After heavy rain for a couple weeks. I was driving strait, in the rain on a city street. I noticed my radio turned off. Then also noticed my headlights and blinkers were also not working. After reaching my destination before it got too dark I stopped and tested all lights including brake lights. All of the exterior lights weren't working, the gas light came on (although I had atleast a half tank) tcs light and also the emergency brake light were on in the instrument panel. After parking the Mustang in the garage for a couple weeks until I had time to check the status of the car. I noticed the floor of the cab (passenger side) was damp. The car battery was dead (less than a year old, red top optima) and there was mold actually growing in parts of the interior of the car. I did some research regarding this issue and found it common from a failed plug under the windshield wipers next to the a/c filter. Causing the water to fill up between the firewall and the engine compartment, and ultimately leaking inside the cab onto the sjb (Smart junction box) located directly behind the firewall on the passenger side. I am very concerned for this safety issue for it can cause a serious accident if electronics fail while driving and also the fact that there is mold growing in my car from this issue. This is a common problem and needs addressed immediately.

Walk out to my car Saturday morning, battery was dead. I decided to buy a new battery. I installed it then went to a store. As I was coming back home, a fire started on the inside of the passenger side. I tried to make it home, but the smoke was getting to me, my windows wouldn't work. I finally made it home by that time a fire started blazing. I yelled at my wife to get a fire extingusher. I manage to put out the flames. I have read on the web that numerous cars as mine has had the same problem. How come nothing has been done?? is Ford just a big giant of a business that no one can touch them. If it was wasn't for us stupid people buying their product, they wouldn't have a business.

The Mustang battery dies out prematurely. I have had 2 batteries die out in the course of 2. 5 years.
2008 Mustang gt 4. 6l, shaker 500 radio defect, fuel sensor defect- vehicle is a daily driver, parked it for 4 days over holiday, battery dead. Determination from Ford dealer service was shaker 500 6 disc changer was cycling discs with the engine and ignition turned off. Dead battery then prevents passenger from entering the vehicle due to lowering of glass when door latch releases. After charging of battery on repair mode on trickle charge, started and "0 miles to e" read on message even after reset and self diagnostics. Service determined there was a faulty ecu and fuel sensor. ***stranded passengers in winter cold w/out being able to get into vehicle***2 times into service 6,976 miles on vehicle***.

Every time it rains water leaks from behind my glove box and soaks the mats. Water also collects in the passenger door. There is a mold smell and my hazard lights flash on there on causing the battery to die. S.
I have experienced complete battery failure twice on my new Ford Mustang. The local Ford dealers service department cannot give me a good explanation as to what is causing this problem. They told me that my car was not being driven enough. This is no answer. They tried to sell me an under the hood power disconnect apparatus. I said no as this would make me reset all of my radio and clock settings every time I disconnected the battery. I don't dare leave my car idle for any length of time as this will probably lead to another power failure. My car only has 1,100 miles on it and it has had to be towed twice to the dealer to have a new battery installed. No new car should have this problem.
