1 Horn Assembly problem of the 2008 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 12/13/2017

I was driving home one evening when stopped at a traffic signal,my Mustang throttle for unknown reasons the accelerator was stuck on the floor and remained wide open for approxaimately 1. 5 miiles before I wa able to stop my vehiclesa, without injuries or death to myself and the public. This happened again with this vehicle tonite with my son driving . He stated the throttle/accelerator had stuck wide openwith the accelerator on the floor. As he was unable to shut the vehicle off . This seems to be a large issue wityh Ford vehicles only to find no recalls but with one make the escape. The vehicle is a danger to public safety abroad for you never know when thids will happen. I was in rush hour traffic and am grateful by blowing the horn and the ability to think quick no one was killedb. My vehicle is being taken to the Ford dealer in the am to coorect an issue Ford motor company needs too address . After researching complaints thereare numerous complaints with no results.

2 Horn Assembly problem of the 2007 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 03/03/2014

The Smart junction box on my 2007 Ford Mustang short circuited due to a manufacturer's defect which causes the passenger side front kick panel to flood. There is a rubber stopper which regulates water flow into the engine compartment during rain storms. The stopper is located under the windshield wipers near the cabin air filter. When the stopper becomes clogged due to the elements, it floods the area and sends water in through the cabin air filter. The water will then pour directly on an electrical unit - the Smart junction box. The Smart junction box controls all the lights in the car, the horn, the alarm, and a few auxiliary items. Due to the manufacturer's oversight my car has a malfunctioning horn and alarm. I wrote directly to Ford and called their customer care line about this concern; Ford does not recognize this as an at fault safety issue at this time. Multiple forums that I've found online will support that I'm not the only one who has experienced this safety issue. Thank you.

3 Horn Assembly problem of the 2009 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 05/22/2013

I have experienced problems with sensor faults prior to the first incident. Around may 22 I started experiencing water leaking under my dash board first when I thru a cawash. Then it rained and water came again. The tire pressure fault again came on and I was over due for an oil change so I took it in to have it looked at. The tech advised me to get the extended warranty and advised me the leak was a defrost evaporator and the tire pressure sensor was bad and would not be covered by warranty if extended. He said I needed to set up an appointment with the water damage guy to clean up the mildew and mold damage to the car which would cost 400 not to mention other parts and labor. So I was under the understanding that as long as I didnt use the defrost evaporator the leak would be contained. So I used it only on sundays and one Thursday from may 22 to July and had only put about 700 miles on the car. The week of July 19th we had a ton of rain and I noticed the floor board was saturated with water and the humidity in the cabin made the panels on the doors start to peel away and there was condensation on the inside of my windows and dash. So I sopped the water up with multiple towels. I was very frustrated at the time and was worried about how I would handle myself at the dealer. That night at 235 am on July 19th a police officer advised me that a neighbor had called about an alarm going off and that they saw what appeared to be smoke coming from the hood. So I couldnt get my alarm device to work and started the car thinking it would stop. Well it didnt, so the sheriff and I agreed to disconnect the battery for the car was experiencing an electrical short which triggered my horn. As I got to the hood you could smell fried wiring but I didnt see any smoke myself. With these cars from 2005 why isnt this a recall, does it have to cost a life to make a change?.

4 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Ford Mustang

Failure Date: 03/09/2011

I own a 2005 Ford Mustang gt rain leaks into the passenger side interior above the fuse and Smart junction box. When I was driving it in the rain I lost all electrical functions ie headlights, brake lights wipers, horn and so on. Luckily I was driving during the day and could see had it been night time I would have crashed. I called my Ford dealer and they stated that are aware of the water leaks with the Mustangs but did not offer to fix for a defect on their fault. A serarch of the internet shows many people with the same problem.

Horn stopped working approximately 3 months before diagnosis. The dealership diagnosed a water intrusion that damaged the main wiring loom and Smart junction box. Total cost for the repair was $3,839. 44—just to fix a horn.
