Rear camera just went inverted and rear assist lines are not displayed. Dealer has not been contacted. This is a safety hazard while backing up. I have had no other issues.

2011 Ford Taurus limited 37'000 miles original owner like new condition. Engine and all systems working perfectly no check engine or other lights showing. I was driving on city street about 25mph and with no warning engine and dash all shut down I had no crank and no dash lights at all. While I waited for tow truck dash lights did come on and anti theft light was flashing very fast. If I had been driving on interstate 80 I may have been killed with all the semi's that are always there. This happened August 7th 2025 it has been at the Ford dealership by my house for 25 work days and all they have done is checked the computer and said no power so replaced comp with rebuilt one and still no power so that is where I'm at. If you have seen this before please tell me ,they have no clue thanks.

The inside rear view mirror camera only works on occasion.
I was driving, with absolutely no warning the steering wheel tightened up and wouldn’t turn. I had to take evasive actions to avoid a crash and park. My vehicle has a recall in the system but was apparently not apart of it. I am unsure exactly what part is causing the issue whether it is the electronic power steering motor or the power steering rack itself. Upon request I can provide the item for inspection. The vehicle and parts have not been assessed by any outside source.

After my battery died, my 2011 Ford Taurus defaulted my only working key to a ‘mykey’ with volume limits, seatbelt mutes, and other safety limitations. I cannot undo it without spending over $200 to fix an issue caused by your faulty system design. This creates a safety issue and financial burden that Ford should be responsible for.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while turning off the vehicle, there was white smoke coming from under the hood. The check engine warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated there was a fuel burning odor coming from the interior and exterior of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the electrical system had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was not available.
Started my car up then put it in drive, when my traction control light turned on, and my power steering assist light also turned on my dashboard as I was driving out of my on street parking spot. I lost all power to my steering wheel , and was unable to turn it so I could attempt to safely move back over to far right lane, as I was in downtown traffic. This is so scary and terrifying. It's my second car ever which I worked really hard for. I tried to turn car off, and restart it like google said, but it was the same loss of steering. The car is sitting at my parents house.
When I reverse I get a blue screen and or an error message saying “camera is unavailable”. I know there are quite a few Fords with a rear camera safety recall however the Taurus limited is not listed but is having the same issue. The fusion is listed which is a very similar car like the Taurus.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Taurus. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal while driving uphill, the vehicle stalled. The contact unaware of any warning lights being illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle started rolling backwards. The contact attempted to stop the vehicle however, the vehicle lost brakes and the power steering assist functionality. The contact was able to apply the parking brake to stop the vehicle. The contact had attempted to restart the vehicle and observed that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic had diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the anti-theft system had caused the vehicle to stall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
Backup camera does not always work.
Rear view camera does not work for about 6 months. I tried all suggestions but nothing worked.

The backup camera on this 2018 Ford Taurus is faulty. It works intermittently with an image only occasionally being displayed, and often disappearing while backing up. The dealership said it has received many similar complaints for this vehicle.
The backup camera in my car randomly stops working. The screen will appear black when I put it in reverse and a note pops up saying “rear camera unavailable please contact dealership. ” then the next day it will work again, then go out again. It’s random but happens too frequently.
My back up camera is not working for many year even when I got repaired.
The auxillary for hands free phone calls stopped working the same time the back up camera went out. The camera comes and goes. It works sometimes when it is really cold out. Not sure if this is the wiring.

Had several wheel alignments car would read straight but is not straight I have all new front extension work done my car is still going out of control going into different lanes while I’m going g straight I took it to the Ford dealership they can’t even find the problem.
2019 Ford Taurus limited rearview back up camera is, distorted, or blank with a blue screen, sometimes it flickers on and off when in reverse. It is available for inspection upon request. This is a potential hazard and could cause an accident. It has not been confirmed by a dealership; the camera randomly works and is obviously an issue when a blue screen appears in reverse vs a visual of what is behind the vehicle. When going from reverse to drive a message appears that the camera is not working with a yellow triangle containing an exclamation point.

Was driving and my electrical power assist came on and I ran off the road twice because I had no steering. So I eventually got it home and called Ford and talked to a rep and they said there is a recall but it is VIN sensitive. But of course my VIN wasn’t one in the recall. Which is crazy because it has all the symptoms as the recall but won’t cover mine. I could have been really hurt as well as my daughter and it’s just crazy if there’s a recall then it should cover all the vehicles with in the year and model. Not just certain ones especially when I have same exact symptoms as recall.
Power steering died out and is not working.
Was driving and the accelerator/has pedal stopped working. A wrench indicator came on. The engine stopped working. I pulled to the side of the road and the engine started shaking. I turned the engine off then restarted it. It functioned fine. This happened twice in 2 days. It's the electronic throttle body. Ford won't fix the issue for free. It has 44k miles on it. An obvious manufacturer defect.
This Sunday, the electrical power steering started acting weird as I was driving home, the steering did some unpredictable stops as I was driving 100km/h and had to take a turn on the road. Almost got into an accident because of that steering sudden failure. I can't imagine if there have been a car on the opposite lane I was gonna hit that car. . . I got so afraid I can't believe the steering can actually malfunction all of a sudden like this. I somehow got back home ''safe'' but then steering was dead. Impossible to steer. Dead. Got my Taurus 2011 sho towed to the closest Ford dealer so that they finally call me and say my VIN number is not on the recall even tho there were thousands of Taurus 2011-2013 recalled for that same issue.
Steering failed while moving slowly, reset procedure failed, will have to tow for repairs unsafe to drive, mileage 60,000, highly maintained.
While driving my vehicle at 50 mph, the power steering went out and the stability control light went off. The vehicle almost crashed. There was no water, rain, or slippage of any kind. After pulling over, shutting the car off, and restarting, did the car resume normal operation. After researching this problem, I located a recall, 15s18, which describes my exact situation. However, after contacting my local dealer they said my vehicle was not included in the recall.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that upon parking the vehicle, she inadvertently removed the key from the ignition while the vehicle was still in drive. After which the vehicle began to roll, and she realized she had forgotten to shift the vehicle into park. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA campaign number 18v141000 (electrical system, power train), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 48,000.
The ac/heat will shut off randomly and not turn back on. I’ve had my car into the shop many times and the issue still is not fixed. I’ve talked to many people with the same car as me and they all have stated that they have the same issues.
Backup camera is faulty. It malfunctions and turns off and on intermittently. Can't see behind me and could cause an accident. Additionally, other wiring issues including body control module is faulty and the left turn signal will not work. The vehicle is available for inspection if needed. With improper wiring or blinker issues can cause an accident without warning people of changing lanes or turning left at unprotected left hand turn lanes. The issue with the backup camera and body control module we confirmed by an independent repair shop. The component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police or insurance. There are no warning indicators on.
The apim has failed on my car. The dealer has confirmed that. The media console that controls heat/air, radio, rearview camera and car settings has failed. I can not use my rear view camera. It just seemed to fail randomly. One day the screen just shut off while driving.
Without any warning or warning lights the electronic power steering system failed, and the turn signal will not remain on unless held manually (new problem that started when the power steering failed). It is very hard to turn without it, and I am a strong man, it's nearly impossible to turn with one hand so the turn signal can also be operated. Only 39000 miles on the vehicle.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, several different warning lights would intermittently flash on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where she was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and she was given the same information as the dealer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

Driving on the highway, when the car lights, radio, air conditioner, steering wheel, speed all goes out. The car wouldn’t crank back up and theft system keep coming on.
Ford needs to recall the throttle body sensor and break pedal for the 2011 Ford Taurus fwd sel model. Back in the day, there was a cable connecting the accelerator pedal to the throttle. If that cable snapped, well, you were up a certain creek without a paddle. But at least you knew what it was. Nowadays every system in your vehicle is controlled by some sort of computer, including the etb (sometimes called an electronic throttle control (etc)). The etb uses data from sensors to control the position of the throttle valve, which in turn manages the amount of air entering the engine. Spent well over 809. 00 for new tb sensor and break pedal and my car is still not working. It goes into limp mode and sudden acceleration w o warning. It’s very dangerous. Repair done on Feb 13, 2023 replaced accelerator pedal sensor fuel injection throttle body.
My 2011 Ford Taurus has had so many repairs out of pocket expenses and if I purchased another warranty package doubt it would cover my issues past and present. 69,000 th miles. Throttle bottle and pedal replacement $ 852. 79 replaced on February 14, 2023. Mechanic tried to fix it but the error code is the large blue wrench and check engine light still on. Have to bring it in at the end of the month to my Ford dealer as they are so booked up and I have read all the Ford recalls. When I start the car the break pedal is to the floor, it revs up and when I place the shift in drive it wants to take off by itself at a rapid speed. I then shut the car off and it makes a big thump. It takes me three tries to start it up again but looses power where I have to put my emergency flashes on. This incident is so dangerous. Ford should have done a recall there are so many complaints ! I was going to disconnect my battery and connect it again to see if that works but I don’t want to erase the codes. My Ford dealership is so busy that they could only give me an appointment at the end of the month. As I stated my vehicle is inoperable as it sits until the end of the month to get serviced again.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that on three separate occasions, the vehicle had independently surge forward without warning. In all three incidents, the contact either hit another vehicle or an object due to the failure. The contact also stated that the vehicle would accelerate upon depression of brake pedal. The contact stated that all three accidents were minor; the air bags did not deploy and there were no injuries. A police report was filed when the contact hit another vehicle. The vehicle had yet to be serviced or diagnosed. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
