I have made several complaints about my 2015 Ford Fusion. The air conditioner will randomly shut off, and when this happens, I also cannot use any of my 4 windows, the radio, lock the car from the inside, and now my outside lights wont always turn on. For whatever reason, this happens more in the summer months. I have two toddlers and we travel long distance fairly regularly. What happens if its a hot summer day, the ac shuts off and I cant roll down my windows, especially when I have my children? 6/19/2020 I had a doctors appointment one hour away and this happened to me; luckily I did not have my children with. I often work evenings and nights, half an hour away from home. I can't drive with no headlights. There is 0 pattern in these issues so I cannot pinpoint what exactly triggers this. Pulling over and completely shutting off the car, taking the keys out of the ignition, and waiting for all electricity to shut off before restarting the car does not make a difference. I had to bring my car in 3 times for this, each time being told "nothing found that was wrong with the car" until I called the Ford company, made a complaint, and received a case number, and am now being told the internal computer system is "shot". The more I researched online about these issues, the more I see other's making same/similar complaints for the same vehicle.

The headlights on the 2019 Ford Fusion are horrendous! there is very little visibility, I'm constantly having to turn on my brights to even see some aspects of the road I'm on. This is irresponsible on Fords part and needs to be addressed as soon as possible! there's no telling how many accidents this has cause and or will cause in the future.

My car was apart of the headlight recall in 2013. After the fix the driver headlight was never the same. Recently that driver headlight went out when driving at night. To change a headlight it costs $30 per bulb and then a couple of hours of time to remove/replace the bumper at $160 an hour. In my case, it wasn't the bulb but the body module control which handles all the lighting in my car. The headlight is supposed to be at 12 volts, but was at a 9 volts and I'm told it finally shorted. I think this has to do with the headlight repair done years ago. This ended up being a $1000 repair. For a headlight this is a terrible build for consumers.

Takata inflators I could not see headlight would go off and on and my steering wheel would shake uncontrollably came close to 3 fatal accidents every time things went wrong I was driving on the freeway me and my kids came so close to loosing our lives.
I have noted, when passing newer Ford Fusions during non-daylight hours, that the headlights project brightly out of the side of the lens and slightly backward, to the point of being distracting and causing me to wince. I have not noted this to occur when passing any other vehicles but have noticed it when passing several newer Ford Fusions. It appears that the light emission pattern for the headlight assemblies is the contributing factor.

This is not confined to Fusions, it's most new Ford cars and trucks. Their headlights (led?) are blindingly bright to oncoming traffic. The Fusion in particular casts very bright out to the left side as to be distracting to vehicles in the lane to their left traveling in the same direction. I've observed this mostly on 2-lane roads.

The insurance institute for highway safety has rated "marginal" the headlight effectiveness for the 2016 Ford Fusion. I think Ford should replace the headlights which is a safety issue and an expensive proposition.

The headlights do not provide adequate lighting at night. When driving at night the lights dim as you increase speed. I have gone to two dealerships both telling me they are "fine" "nothing wrong". I have complained to Ford corp about this issue but they do nothing to help remedy the situation. Drivers side lighting cluster will not keep lights for more than a year before I have to replace the light bulbs. I haven't had to replace the passenger side lightbulbs more than once in comparison. On top of that the sync system has had issues from about month three of ownership. They have replaced part of the computer but now have no idea what is wrong. It is "normal" for my a/c and heat to take control of itself and change with me having no way to control it. The heated seats will turn on by themselves, the power windows do not work when this happens, and my bluetooth will not stay connected to my phone. I have spoken to two dealerships about these issues and once again "it is fine" "nothing is wrong". Apparently this issue leaves no problem code to give a place to start for repair. I have video taped it and still they can find nothing wrong with the system. It is becoming hot here now and this all seams to be a health risk for myself and passengers. All of this tends to happen when driving at any speed and any time of day. I have a hard time believing that "everything is fine/normal" with the car.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 40 mph, the headlights failed to illuminate properly causing the contact to use the high beams to drive. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was made aware of NHTSA campaign number: 12v553000 (exterior lighting); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
While driving at. Night headlights spontaneously went off. I took the car to several mechanics who saw condensation behind headlight cover. They directed me to take it to Ford. Several Ford mechanics told me the headlight system would need to be replaced. The condensation wiring was most likely damaged causing the lights to stop working. They told me this only happens when there is a defect and directed me to Ford customer relations. Because I am 2000 miles out of warranty and the service plan I purchased does not cover headlights, Ford will not look further into this issue. The car isn't even 2 years old. Serious safety risk. Now I am forced to borrow the funds to pay to fix the problem.

I was driving on the blue ridge parkway on a sunny day. My headlights were set at "auto. " this selection automatically turns my headlights from daylight running lights to full headlights based on the amount of light outside. I entered one of the many tunnels on the parkway and my lights did not come one. It was a short tunnel, so I thought perhaps the sensor didn't "think it was dark enough. " however, for each tunnel after that, and to this day regardless how long or dark the tunnel, my "automatic" headlights do not turn my headlights on. This creates an unexpected complete lack of vision. Ford corporate and my local Ford service department both agreed that this is not unusual, that the automatic headlights often take up to 20 seconds to make the adjustment. I know no other car where this adjustment isn't nearly instantaneously. Had there been a cyclist in the tunnel or had I met another car, this "anomaly" could have been catastrophic.
I went to my dealership in mexico complaining about the autolamp function, the autolamp is expected from the customer to avoid distraction while driving and conditions like tunnels are ahead it should turn on the lights as you enter or a couple of seconds later, however reality is that the headlights turn on after 13 seconds and that can't be reduced by the dealer, according to the dealer that's how the car was designed (not only for mexico) and that's a big security risk , in a very dark tunnel 13 seconds it's to late and people could die due to an accident. I encourage Ford motor company to take real action to correct and recall this function to be corrected ASAP world wide, it's incredible that with such good car they missed this little but highly important detail.
Headlight low beam projector beams have become hazy and cloudy. Headlamps have reduced brightness and decreased visibility. Many times I can't even tell they are on in the evening and they appear dim on the road.
The front body panels around the headlights are loose and you can hear some kind of a rattle around the back passenger side door when you get over 55 mph.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving the contact noticed the passenger side headlight would only illuminate partially. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician stated the headlight was manufactured that way and no adjustment could be performed. Additionally, the contact stated the rear driver side door retained water inside when it rained or snowed. The technician stated there was a clog in the drain which would have to be cleaned. After the drain was cleared the failure continued. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the technician stated there was no repair for the failure. The contact was concerned of corrosion. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500. The consumer stated the headlights were not aligned properly as she was unable to see the road at night. The dealer adjusted the headlights several times. Updated evoq 12/19/12.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving at any speed, the contact noticed that the headlights would not allow her see beyond ten feet. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the vehicle was performing normally. The current and failure mileages were approximately 4,000.

The headlights are excessively directional and fail to light the road on low beam. When driving on a road with hills and curves, the headlights do not light the valleys when at the top of the hills and do not light the road sufficiently around corners. If the driver selects high beam, the drivers of oncoming vehicles are blinded, even if driving on a freeway with a wide median when the headlights are pointed across the median while driving around a curve. The only way to see potholes directly in front of the car at night is by turning on the fog lights since the front bumper causes a shadow in front of the vehicle, and the styling of the headlights prevents light from getting to the sides of the vehicle. This is a continuous problem, not a one day event.
