal lights, just replaced the left side and now the issue is with the right side. My car is currently at the dealership being fixed for $500 and apparently im not the only person with this issue. I believe Ford should be held accountable for this problem and not us as this seems like and ongoing issue with this make and model of car.

25 Turn Signal problem of the 2007 Ford Fusion

Failure Date: 02/18/2010

This morning, when the temperature was about 5 degrees, the turn signals failed to work for a right turn, then for a left turn. Whenever the temperature is near or below zero, the turn signals fail to work. It is sometimes possible to get them to work by pushing and holding the level, but not even that works at about -10 degrees or colder. The dealer refused to look at it, they just say, "can not duplicate. " this is about the fourth time this winter that I have had difficulty getting them to work. The lack of a signal for a lane change and the distraction of trying to get it to work could lead to a collision.
