The contact owns a 2004 Ford Ranger. The contact stated that while driving on the highway in rainy weather at 60 mph, she lost control of the vehicle and drove off the road. The contact did not seek medical attention but suffered burns to her right arm and chest. The contact also sustained bruising to her face. The vehicle was towed the next day to an independent mechanic, where the vehicle remained in the possession of the mechanic and had yet to be repaired. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered that the vehicle was under recall for NHTSA campaign number: 23v306000(air bags). The failure mileage was approximately 270,000.

I received a letter several months ago for: manufacturer recall number25c41 NHTSA recall number25v541 I called the Ford dealership to schedule the recall repair and they told me parts were not available. I explained to them I had a recall letter stating parts were now available and to schedule the repair. The dealer said they had the parts on order and they have not received any yet. I asked them if I could get put on their schedule for when parts came in and they agreed. They said they would call me as soon as they had parts to make the repair. Meanwhile, I received another recall letting from Ford saying parts are available, please schedule the repairs. I have been calling Ford recall hotline and the Ford dealership for over two months trying to get the safety recall repairs completed. They will not fix my compromised airbags and I am not getting any support from Ford to get this resolved.

Why hasn't Ford found replacement parts for this airbag defect. I don't feel safe driving a car that may cause more injury to my person if I'm in an accident. This should fixed immediately. Or I would like to return my vehicle for full refund or get a new one with out safety issues.

I'm looking to buy this truck from a private sale. If I do, and the recall has not been completed, will the manufacturer still fix it for free?.

There used to be no sufficient clearance between the drivers knee airbag and the brake pedal. I wear steel toe boots for work and my foot just barely fits between the brake pedal and the airbag box. Several times it’s gotten hung up and I had trouble getting to the brake. In a panic situation the could be disastrous. I’ve checked in other model trucks and there is plenty of clearance.

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 21v158000 (air bags) however, the dealer wanted to charge the contact to complete the repair because the air bag was deployed. The contact stated that prior to the recall appointment he had a crash with a deer which deployed the drivers' side front air bag. The contact stated that he was driving at approximately 20 mph. The contact stated that the deer crashed into passenger side of the vehicle and only cracked the passenger side front head light. I don't have an incident yet, am looking for someone to address my issue with the local Ford dealer I have received several notifications that the airbag in my 2010 Ford Ranger needs to be replaced. I have called their number over & over, they dont answer, the # 479 582 6210. The letters I get say they will come to me & fix this. This has been ongoing for at least 2 years now. I am 76 yo widow & feel somewhat I safe.

I dropped the vehicle off in April, bought it off facebook marketplace in March. Since then, I have dropped the vehicle off at big star Ford in pearland texas, and it has been there until today [xxx]. They finally called me to tell me they cannot get parts for this 2017, or the 2023 recall that must be performed, and that I was "free to come pick my vehicle up from them" it has been over six months with lack of communication, and me sacrificing time to complete in person visits, this is insane. I cannot believe they are still allowed to service vehicles information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Airbags: passenger rear and front side airbags did not deploy after being struck on the passenger side by another vehicle. Seatbelts: were ineffective vehicle was sold due to system failures and equipment issues. Safety: head and body trauma due to non deployment. Inspection: unknown no system messages before collision.

My husband was involved in a single-vehicle accident where he left the highway at around45 mph, went downhill for 50+ feet where he crashed into a concrete culvert, front impact. The airbags did not deploy. We bought the Ranger from friends, who believed that the takata recall was completed before we bought it. There have been no accidents since the recall. The truck remains at the service lot where it was towed. It appears to be a total loss.

On Monday 15th of may the Ford Ranger was involved in a front end collision. The air bags did not deploy and the engine compartment caught fire. I was un able to open door and other doors would not unlock from inside switch. Finally able to kick door open will the truck filled with smoke and people put out fire.

I was in an accident and the airbags did not inflate. I was going 30-35 mph, there was a patch of ice, and I hit a tree. The truck was totaled. I smashed my face on the steering wheel, fracturing a bone. Some weeks later I received a letter in the mail from Ford motor company with regards to a passenger side airbag recall. I am afraid that this could perhaps be a bigger problem than just passenger side airbags.

Restraints indicator lamp warning. Air bag warning is on due to a problem with the front passenger side airbag. The front passenger airbag may not function.

My vehicle has a safety recall the dealership refuses to repair and the manufacturer has been no help.

At 200k miles I got an air bag light on my guage cluster. The blinking code corresponded to a bad connection at the clockspring. I also noticed my cruise control and horn were also inoperable, also an indicator of a bad clockspring. Ford part number 1l5z-14a664-ab is the replacement part and is currently unavailable, for the last 6 months. This part covers a few different models and has been exhausted by the dealers when correcting the airbag recall. The dealer can not give me a date on a replacement part.

Took my 2011 Ford Ranger to the local dealer for the mandatory airbag and knee plate replacement pick up the vehicle they gave me paperwork saying the parts have been replaced happened to be working under the dash yesterday and found that parts were not replaced bolts were missing whether or not they removed anything or not I would doubt it and highly doubt that the airbags were replaced being as the main structural replacement wasn't replaced as the repair order says it was obviously there's a fraud involved here because the dealers claiming they repair the car per a safety recall and didn't or did a half-ass job and replace some parts or not all I don't really know is I'm not taking apart the steering column to get to the airbags but I do know that the knee plate which was should have been replaced and the repair order says was was not which makes me believe nothing was replaced I had issues right from the get-go trying to get this repair done now to find out it was fraud so I am now driving a 2011 Ford Ranger that is most likely as dangerous as it was before the airbags were supposedly replaced this needs to be looked into but I will not go back to that dealer especially after what I found I have paper documentation claiming they did the work but didn't please advise and investigate.

The faulty airbag is unable to be replaced due to Ford not being able to get replacement parts. It puts me at risk every day that I drive it because if I got into an accident and the airbag deploys, it can project metal shards into my body which can be life threatening or even cause death.
