A recall was done for a connector effecting my tail lights brakes lights and turn signal . I brought it in for repair . They passed it and said nothing was wrong with mine a few weeks later while driving at night all my rear lights went out and no one could see me. I called Ford and they were like we can get you in next Tuesday . I brought it in the next morning and said this is unsafe to drive and they gave me a rental but informed me Ford now has more stringent tests that would prevent this. But there is a backlog and the parts wine be available for 3 weeks.

2011 Ford Ranger could be related to Ford's safety recall no. 11c18. : on 09-06-19, during night time, a CO-worker following this vehicle reported to the owner that all rear tail lights; brake lights, and emergency flashers have stopped working. On-09-07- 2019, the fuses were checked and appear to be good. Back up lights work and all dash lights and lights to the vehicle front work. The VIN for this 2011 truck apparently is not part of the recall even though it sounds like it could be the same problem. The vehicle will be taken to a Ford dealer the week of 09-09-2019 for repair.

Tail lights operate intermittently. While operating the vehicle on the road at night, this could pose a safety hazard. Other drivers have indicated to me that the tail lights were not working even though the headlights are on and the light switch is in the on position. Spot checks by me show that sometimes they are working and sometimes they are not. Search engine results indicate that this is a common problem with this vehicle.
