Several attempts have been made to attain an appointment to remedy this recall with a local dealership (long-lewis) in corinth, ms. As of today, I have made six attempts to talk with service about this recall, no response has yet been offered. My concern is that I have been driving this vehicle since I purchased new in February 2008 with a potential grenade imitating an air bag and Ford motor company and or their dealerships do not seem to take this concern seriously. Why is the federal government (nhsta) so passive about safety?.

Recently purchased this truck and apparetly the passeenger air bag was missing or had previosly failed by imploding. I do not now the history of vehicle. I carried the truck to rockwall Ford in rockwall, texas to have the air bag recall taken care off. After being there for a week the service manager called me and said Ford would not pay for this since passenger air bag was missing. Ford said I would need to pay for the service myself. I have a major problem with Ford now because they are obligated by law to repace the air bags regardless any of prior events. Priors are totally irrevelant and meaningless. End result I want Ford motor company to replace the 2 air bags a no cost to me the consumer. I will continue to pursue the above until there is a satisfactory resolution please advise sincerely larry kinsey ph. 214 650 3301 kinseydallas@gmail. I live in florida. It has been 15 months since Ford notified me that a second airbag needed replacing. I have not heard from them since then. This is not what I would consider a timely replacement. The truck is a 2011 and I'm 73 years old. I feel the Ford is trying to run out the clock on my repair.
Ford has failed to make a remedy available for a safety recall from 14 months ago.

This recall has been unresolved for over 2 years.
The contact owned a 2004 Ford Ranger. The contact stated while driving at 10-15 mph and making a right turn, a vehicle from the opposite lane crashed into the driver's side of the vehicle and the vehicle rolled over about 10 ft in the air, rolled over in a ditch, and landed on its wheel. The air bags did not deploy. The emergency units were unable to assist the contact out of the vehicle as the roof had caved in and was resting on her head. The contact crawled out of the vehicle and was transported to the hospital. The contact sustained a concussion, severe pain on the neck between her shoulder blade which has limited her movements. Additionally, the contact sustained damaged nerves on the left hand and left leg, and chronic lower back pain. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot where it totaled. A police report was filed. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 21v081000 (air bags). The manufacturer also informed the contact that she did not receive a recall notification because recall notifications were not sent to each vehicle owner of the affected vehicles. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

2006 Ford Ranger- consumer states "2021 I was driving and my air bag deployed as I slightly turned my wheel while driving. It’s hard to remember but the airbag total incapacitated me causing me to hit a tree head on. I am now disabled suffering a traumatic brain injury, and multiple injuries, I am now disabled unable to work and had to leave college. I talked to Ford and they ignored me. This isn’t a legal request, it’s not for a law suit, I didn’t file against takata, but my 3 year old son was with me , he wasn’t hurt but it greatly effected him, and my ability to be a father. I need all reports and data involving accidents caused by the takata air bag deploying while driving, I specifically only want reports involving the 2004-2006 Ford Ranger with the air bag defect. Is that something you can help me with? this is so important. I know there has been deaths and vehicle was a Ford Ranger, and Rangers have been in countless accidents due to air bag. This research is for myself, and I’ve been trying but I can’t find the reports, specially only ones involving Ford Rangers. ".

Truck continues to have airbag lights on even after repairs at Ford dealership. The first time it happened it would only come on when cold and would go off after 30-45 minutes. When airbag light was on gauges, heat and air and stereo would not work. That was November 2020. The dealership replaced body control module and other electrical components. June 2021 the airbag light is on again. The code it’s giving is short in passenger airbag circuit. The truck is also saying that rear driver door is open when shut and continually tries to lock and unlock doors. Interior lights stay on because the truck thinks the door is open. Dealership keeps putting off seeing truck for diagnosing. Will not answer if the truck is safe to drive or if airbags will function if the truck is involved in an accident.

After receiving several recall notices, we made an appointment to have the recall performed. The only appointment available was several months out. When the time came, we went to drop off the vehicle. The dealer, corwin Ford in reno nv didn't have the parts and hadn't even ordered them. Service writer michael mcnally said that they would order parts and we would need to bring vehicle back. We expressed displeasure that they hadn't notified us of a delay. We were told that they wouldn't do the recall and we would need to take it to another dealer. We notified the manufacturer, Ford, but received no response. We feel that this is a denial of the recall.

Ford has known for several years that Ford Rangers (2010) have defective air bags. Two years ago koons Ford in annapolis replaced my driver's side air bag. Now my driver's side air bag needs to be replaced (now), yet Ford won't give me a date when work can be completed. Koons Ford in annapolis says Ford told them they are not providing replacement airbags for Ford Rangers now or in the near future. Ford also told me directly "they have no idea" when Ford Ranger air bags will be replaced. This safety driving health hazard has gone on long enough. I shouldn't have to drive a car with a defective air bag year after year, after year, since ownership. Please email me back letting me know you contacted Ford and a "date" they will do "legally required repair work", thank you.
We are still getting recall notices even though the airbags have been repaired. We contacted Ford and they said they have record of the repair being completed but we need to contact dmv to get it recorded.
Takata airbag recall replacement parts are still backordered for my 2005 Ford Ranger when it was taken to my local Ford dealer.

We have been receiving notification for over a year of the recall. Owner has called multiple times to schedule a repair, is then connected to dealership (phil long Ford) where he has left messages. The calls are never returned and no alternative is offered when he explains this to the person at the recall 800 number.
There has been a recall on these for several years, been to dealer on appointments at least 3 times. They will not do the repair, tell me it's backordered, no parts, they'll call me when it's there. . .
