My 2013 Ford Taurus will automatically shut off in the middle of driving. We took it to a dealer and they couldn't fix it. The problem went away on its own and a couple of months later is doing it again. The car stalls and often stops in the middle of driving. So disappointed in this purchase but now we are stuck .

Tl- the contact calling on behalf of the owns of a 2015 Ford Taurus and stated that while the driver was driving, the vehicle stalled without warning, two people pushed the vehicle over into a parking lot. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with a code fuel pump sending unit failed. The technician informed the contact that there was a recall on the fuel pump sending unit. The vehicle was later towed to Ford of port richey dealer (10715 us-19, port richey, FL 34668, (727) 233-7148) and was diagnosed that the fuel pump sending unit failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN did not fall under NHTSA campaign number: 16v621000 (fuel system, gasoline) and did not provided further assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000. Aw.

While driving the car and low or high speeds it will stall in the middle of driving it. No engine lights will be on or any type of warning. Once it stalls and the vehicle is turned off and then turned back on it will work fine until it will do it again. With the recalls of some of these models I looked up the VIN number and there is no recall however it seems based on research we are having the same problem as other Fords were having with the fuel system.

My 2015 Ford Taurus with the 3. 5l v6 will unexpectedly stall out while driving. The car will go into "limp home mode" until you turn the car off. This has happened at 70mph and at 45mph. The dealership updated the computer in the car and couldn't find anything else wrong. A week and a half later the car starts stalling out again. This time I have a obdii hooked up to the car and the code is p2112 (throttle actuator control). The dealership is too busy this week, so I have to see what they do. From what I've read other Fords have had the same problem. The car currently has over 23,000 miles on it.

When vehicle is stationary ie stop for a light or a stop sign the r. P. M on occasions drops from 600 to less than 500 rpm and it start to shake, if if I am not aware it will stall. What worries me is that on a trip of less than 5 miles it stalled on red lights and stop signs the same has happen to family members. I have taken to the dealer and nothing is found ( also took it to a private mechanic the same result was given) . Same year Taurus have been having fuel pump problems but my VIN is not register, lot of frustrations. This occur mostly in city driving ant the moment not on open roads,highways.

While driving to a dr apptointment I was on the freeway at about 70 mph when the car stalled, I lost acceleration and a wrench light came appeared. Fortunately I was near an exit where I was able to get off the freeway, and find a gas station, as I idled into the gas station at about 2-3 mph. I shut the car off and restarted it, and operation returned to normal for about a week. Then today, as I was driving my kids to school and was in the turning lane to enter the freeway it did the same thing, not once but twice in a span of 15 miles. Again fortunately I was able to pull off onto the shoulder and restart the vehicle. Out of fear I took all back roads home incase it happened again, which it did. I found a recall for this make and model of vehicle saying there is a fault with the fuel delivery system that seems to fit the bill, except the motor in my Taurus is not the same one listed on the recall. Regardless, this is a major safety issue that has put myself and my children in harms way 3 times in one week, and needs to be addressed. I spend an good amount of money to drive a vehicle that I feel is safe and reliable, and I feel neither at this point for a vehicle that is but 4 years old.

Service engine soon indicator came on. Later, the car stalled on the highway, almost causing an accident. Dealer could not provide an answer to why this happened. Upon investigating this issue myself, I found safety recall 16s31 which described the exact symptoms experienced with my car. My car was manufactured at the Ford chicago plant during the designated time period of the recall, yet my VIN # was not part of the recall. Ford dealer agreed that the reason for the recall could have been the cause of my car shutting down on the highway. This situation is too potentially dangerous if it occurs again. I contacted Ford, they would not accept fault and told me they would report the incident to NHTSA, case# cas-14373931.

Takata recall 2013 Ford Taurus. . . It's only February of 2017 and I have had this problem three different times this year alone. The car starts very very rough. Half of the time it doesn't start. The vehicle has stalled on me while in motion going down city streets. It has been in the shop twice this year to repair/find the problem. Still no results. Even when the car does start I am afraid to drive it because it will and has stalled on me in traffic. Automotive shop told me it was a bad fuel pump relay. I paid to have that replaced. Not even a week later, only six days later the car stalls again. I took it back to the shop where they got it running again for free. But only temporarily. Couple weeks later at the most and I'm right back to where I started. Car will not start. If it does start it will stall immediately once I am in motion. This vehicle is only three years old and there is no excuse for it not being on the road. This is safety hazard. I cannot comfortably drive my car to and from work without worrying about it stalling and getting rear-ended. It will not be a good day when this causes an accident.

My wife was driving the car on the highway when it stalled without warning and lost all power (including power steering). The doors also locked automatically. She was able to get the car to the side of the road safely. The car started normally a few minutes later and she drove it directly to a Ford dealership in hacketstown NJ. They made some (in retrospect questionable) repairs, replacing the battery and the fuel pump. When the car was picked up it stalled again leaving the dealership. We took it to another mechanic who said the fuel pump was improperly installed and fixed it. The car ran fine for another few months, but stalled again, in the exact same manner, going about 50 miles per hour. Once again, after safely navigating to the shoulder the car engine started without issue. This time we took the car to manhattan Ford and contacted Ford customer care. Ford customer care did not concede any issues with the model, and used the somewhat circular reasoning that if there were a problem the model then there would have been a recall, and because there was no recall, there was no problem. Therefore, they concluded, the issue rested solely with my individual car. On the other hand, Ford customer care was less enthusiastic about reporting the problem to the NHTSA. When I first reached out to them on 9/9/13 they said I did not need to report anything since Ford would do it on my behalf. Later, when I spoke to the Ford customer care regional supervisor cynthia on 9/11/13, she dismissed the efficacy of NHTSA, discouraging me from making a report by stating that it would not make a difference. For their part, the manhattan Ford dealership seemed to have a good grasp of the situation and replaced the throttle body assembly. The dealership even discounted the repair after Ford refused to cover it under the engine/powertrain warranty.

1st major incident- on September 12th -traveling at approx 50 mph and when I tried to brake the car would not slow down but stayed or even accelerated its speed. I eventually was able to get control of the car and continued to my destination. My wife called the sandy springs Ford dealership and we made an appointment to drop off the car the next evening for service on Wednesday, August 14th. The Ford rep took down all of my information but never mentioned the recall or the repercussions of driving this car after this reported incident. 2nd incident- on September 13th - traveling approx 50 mph and then all of a sudden I lost complete control of the car and for a few seconds I thought I would not only kill myself but other innocent people on the freeway. I managed to pull the car into an apartment complex parking lot. I called aaa and they delivered the car to the sandy springs Ford dealership. My wife called the customer service the next day - spoke with karen. Why were we not told about the recall (did research on the internet)? her response: they just found out about it that very same day. We just returned from vacation and our neighbor just delivered our mail, well there was a letter from Ford about the recall. Then, on Friday September 16th we received an automated call from sandy springs Ford about the recall. Does Ford have any idea in the act of negligence they have created? there could have been fatalities. Our car is still at the Ford dealership - it is stalling out and the brakes were not the same (charged us to fix them). Ford said the speed control cable was completely broken off and they were required to report it and mail you the part. Was this done? for the life of me, I can not fathom that a car manufacturer would not have alerted their dealers about this recall. I should have been alerted and warned on Monday evening and told do not drive the car.
