4 Turn Signal problem of the 2004 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 11/10/2014

On 4 November 2014 I was referencing the current air bag issue with Ford vehicles. While reviewing current recall on 04 Rangers I noticed NHTSA recall #11v3520000> the description of the vehicles malfunctions accurately describes a same issue I am currently having with my Ranger. Ie, when shifting from p to d or d to r a fuze will blow causing my turn signal, brake lights, and cruise control to become inoperative. I called my local Ford dealer service department about the issue and was told there were no recall notices for my vehicle VIN number. I'm wondering if there is an issue with the recall VIN database or if the parameters shouldn't be expanded to cover more applicable vehicles. In addition there was a recall for the same year and make vehicle as mine yet the service department doesn't show any recalls for my particular VIN.

Failure Date: 07/02/2009

This is a 98 Ford Ranger XLT with 73,000 miles, my problem is the turning signals from my 98 Ford Ranger, everytime that I turned my truck on it makes a squeaking sound around my steering wheel, then right away my left turning signal light turns on by itself, right away when the left turning signal light turns on by itself the squeaking sound goes away, so now to quit my left turning signal light from keeping lighting on by itself I have to push down the emergency button on top of my steering wheel which turn both turning signal lights on, then right away I have to push it down again to turn them off, at that time there is no squeaking sound, but after 5 or 10 more minutes the annoying sound comes back on and I have to do the whole process again to turn off the squeaking sound, it just started to happened 3 months ago.

This, however also causes the headlights to flash (flash to pass). The windshield wipers also come on occasionally when the turn signal is activated. Happens with both right and left turn signal.
