03 Ford Taurus, the heat has quit working in the car first I lost low and the next two speed controls then I lost high speed altogether. Doing research at other websites this is a very common problem. Also there has been the occasional water leak on the passenger floor board. Where is the recall.

Heater and a/c fan motor suddenly stopped.
On a recent trip to n. Carolina we noticed an odor like something electrical was burning in our 2002 Ford Taurus ses. Shortly after that the a/c blower would only work on the highest speed and we could hear a squeaking noise behind the dashboard. We had the car repaired at a private repair shop in n. C. They had to replace a resistor and the blower motor. On several occasions over the last 3 or 4 years we have found the passenger side floor carpet wet after a rainstorm. We didn't notice this often because the car is garaged most of the time. I am concerned that if the water leak caused the electrical short the first time it will only happen again. I would like to think that Ford motor CO. Would want to repair the root cause of this failure which is obviously a manufacturing issue. A fire could very well have started in this automobile. Or will Ford wait until someone is hurt?.

Water leak causing blower motor and resistor to fail on 2003 Ford Taurus.
Their was a winter storm and the blower on my 2003 Taurus was not working. When the tempatures started to rise and the snow/ice melted there was a significant consolsation on the unit as well as on the floor boards. The motor hissed, then started then stopped. I have a friend who had the motor replaced a few weeks ago for the same reason.
Heater blower only works intermittently and only on high!.
I purchased a 2003 Ford Taurus with a five year extended warranty from elder Ford. Blower motor was full of water that leaked through the vent. This made it burn out. The dealer wants $420 to replace the motor and cowl cover. This is a design problem, I have not modified any parts of the vehicle. Not even three years later this is the problem I am having. And I was told by the dealer that this is not covered under my warranty that I purchased for over $800. I feel that this should be covered and Ford should not be ripping people off by building junk.
The contact stated while driving smoke started coming from underneath the dashboard. Upon inspection by a local mechanic it was determined there was a short in the blower motor. Water could gather in the area where the blower motor was located. The mechanic replaced the blower motor and installed a special kit to waterproof the area. There was a technical service bulletin for this specific problem.
Windshield is always damp on starting. Blower motor ceased working and was repaired for $250. 00. Wondering about the winddshield leaking? and recall as this will probably happen again.
Consumer smelled a burnt odor coming in from the vent. Vehicle was parked, and it caught on fire from the center control panel. The fire was extinguished by fire department. Consumer drove vehicle to the dealer, and mechanic stated that the cause of the fire could not be determined.

Gear shifter does not line up correctly when in any gear. Ajar door light and inside dome light stay on and the driverside door will not lock when this happens. Also, when getting in or out of the car each passanger gets shocked if you touch one another or the doors. This has been happening for about 3 months now. This happens on a regular bases.

Consumer states that while driving the lights under the dashboard will stay on and the consumer is unable to turn off the lights unless vehicle is shut off. Dealer notified. Mr.
Consumer states while vehicle was parked opened the driver side door saw couple of sparks suddenly the vehicle began to smoke and occurred a fire. Nlm.
Interior map light is also the dome lights. Cannot shut off when the door is open. When the door sensor breaks the sensors thinks the door is open. This is hazardous at night since there is glare coming off the windshield.

Vehicle can be in drive and moving, or in park and sitting still, the engine will begin to hesitate after running for 10-15 minutes. The dashboard instruments get extremely hot, the lighting will dim on its own. All electronics (I. E. Radio, air conditioning etc. . . ) will fail. The car will then cut off without warning. Vehicle also lunges forward if in park or stopped while in drive, if it has been running for 10-15 minutes or more.
All electrical dash instruments were inoperative - windshield wipers were needed and were not operating for a period of 20 min. , then suddenly power was restored for no apparent reason - problem has occurred at least 5 times for different periods of time on separate occasions.
After the Taurus has been driven for more than 30 min, you will lose power stering and the car becomes difficult to control at slow speeds. While Taurus is running and the gear selector is in park or neutral p/s works! select reverse or drive you lose p/s, dash board alarms seatbelt and abs brakes, the radio mutes, select park or neutral everything returns to normal.

Before parking there was a burning smell. While parked, smoke came from underneath the dash, then flames were coming out, police officer pulled the fuses/ battery and then fire went out. Please provide further information.
Dome light/door adjar indicator come on intermittently while driving. At night, dome light disturbs driver. Will go on and off as you drive. Dealer was not able to fix. Is getting worse, now it trips the car alarm as door adjar sets it off when locked with alarm set.
When I first bought the car the door ajar light would intermittintly come on. I took the vehicle I took it back to them twice and they were unable to fix it. Now the problem is esculating. The car now shuts off the power to the radio speakers, power windows, power assist and probably other components when the gear shift is taken out of park. All components work fine when car is in park shift position. Of course I'm required to pay to have this fixed even though it could probably been fixed right in the first place. The decision to stop going back to the dealer is based on the work they did do (shabby) and their not being able to fix the main problem I took the car back into them. Is the car suppose to had a high wind noise - I was told that was part of the design and they could do nothing about that when I first bought the car.
The contact owns a 2003 Ford Taurus. The vehicle burst into flames while parked and was destroyed. A police report was filed. The contact's insurance company informed him that the fire originated from the steering column or under the dashboard. He has pictures, if needed. The purchase date, VIN, and engine size were unknown. The current and failure mileages were 23,000.
"door ajar" indicator comes on won't go off, or interior illiminating lights come on when door is opened and never go off, have to remove fuse to save battery, but cannot operate windows.
The door ajar light comes on when the weather is warm. This causes the interior lights to stay on, and the driver side door will not lock when using the power lock button when this occurs.
Faulty wiring in the harness causing the door adjar light to remain on when temperature is above 80 degrees and malfunctioning of the power door locks mechanism. Mjs.
