Air Bag Problems of Ford Fusion Hybrid - part 2

Have found online that there are two recalls in process on my vehicle that the dealership did not notify me of. Also, there is a problem with the car surging forward when accelerating from a stationary position. This poses a hazard of me accidentally hitting anything in front of me when taking off. This has been happening ever since I leased the car in may of 2018. I do not remember how many miles were on the car at the time.

Takata recall since the problem is well known and involves risk of death it seems they should have replaced the defective component by now.

There was no mention of a loaner vehicle option from the dealer. The contact had not experienced a failure yet but was uncertain if a failure may progress while waiting to receive the part from the manufacturer to the dealership. The manufacturer was contacted. 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid. Consumer writes in regards to passenger frontal airbag safety recall. The consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time completing the recall repair.

Takata recall - I have been waiting 11 months since first learning of this recall to have the airbags replaced. Ford has not yet announced when this issue will be corrected.

Summary: I have two complaints. 1) takata recall, Ford sent me the notice in 2016 and Ford mechanic shop said that Ford had not made any replaceable air bags these past three years. I just called this week 8/13/18 due to another recall notice and again no airbags had been made. 2) door latch stop working and there was a recall on the Ford cars and many recalls that dated back in 2011, but not on the Ford fusion 2010? why? many owners had complained about the Ford fusion cars. See:last week's recall covers 389,585 2012-14 Ford fiesta and 2013-14 Ford fusion and Lincoln mkz cars. Ford says the door latch in these vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a user latches the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving. Ford is aware of two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it. Dealers will replace all four door latches. In March 2017, Ford recalled 213,000 2011-13 explorer suvs and police interceptor utility vehicles in north America because the spring that controls the interior door handles may prevent the door from latching completely. Ford said it was a different issue than the new recall. In January, Ford recalled 204,945 2010-13 taurus, Lincoln mks and police interceptor. Nhtsa upgraded an investigation into hundred of complaints of doors failing to latch or flying open into nearly 486,000 2011-13 fiesta cars. Nhtsa received 207 reports related to the problem, with 65 doors opened inadvertently while the vehicle was in motion. This is a serious safety concern as far as I can tell. Fusion 2010 should have been recalled for sure! 225 dollars to replace at the dealership because Ford "doesn't just sell the spring you have to replace the entire unit. ".

I called Ford serramonte service center at 999 serramonte blvd. , colma, CA 94014 and I was told I had a pre-notice and they do not have the parts yet, (air bags). Just scared to drive my car after receiving the notice.

Robinson brothers Ford (225-293-8900, 11455 airline hwy, baton rouge, la 70816) indicated that the part had been unavailable since January. The dealer also indicated that there was no option of a loaner vehicle due to a limited supply. In addition, when applying the brake pedal, it traveled to the floorboard. The dealer and the manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was not included in any brake system recalls. The dealer diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 69,000.

Car will be 8 years old next month, live in texas with high heat / humidty. All risk factors point to this being problematic, but no relief / fix is available.

Takata recall - I contacted a local Ford dealer in summer when I got the recall notice. They did not know when they would have parts in stock. I've since received the bankrupcy notice. Checking the listed website showed my car was indeed on the list needing the airbag replacement parts. I called the Ford dealer again today. They still have no information on when they would get the replacement parts, other than saying they heard takata got some funding and are legally required to supply the replacement parts.

Takata recall - I have a recall for my car's airbag, but Ford is unable to supply the part. There is no eta.

I was warned in July 2016 that my passenger airbag is unsafe. I called, was told they expected parts by December 2016. I was never contacted about a repair. I received a letter 12/17 stating that the airbag could injure a passenger, parts are not available and they dont expect parts until spring 2018. The letter states not not allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat which is impossible for me my dealership refuses to help. I contacted Ford customer relations and was disconnected and ultimately told they cannot take calls and try again later. I want a loaner vehicle or rental vehicle until my airbag can be repaired.

Takata recall. I just bought a used car only to find out it is under this dangerous and possibly deadly recall. Ford says parts are not available to fix it, and they have no estimate of when they will be. After watching the NHTSA video on the takata problem, this is clearly an unacceptable answer, especially since we bought and older car and live in a hot, humid climate!! I don't want my family members to be at risk of metal parts flying out of the airbag in the event of a crash!.

Takata recall. . . Recieved notice in July 2016. . . Called Ford dealership and they still do not have parts to fix or replace recalled airbag and it is now 11/2017.

Takata recall- my car's passenger airbags have been under recall for 1. 5 years and I am still waiting for this repair to be made.

I have contacted the vendor after it being over a year, and I am still being told that they have no plans to do anything because they are not the only ones who bought those airbags, and it is really me who would have to do something, which I guess would be to find the airbags myself and replace them.

Recieved a recall July 2016 and never could get a sceduled replacement but they could sell us one.

Takara recall, still not repaired, was told not to drive it. Wife wanted a safe vehicle, but could not trade the Ford fusion 2010, because of recall. Did not get letter from Ford about them providing a vehicle until repairs to air bag could be completed. Ask for reimbursement for the amount of what they were going to pay any rental fees. They refused. Car is sitting and want relief under the lemon law.

A recall for the airbags has been in effect since Nov 2016. The status on the recall is incomplete. Remedy not yet available.

Takata recall - received a letter July 2016 noting the recall issue. I've called 6 times over the course of 15 months (last 10/31/2017). Wade Ford in smyrna, GA dealership advised no parts. Received tk holdings notification October 2017 relevant to contact the dealership for repair; however, the dealership is stating they are not able to repair issue.

Takata recall this recall has been "remedy not available" since June 2016. If the problem is as stated this is unacceptable.

I have contacted the dealer several times since receiving the recall notice and I have been told that they do not have the parts to make the repair. The dealer says that the Ford motor corporation has not given them direction on how to handle the issue.
