Takata recall; I took my 06 Ford Ranger to jim burke to have my recall fixed on may 31 2016 they kept it all day. I picked it up at end of day ,my air bag light was still on I asked the service adviser about it , they said I would have to bring it back another day and I would be charged to check it out. Today is 7/21/16 my air bag light still comes on . I don't think jim burke Ford ever replaced my defective part.

Tacata recall airbag light is flashing the stays on . Not sure what is causing it but it could be serious if the bags do not work when needed . It came on about 1 month ago. Starts as soon as you start truck . Other light that just started flashing today over drive light started flashing but has now stopped . This is a 03 Ford Ranger f4.

To begin when I got the truck the air bag light would never go off when ever I turned them on and off. Which made me wonder weather they were ever really off and considering you can't fit a car seat in the back seat I had to put it in the front seat. Then when my wife was driving the spare tire fell off the truck while she was going down the road. Here recently she was driving and some one stopped her to tell her that something fell off the truck about 2 foot long. She called me and said the truck was still running so I told her to just try and make it home and I would look at it because I didn't think it was that serious. Once I started looking at it, a canister had come loose from the truck because the frame broke in half where the canister was connected to the truck because the truck was so rotted. She got the truck inspected in October. I feel that the dude that inspected it should have noticed the frame almost broke in half. I am very disappointed with this truck I have done nothing but put money into it.

The air bag discharged while I was driving to work at 45 mph. I heard a hissing sound as a white powdery substance came out of the steering wheel. There was no collision. The bag did not deploy but the air bag light came on. I wrote Ford 3 times. Each time I was sent a letter stating that there was a collision. I wrote back , no collision. They had me send them pictures of the entire inside and outside of the vehicle. No damage any where. They said it was off warranty. I say it was defective. Vehicle is 2001 Ford Ranger XLT 4 x 4. 5 years or 50 mile warranty which I do not fall under because I do not drive much, and regardless of my low mileage the dealership will not honor this defect. This is the second major defect I have found on this vehicle. There was an recall on the egr sensor, which appeared at around 36,000 miles. Because I drive rarely it didn't occur until it's 7 year and again I was penalized for "going green", and had to pay for this full repair. Can you please assist me to find out if this airbag is an actual defect. I have seen other discussion groups mention the Ford Ranger having the flashing air bag light at early mileage.

Seat belt never stays connected ( pops out) all speeds. Airbag light came on. Dealer said harness under front passenger seat came undone from moving seat back and forth when entering rear seat of vehicle. They reconnected harness and cleared computer lightcost $162. 50 to reconnect harness . Would like refund from Ford for defect in wiring harness. No new parts involved in fixing problem with harness. I had 48,678 miles guaranteed for 50,000 miles.

My airbag light came on with blinking 4x then 7 times. The Ford dealership said the reason my air bag light came was because the connection was dirty. My question to them was why is their electrical connections in need of cleaning? then they turn around and charge you labor to clean the connection.

I was driving in the off road area of oceano dunes and went off a sand dune head first about 15 feet. The entire front end is smashed, I hit the steering wheel so hard it is bent. They said they had repaired it the last time but obviously they hadn't. I have called repeatedly since the accident, they keep promising to return my call but I get no response from them. First they wouldn't believe there was anything wrong and now they refuse to accept responsibility for the failure of their safety equipment to work.
